Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. As of today, it’s still on Ovation. Still TK nights in the Collanade too.
  2. @reposado. It's not an entitlement issue at all, it's a curiosity. It's an expedition ship. Seabourn has made a BIG deal about their submersible excursions on these ships. It was offered on the trip. Now, it's not. Sure, all cruises, and especially expeditions, are subject to change. But, for example, if you're skipping, a port, you expect to be informed as to why. Same deal. Are the subs broken 5 months before the trip and unrepairable? Has the itinerary now, belatedly, been determined not to have any sub suitable spots? Might be important for someone who might like a submersible experience and wants to plan accordingly. This board is all about getting and sharing information. Not sure what your "move on" reply accomplishes.
  3. We are on the Venture cruise from St. John's to Manaus in Sept/Oct 24 and had booked a submersible excursion. However, in February we received an e-mail from Seabourn notifying us that this excursion would not be offered "due to operational reasons." Subsequently, I called Seabourn's excursion department and asked the representative for some additional information as to what was going on, and why. It was news to the person I was speaking with and they said they would reach out to Expeditions and get back to me. Since some time has now passed and that hasn't happened, I thought I would reach out on this forum and see if someone has more information. Perhaps it is our specific itinerary, which has a number of sea days, but I assume there are several locations that would be amenable to a submarine excursion. TIA.
  4. Not on the trip, but gotta agree with @mbarker. Seabourne does not "charge" for using its tenders to go ashore in the ports that it visits.
  5. This is so strange. We have booked a Papeete to Darwin cruise next year (April 7 to May 10) aboard Pursuit. Our understanding was that the ship was continuing on The Kimberley itinerary, but we were unable to book it. The only way we could book The Kimberley with Seabourn was to wait until a May 30th departure. I was scratching my head about the 20-day gap in the Pursuit's schedule. So now I'm belatedly finding what I believe is the answer--that time is being filled with two of APT's six 2025 charter sailings with the Pursuit in The Kimberley. No information or redirection from Seabourn when I contacted them initially inquiring about the availability of the May 10th voyage. Just crickets. All the Seabourn self-described "new opportunities" seem to also represent a disservice to existing Seabourn customers. I know it's definitely messing up, and causing us to re-think, our 2025 cruise plans.
