We typically reserve a car at the airport (Hertz) and drive to Cape Canaveral to spend the night at Homewood Suites or Country Inn and Suites.  We drop the car off at the Hertz in Cape Canaveral (which is right beside these two hotels) the morning of the cruise and take the hotel shuttle or Uber to the port.  Cost wise, it is usually just slightly more than taking the Carnival shuttle from the airport to PC.  On the return trip to the airport we use Cortrans shuttle service with great service and price.

I like that idea. But we might have to go back to the Hertz and get another car for a day or so to head to Disney.  That is probably my best best. Thank you!!!

  2. I was hoping someone could give me a few tips on transportation in Florida.  We are planning on coming in a little early to goto Disney and head to Cocoa Beach / Kennedy Space center before going on our cruise.  We are considering going to Disney after the cruise.  Trying to decide if a rental is best or doing a combo of things. What do you think?

  3. We just came back from the Triumph in April, but originally it was suppose to be in Galveston.(don't remember the ship) But after some digging I couldn't find any good cheap transportation to Galveston. I finally called Carnival and asked them to change it to New Orleans. The airport is a lot closer and cheaper than Galveston. If the price ever did come down in Galveston or if they had a better system, I would go that route. But until then I would prefer places that are closer to the airport. Like Baltimore or New Orleans.:)

  4. We will be there in April, but have been on before back in 2011. Have a few questions if you don't mind.

We signed up for the cheers/soda program on line. Did you do so too, and how did it work? Was told it was automatic and didn't have to do anything besides order a drink. Is this true?

We also had to pre-sign to board the ship at a certain time. Did you do so and how well did it go? Did others follow this procedure?

We didn't have the Blue Iguana and Guys there when went. Do you the food there and can you give us any suggestions what to get? Plus pics pls.

last question...I assume you stayed in NOLA for a bit. Any restaurants or places you visited that you would suggest? And

    pics. LOL

    Oh and thank you!

  5. For those wanting to see recent pics of the Triumph. This is as recent as it gets!

This guy is currently on the 11 day Journeys cruise on the Triumph (Oct. 24th - Nov. 4th) and he updates nightly, so he's only up to yesterday (the 28th). He even posts menus and fun times.

Day 1 (3 pages) has great pics of ALL areas on the boat. ENJOY!

The main page for the site is www.zydecocruiser.net. He's an avid cruiser and has picture reviews of many other cruises.

[side note: I have no affiliation with him. Came upon his site by accident and thought it was neat and wanted to share]

    Thank you!

  6. Lovermonkey, I'm just trying to get you ready for a fantastic time...LOL! You'll have a ball!

Hey by the way, I'm in the Chi and I see that you're from Montgomery IL? Looks as though you'll be leaving at just the right time, based on the upcoming couple of week's weather predictions.

I forgot to post pictures. We did have a great time. It is worth the money.
