Did you think you should have been entitled to stay out longer?
No. I'm just saying that it was enforced.
-
AWESOME pictures! This was a great review, thanks for posting!

I'll have to post a couple. Not from a Carnival Cruise, but still some great pictures.
Here's one OF a Carnival Ship: The Conquest

You got your hands slapped?
Yep!
-
Uh Oh! :(Sorry I asked! Good luck anyway;)
I don't not want to talk about, I just can't apparently... haha. Thanks though!
-
Still loving it! :D
Thanks Will! Hows the project coming?I don't want to talk about it...I might get suspended from the boards again.... Thanks for remembering though! :)

It's enforced. I just turned 17 last month, and on my last two cruises, I was asked by a security guard to show my sea pass card, and was then told to go to bed.

Awesome review so far! Can't wait for the rest!

I stayed in 11620. Deck 11 smack midship. LOVED the location. It was very easy to go either way down the hallway depending on where you were going. The bed in this cabin was by the balcony, which I like better. I would definitely recommend this cabin and wouldn't hesitate to book it again!

Incredible! Can't wait to see the finished product!

Wauw, thank you so much for your reactions!! Did not expect that.
I hope it will be fun to watch the progress.
My job is hectic and I travel a lot. It s fun and very relaxing to build such a model over time. When my flight is late, sitting in that airport, I can sit and think not about work for once, but how will I make this or that should I paint that part now, where should I install that?
The Oasis is very impressive. When I saw it first I would never build that. Too big, makes details too small, too many cabins to make...
This spring my wife and I made a cruise with the Vision of the Seas in the Norwegian Fjords (beautiful cruise btw) I have been looking at a big picture of the Oasis, and of course I start thinking how I coud make that model. I think I'll have to see it for real to do so. Maybe.
I hope the model Voyager will be ready by x-mas next year so I have some time.
RCI uses professional builders for their models. I know who makes those. I only do this as a hobby, there is no commercial interest. I did clean out my complete model yard this year. Way too many models. The model Enchantment of the seas is no longer mine, it is now under a very beautiful glass cover in the private residence of someone working for the cruise line. I think it is the best place she could go. It was time for it to go, as it took so much space, but to my own surprise I had the tears in my eyes after I delivered the model. These models take so much space, and the Voyager will be my new toy anyway.
Got some days off during the x-mas holidays, and I plan to have the front part below the brige ready soon. Pictures will follow.
Oh, and one more question, if some one has detailed pictures of the rear balconies,... I can use those!!!
Have nice holidays everyone!!
John
It's so great that you are so dedicated to your work and that you were able to give it to someone who works for the cruise line. I'm sure they are very happy with your model and will keep great care of it! You'll build many more I'm sure! :)

Amazing! And you even designed the cabins?! That's incredible!
I think he meant all of the balconies on the outside of the ship.
-
Wow! These are amazing! Can't' wait to see the updates! RCCL should hire you to make their models!
-
Who knows... hopefully soon!

Read through all of the thread and I am still clueless as to bed location. Am I right in assuming the bed in cabin 8136 on Oasis will be by the bathroom?
Yep, you got it! :)
-
Thanks Will
so the ships deck plan doesn't lie? Big surprise ;)
Deck plans never lie!!!! Except on the Oasis deck plan that I have, it says Antonio's Table instead of Giovanni's Table. :p

This is still a bit confusing. I was looking at cabin 10215. Using the deck plan and the "count down two" it should be the dreaded "left door". However, the cabin PDF linked earlier shows it as a "bed near balcony". HMMMM
That person must have pushed the wrong key, cause that cabin should have its bed by the closet.

Here is the short guide to rooms on the Oasis and Allure. BOTH ships have the same configurations. There may be a few exceptions to the following generality, but you will find this to be your best guideline…..
All non-suite cabins were built as a pair of cabins. There is a common wall between the 2 cabins that zigzags between them, and that dictates the bedding arrangement for each of the 2 rooms. The cabin configurations alternate; every other one is the same. Likewise, every adjacent cabin is different.
On the left-side cabin, the bed is adjacent to the bathroom. This is a cramped arrangement and should be avoided. There is inadequate access to the closet, and you must lift your luggage over the bed to enter the stateroom. The cabin looks and feels crowded. Two people will have trouble getting dressed if they both need access to the closet and bath.
On the right-side cabin, the bed is adjacent to the balcony. This is the preferred arrangement for most people. While not spacious, the cabin looks and feels comfortable.
You can tell which cabin is which by merely looking at the floor plan of the ship. Wherever you see adjoining cabins (shown by the arrows connecting 2 rooms), this is always ONE of the pair-of-cabins. When viewed from the hallway, there will be 2 entrance doors next to each other. One door is LEFT and one door is RIGHT.
Always remember: RIGHT is RIGHT. Select the door to the cabin on the RIGHT. It does not matter if they are inside cabins, ocean-view cabins, ocean-view balconies, Central Park balconies, Boardwalk balconies: RIGHT is RIGHT, when viewed from the hallway.
Once you find a adjoining cabin pair, merely count by two’s up or down the floor plan. This will show you each and every pair-of-cabins. Again, when viewed from the hallway, if you want a bed by the bath, select the left door. If you want the bed by the balcony, select the right door.
Bingo. This is another way to tell.

I'll cover all of you! ;)
I'm having a huge blonde moment here - it's been a long day!! Please forgive me in advance!! I can't quite figure this out.... : )Our cabin is 12184. It's not in the google doc - the closest in the doc is 12194 and it's a hump - so I don't know if I can use it as reference.
Is the bed by the balcony or the bedroom?
Thank you!
Your bed will by the closet. And no, it doesn't matter that the cabin in the google doc is a hump cabin.
I was wondering... after reading this thread... if anyone here knows the layout of 14596? Thanks. You exact cabin is on the google doc. The bed is by the balcony.
eeks, i can't figure it out. will773-can you tell me if cabin 11231 has the bed near the balcony? thanks a bunch :)Your bed will be by the bathroom.

Great review so far! Your pictures are really awesome!

Sorry but the wording for this, really has me confused. First is by the bathroom, so 2nd will ALSO be by the Balcony??
Now I'm looking at 7274, any ideas on where the bed is?
By the way, I ask for our beds to be seperate, suspect that will make a diffrence in placement anyway.
That is my mistake. 7170 has the bed by the bathroom. Sorry.
-
Now I'm looking at 7274, any ideas on where the bed is?
7274 also has the bed by the balcony.
-
We go for the aft. Start at 10 and work down unless you can get 7388 or 7688 massive corner balcony.
These are the ones to get. The rooms are about twice as wide as normal!
-
Thanks for the info. I just booked 7170 on Oasis, and when I checked the website you sent, closest cabin was 7166. How can I figgure out 7170 from that one?
Google a deck plan for deck 7: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/ships/ship/decks/deck/home.do?deckCode=07&shipCode=OA&shipProfile=1466&sailDate=1120929&hasNavigation=false
Find 7166, which has bed by the bathroom. 7170 is two rooms down, so will also have its bed by the balcony.
