  1. One thing that Azamara do when you board which is really nice is that they take your hand luggage and deliver it to to your cabin if you want them to.

How nice not to have to drag around your handbagage while sipping the bubbles!

You can take as much alcohol onboard as you can manage.

It will be enough with a couple of wine bottles...:D

Any more nice surprices?? Please tell me!!

  2. Thanks! Will it be possible to find out beforehand when the M&M will be? Maybe Bonnie could help?

Find it quite strange that there are no invitation in the cabin. Easy to miss if you are used to X way of handeling it and there is a lot to find out the first day... Easy to miss!

  3. Have been cruising mostly with Celebrity and have been reading this forum for a while. Still have some ???

    Ship: Journey ,15 day cruise.

When you embark on X ships you are greeted with a glass of bubbles, will this nice gesture also happen on Az?

Normally I join the Roll Call for the cruise and (at least on the cruises I've been on) there have been a sail away party (not held by X) in the aft bar after mustard drill. Later on the cruise a M&M party will be held, normally inside.

Have now read that the M&M party will be hold inside(?) after mustard drill. Hope it isn't... Love to stand outside when we leave and really don't want to miss that. Anybody knows?

Have once met capt Tysse and had high hopes that he would be on our cruise, but no... We will have Magnus Davidson, have anyone met him onboard?

Is it allowed to bring any bottles of wine/cabin, to enjoy on the veranda?

  4. I was informed that both persons in a cabin have to buy the GoBetter or GoBest offer. And that the free internet package are pp. At least they calculate the value of the perk on that.

In that case you could use your companions free internet as well as your own at the same time. If he/she doesn't use it of course...

I do wonder what will happen with the bandwith though, when more people will use their unlimited internet...

  5. After dividing cost of the GoBetter/Best offers with the length of a cruise, I realized that there are no way we could even break even.

The time we vould have to spend on the "free" internet (+ the internet we have beeing CC members) to break even, we rather spend eating and drinking and enjoying the cruse experience....:D

  6. Have for a long time been reading of different kind of perks that US ta's will offer.

Of curiosity I have been checking around on web based US ta's to see what I have been missing.

The perks offered are normally the same that X offers and the extra perks like OBC's offered by the TA is usually only for US/Canadians.

Maybe I haven't been looking on the right places? I would LOVE to have some extra OBC to spend onboard! :D

  7. I am a control freak and do not book with travel agents. I always book directly with Celebrity or Royal Caribbean and there is never a fee to cancel or change. I am willing to forgoe the perks offered by travel agents for the peace of mind to do what I want when I want.

You mean that you can have several cruises booked for a long time and then you could cancel /change without any costs at all? Don't you have to make a deposit?

Would be nice if that would apply to all X customers....

  8. I suppose all X sites around the world have a "Terms and conditions" that states what the conditions are regarding payments, deposits and so on. It's also everyone's responsibility to check them... :)

Different countries have different customer protections due to the law and some have stronger customer protection (by law) then others. And a company have to follow them as a minimum.

I'm also sure that X - if they really wanted it - can have better terms and conditions than the statutory rules. Not likely that will happen though...

Not beeing from US: I can rebook for a lower price without losing deposit thanks to the consumer protection law - but it will cost at least 5% of the original fare + admin fee.

Good or bad? Would depend on the saving I can make....

  9. You could then also take advantage of the Best Price Guarantee ....

which is NOT available in the UK (for some reason!)

    https://www.azamaraclubcruises.com/best-price-guarantee

    John

Most offers - are for US and Canadian only. As a member in the loyalty program I checked different kinds of special offers - just to find ot that they are not avaliable...

This is standard in most Terms and Conditions texts: "...is available for United States & Canada consumers/Citizens only...

So -exept for onboard perks - there are little (if anything) we can take advantage of.

  10. Checked again and now they are showing... A glitch in the system?

Just curious: How do they show? In order of date? Mine have absolutely no order. Showing the last one in the middle of the list for example.

At least I expected that the cuises made after the change of pointsystem should show up either before (or after) the line that says "Change from use of Credits..." - but no...

  11. Havn't logged in to CC for a while.

When I now logged in and was looking for previous cuises they where gone.

Is it a new bug in the system or what?

The last cruise was oct 2014 and I could see that and the others last time I checked My Celebrity.

Can someone help me? How can you be sure that your points will be added if you can't see the cruises?

  12. Thanks again Bonnie. If Azamara is the "old school" that don't (yet) offer the possibility to book on the website you must admit that it's very confusing that a non-working bookingsystem is launched?

I'm quite sure that the IT department has lots of (good?) reasons to do that but doesn't Azamara think it would be a good thing to inform on their web site that the possibility is coming?

Just a thought - and not very difficult to implement...

  13. Thanks Bonnie for your answer.

You write that you have plan to eventually upgrade all websites.

Why not close them down until you have done the upgrades? Why have them running when you can't book? I thought that the booking possibility should be one of the most important things to be working on a website... I think that there very few (if any) that will book a cabin just based on the category.

I also wonder how you handle these bookings (if there are any), is it the system that picks what cabin you get? And on what preferences?

At least - have information on your website that if you want to check avilabilites/book a certain cabin - you have to to use an other website.

  14. Referring to this thread: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2248928

Why have the possibility to choose country if you don't bother to make sure that all customers from all countries will have the same possibilies to book?

This problem have been there for months but nothing happens. Why? Lack of interest for customers outside US maybee?

Can also see that there are a totally different format on the booking site on the US version.

  15. According to azamaras website its Horses and Bulls at Historic La Malagueta on 22 Nov.

it's seems to be a very interesting display by Andalusian horses etc. if you go to the Azamara website, select the tab experience then click on Azamazing evenings you can see all the details. Took me a while to find as I kept looking under already booked when I was looking for ours!

    Enjoy your evening

Thanks! It wasn't easy to find, I had been looking under the description of the cruise....

  16. Hi Sollan, yes, I'm online on this forum daily and do my best to answer questions. Though frankly our CC community is an equal, or better resource for most queries, such as yours today. If I see someone else has answered I usually move on to another thread. But so know, I'm out here in the blogosphere reading along :)

Thanks Bonnie! I wonder when the Azamazing evening will be on the Nov 10 Cruise on Journey (Madeira and Canary Islands). Can't find any information about that.
