We are kind of doing the same thing but after the cruse we are planning on checking out Disney for a day. Wanted to get some ideas of how I could do the transportation thing.

You might find the Florida ports of call forum helpful for transportation and things to do. Lots of good info available. Here is the link for you:

Go back to the airport on the morning of the cruise and take the Carnival shutter. It should start about 9am.
I would be closer to the port by then. We would actually be in Port Carnival by then.

I was hoping someone could give me a few tips on transportation in Florida. We are planning on coming in a little early to goto Disney and head to Cocoa Beach / Kennedy Space center before going on our cruise. We are considering going to Disney after the cruise. Trying to decide if a rental is best or doing a combo of things. What do you think?

Thank you! We will be on the Victory in May. First time on Victory. Thanks for the pictures!

Thank you!!!:D

Right now we have 24 points towards loyalty program. 25 and we are at gold. My question is on our next sailing(Right when we get in) will we get the gold card or do we need to wait unit the following sailing? Not sure how that works. Thanks.... :D

Thank you! We were on the Triumph in April. It brings back memories. Miss it already. :D

We just came back from the Triumph in April, but originally it was suppose to be in Galveston.(don't remember the ship) But after some digging I couldn't find any good cheap transportation to Galveston. I finally called Carnival and asked them to change it to New Orleans. The airport is a lot closer and cheaper than Galveston. If the price ever did come down in Galveston or if they had a better system, I would go that route. But until then I would prefer places that are closer to the airport. Like Baltimore or New Orleans.:)

We will be there in April, but have been on before back in 2011. Have a few questions if you don't mind.
We signed up for the cheers/soda program on line. Did you do so too, and how did it work? Was told it was automatic and didn't have to do anything besides order a drink. Is this true?
We also had to pre-sign to board the ship at a certain time. Did you do so and how well did it go? Did others follow this procedure?
We didn't have the Blue Iguana and Guys there when went. Do you the food there and can you give us any suggestions what to get? Plus pics pls.
last question...I assume you stayed in NOLA for a bit. Any restaurants or places you visited that you would suggest? And
pics. LOL
Oh and thank you!

For those wanting to see recent pics of the Triumph. This is as recent as it gets!

This guy is currently on the 11 day Journeys cruise on the Triumph (Oct. 24th - Nov. 4th) and he updates nightly, so he's only up to yesterday (the 28th). He even posts menus and fun times.
Day 1 (3 pages) has great pics of ALL areas on the boat. ENJOY!
The main page for the site is www.zydecocruiser.net. He's an avid cruiser and has picture reviews of many other cruises.
[side note: I have no affiliation with him. Came upon his site by accident and thought it was neat and wanted to share]
Thank you!

So no pics etc? Already Oct. Did you forget about us?:D

And if you pre-pay then you don't have to wait in line to sign up. I know you can goto the bar, but the lines are still long for it. I just want to go in and get my drink.

We have been on Triumph before but not before upgrades. Going in April. Do you have any pictures of Guy's? Anything you can suggestion from there?

Can you tell me a bit more about New Orleans? Where did you eat, places to go, etc?
:)

We have been on Triumph before but before upgrades. Do you have pics of Guy's Burgers? Going back in April.:D

We were on the Triumph before. We are planning to go again in April. Would love to see photos. Guy's burger joint for one and anything else you can provide. Thanks.:D

Nevermind.Sorry didn't read the whole thing.

Thank you! I guess that's new now, last time we cruised carnival never had people outside the terminal.
Last year when we went the FTTF was on the right. Directly on the right. Get your paperwork ready before you hit the door. :D

Any pictures of Guy's burgers? Would love to see what it looks like.

Lovermonkey, I'm just trying to get you ready for a fantastic time...LOL! You'll have a ball!
Hey by the way, I'm in the Chi and I see that you're from Montgomery IL? Looks as though you'll be leaving at just the right time, based on the upcoming couple of week's weather predictions.
I forgot to post pictures. We did have a great time. It is worth the money.

Sorry for getting in on your thread. I was wondering if anyone can suggest a good hotel with a balcony. My fiancée is looking for one of those small hotels what have the French Balcony. Anyone have a list of which GOOD small hotels have this? Thanks in advance. :D

I like that idea. But we might have to go back to the Hertz and get another car for a day or so to head to Disney. That is probably my best best. Thank you!!!
