  1. Just want to add that you can ask Guest Relations to move OBC from one account to another.

The people don't even need to be in the same cabin.

As long as both parties agree, it is really not a problem regardless of how they divide the OBC originally.

As to the question of why someone would choose individual credit when two people travel together, it depends on their relationship.

Friends may prefer to keep separate accounts, or a parent may not want to share the OBC with a child.

If you have a combination of both refundable and non-refundable OBC, that may be another consideration in deciding how people split it up.

We have $300 from Celebrity and $150 from TA plus at this point we will have $350 from CC. Wife and me as I mentioned and same cabin... at least as of today she is allowing me in the cabin :) :) We do have a balcony if I have to go to the doghouse again. Would we be best served by just getting shared credit?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Sailing with my wife in Dec. I have enough credit to redeem my CC points for OBC. What is the difference between shared credit vs. individual credit? It is just as obvious as shared credit is for either person in cabin while individual is only for one person? If so why would anyone choose individual credit? Maybe someone sailing alone.

Can anyone clarify the diffences? Thanks in advance.

  3. Royal Caribean changed an itinerary from East to West Carribean on a ship leaving tomorrow I believe due to Irma.

    ---

    UPDATE Sept 2nd, 1:00pm

Allure of the Seas 9/3: Hurricane Irma has recently developed in the Caribbean and is tracking west as a Category 2 hurricane. Given the storm's location and for everyone's comfort and safety, it is necessary to alter Allure's Eastern Caribbean itinerary to a Western Caribbean one. We know this change may be disappointing, and we are truly sorry. Pre-booked shore excursions will be refunded to your original form of payment while onboard, and more detailed information can be found on royalcaribbean.com.

All other sailings: no other itineraries are impacted at this time.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call 1-800-256-6649

  4. Need help picking out a cabin for my father. July sailing out of AK on Millenium. Cabin choices are deck 6 cabins 6053 to 6097 or deck 7 choices being 7017 to 7047. He wants port side as he said view would be better for when the ship goes from Seward to Glacier Bay. He was skeptical of cabin 6053 due to the view to the front while on the balcony even with it being a larger angled balcony.

Any thoughts on these cabin choices?

  5. In Barbados we are going to either the Boatyard http://www.theboatyard.com/ or Harbour Lights https://www.harbourlightsbarbados.com/cruise-passengers

St. Lucia we have a tour Spencer's Land, Sea & Beach Adventure http://spencerambrose.com/

Not sure yet which beach on Antigua.

edit: Seeing your other post and your age you might want to lean away from my suggestions for Barbados as those might be quite lively. Just guessing. The links will tell you more if it is for you.

  6. $300 discount on a future cruise of at least 7 nights or more in a Concierge Class stateroom, after making at least $5,000 in transactions within your first 60 days*

This promotion appears to be for a discount---not OBC or credit.

Thanks. That is what I was after. I have booked a CC stateroom and was hoping to handle through the credit card company. Doesn't look like that is going to be the case. I guess I just try to use the future credit on my next cruise.

    Thanks for your information.

  7. I Am not sure the reason for the 'fear', will you explain further? Is it because your TA has given you a special fare for which the T & C's indicates 'No other discounts cannot or will not be applied'?

If that is NOT the case, then you need to call your TA and let them know about the discount. They may have to jump through hoops to get it applied, if you have already booked, but quite possibly not.

Instead of bantering it around here, your first order of business, in my opine, would be to call the TA and get this going, then post about the experience, easy or difficult.

    bon voyage

Yes, I did receive a good deal with my TA, hence the reason I booked with them. I will definitely take it up with them Monday. It looks like my best option in the future is to book with Celebrity, have the discount applied and then try to transfer after obtaining the discount.

I just thought others might have experienced this issue and could share their results. Monday I will email my TA but with the deal I received from them I am not expecting much more. I will definitely report back on my dealings with the TA.

Anyone have any experience with the CC and this benefit on how it might work for them? If it came across as "bantering" my apologies.

Thanks in advance for any information for anyone who has experienced.

  8. Here is the story. I took out a new Celebrity CC. One of the "benefits" was if you charge $5000, which I did, in the first two months you would receive a reward of a $300 future cruise discount. I received the letter in the mail stating I had received the discount. I called the 800 number on the paper and all the information was taken down and was told it would apply to my CC as a credit. One week later I had not seen the discount. I callled back and was told I would have to work through my TA for the discount. I fear they will not be receptive to giving me the discount.

Has anyone else received the runaround on this future cruise discount? Any help with this issue? I hate to lose $300.

  9. I'm not sure how this would work. I have never booked a future cruise while onboard. Some questions if I could.

    1. My TA said if I book while on the ship I can just Celebrity their information. If this correct?

    2. If I book on my cruise and assuming those are the benefits what I would I get for a 10 night future cruise in an Aqua cabin?

    3. Is the OBC for my current cruise or a future cruise?

    4. Assuming I book onboard and give them my TA information what should I expect from my TA? The same thing if I book through Celebrity direct and then tranfer to my TA?

    Thanks in advance.
