  1. I have a simple policy - if a person joins CruiseCritic and immediately posts a first message that is full of criticism, accusations, drama and hysterics, I simply ignore the complaints. If they are valid, then too bad. A person who wants my sympathy and assistance has to be calm, rational and believable. Otherwise, I don't care. I have no desire to facilitate their anger.

In this case, the language has nothing to do with my position. It's the purpose and tone that I object to.

I can understand what you mean but ...It's is very hard to express your feelings in a language that you don't know AND when you use Google as a translator that probably will lead to confusion and sounding worse than you might intend. If this person could have write in his own language it might have sounded different?

Just a thought though...:) (was that right?)

  2. For anyone planning to take a cruise on Celebrity in 2012, there is a special going on right now.

Until the end of January 2012, if you purchase a beverage package you will get a 10% discount.

My DH and I just purchased ours today.

    Happy Sailing!

I can't find that information on "My Celibrity" when I look at the prizes. Where have you found this info?

  3. OK, thought I'd add this since I just joked about how many 'CC' abbreviations there are on this forum:

CC - Cruise Critic (as the OP listed)

CC - Captians Club (X's freq flyer program)

    CC - Concierge Class

And I threw in CC and water for Canadian Club Whisky and Water just for fun!

    Den

And I will add CC for Carbon Copy (in email)

  4. Each time you use your card to get a drink, you will receive a receipt to sign, you can add a tip to that. I believe it does include a gratuity, we usually add more because the service is so good.

Sorry, thats not correct. On a 14 day cruise, with two premium packages we never had a reciept to sign. It happend only once and the waiter hadn't noticed that I had a package. It was corrected after contacting Guest Relation desk.

There where no problems whatever with service, on the contrary we had our drinks served promptly (after a while we didn't even had to show our cards because they recognized us...)

  5. Just back from a 14 day cruise. Both my DH and I had a premium package. We had prepaid it before the cruise. We vas very satisfied with it! Very easy, no papers to sign, and no big bar bill to pay after the cruise....

Did we drink so much that it covered the cost? I don't know actually - but as said before - it counts up very fast... A beer to the lunch, two beers/drinks in the afternoon, a drink before dinner, two glasses of wine at dinner, a drink or two at the night club. Water for the excursions, a smoothie now and then. It really adds....

If (when) we cruise again we will by the package again for sure!

  6. I care plenty for others, I also care for my personal space

So do I. And I don't like to get to close to people if I can avoid it. But sometimes everybody (including me) have to accept that it's not possible to always demand the personal space wanted. Especially not in crowded areas and lines for example... It's just a matter of showing consideration when needed.

I promise - if you carry your backpack in hand when crowded - I will do my very best not to get so close that I will breathe down your neck...;)

  7. If there was a like button for this I would hit it. If you are close enough to me to be hit by a backpack, you deserve to be hit.

A typical remark from a backpacker user who doesn't care a bit for others. I got my face bruised by a backpack, standing in a crowded area by someone like you. I'm also short and very easy to push forward when it's crowded. So I suppose I deserved it...

Maybe I should have apologized coming to close?

  8. Sollan - you are correct, when you check out it is added to the total. For my cruise, the Premium package showed as $196.00. When I purchased it, the 15% was added on and my total at checkout was $225. You will not have a surprise at the end of the cruise :)

Thanks to you I have finally go the answers... On CC Norway/USA they are still trying to understand what I mean....:D

    /sollan

  9. If you go into your booking & buy the drink package on line when you go to check out & pay for it the 15% will be added on top & you will see exactly what you are paying for.

Aha...! Does it means that the price I see on the website doesn´t include the 15% and that it appears on the final cost before I get finished with the buy (sorry for bad english). So check-out is check out on the web, not the ship...!

    Am I stupid or...:o

Thanks for all answers, it´s a bit  all as a first timer....

  10. Hello

4: Is everything paid for if we order and pay in advance? We are not used to tipping and so on and the information on the website is a bit confusing (at least to me...) This is the information when you read on the order beverage packet side: "A 15% service charge will be added to Soda, Wine, Water, Classic and Premium Package prices at checkout"

Under FAQ you read this: "Are gratuities includes in the beverage package price?Yes. For your convenience, a 15% gratuity has been automatically included in the price of all beverage packages."

Is service chargees and gratuity the same? As I said this is nothing we are used to....

    kind regard/sollan

Thanks for the answers. This question (see abowe) is still a big ??.

I have mailed Celebrity and they answerd like this:"The preliminary price for our beverage packages do not include the 15% gratuity; however, it will be added during check-out. This will only be charged once." What happend to this: "For your convenience, a 15% gratuity has been automatically included in the price of all beverage packages"? I think the information on the website is misleading and makes me wonder how much more that can be misinterpreted.

    I will contakt them again....

  11. Hello

I'm new here and have been trying to read all in this tread. It's possible that I have missed something but hope for an answer anyway :)

We are first time cruisers and have been thinking of to buy a beverage packet. Classic or Premium.

    I have some questions:

1: We would like to have all beverages in the cabin prepared and prepaied. Has anybody any experience of the Stateroom Bar Setup?

2: Is it possible to order what you want via room service to our stateroom? If you have Classic or Premium alcoholic packages. Like to have something to drink (water, juice, beer) in the stateroom but it feels a bit "to much" to have two packages each....
