Thanks for the updates.  We booked the Jan. 20, 2024, Santiago to Buenos Aires while on board the Royal this week.

Did the DFW to EZE AA flight have any rear facing Biz class seats?  We were moved (at the gate) to 2 of those last year.  Most annoying.

Thanks for the tour guide recommendation.

Looks like you are enjoying your trip.

We flew January on the AA flight in rear facing seats.  No issue, nothing to see, slept soundly from EZE to DFW.

That's interesting as the screenshot I posted above from the Princess website about not including baggage is from my international flight to Heathrow.

The comment has been there for years on all reservations.  We have used EZAir for years both in all fare categories and have never been charged.   Check with the airline you are flying to see what their rules are.

$3  to dry only if you can dry in one 35 min cycle. Pretty consistent feedback, and our experience too, is it can take 2-3 dry cycles.

Absolutely not true.   We have cruised on the Emerald, Grand, Ruby,  Majestic, Caribbean and Sapphire in 2022 for over 100 days and all dryers were efficient and done within the preset time period.

Thanks for the response. It has to be cheaper than buying individual drinks. We don’t drink enough to justify the beverage pkgs.

Don’t know your beverage choices.  Recently, December, we purchased Jack Daniels and Bombay Sapphire, 750ml, for around $26.  Call Room Service for delivery and availability.

  5. @MaisonRoseSounds like we were on the same cruise.  DH tested positive at the end  of our BI cruise May 2022 after the TA.  Inadvertently I forgot to add Princess insurance.  Worked to our advantage as we did not have to deal with AON for reimbursement.   Spent 7 days at Radisson Blu Heathrow, 5 days paid by Princess.   Filed claim with Princess for 2 days, per diem, testing expenses upon return home.   Princess changed our flights home with no additional charge.  Reimbursed end of October for all out of pocket expenses.

if you go to Princess.com, select contact us, support request and use the drop down to claim out of pocket expenses. Your FCC for days in isolation should have appeared in your accounts, ours appeared within days of the cruise end.

Dealing with AON insurance is the hold up.

  6. Received a check today after disembarking January 4.  Only issue it is $325 short.  Filed request for refund after receiving emailed folio and comparing it with onboard folio the morning of disembark mid-January.   Missing Shareholders and FCD funds in the accounting process.  Yes I know they are non-refundable but we had military and a large goodwill compensation.
The check came in an envelope with Bottomline Technologies and Princess Cruises very visible.   A great improvement from previous refunds.

  7. Princess always places holds in your credit card on file.  From experience they sometime show on your bank account and sometimes not.  The hoods are usually in the $60-$100 range.  Never seen small amounts.

Oops! The last thing Wellington wants is another Wahine disaster.

As someone who was on the Wahine, definitely not.  Will never get over the evacuation boats and wading in water to safety.   Pay attention to all safety videos and routes going forward.   Overcoming fear has been a long road, but now cruise 2-4 months a year.  Safety policies have come a long long way.   Still will not travel on the Interisland ferries.  Fly from Wellington or sail with family friend on their boat to Picton.

  9. Disappointed to see our favorites replaced.  No lamb skewers, lamb ravioli, pork tenderloin.  Menu did need improvement and consistency across the fleet.  Ruby was on point with well prepared, flavorful dishes.  Grand, dreadful for the same items.   Sapphire inconsistent.   Management on the Sapphire were well aware of the shortcomings and offered guests complimentary meals to give them a second chance.
