  1. I am on one of those social media sites for another cruise, but have decided not to join for this cruise, as some nasty stuff can come up. Yes, you can report it and it is deleted if the admin has missed it, but I had one where I became the brunt of some trolling. It was someone who had joined as anonymous, at that stage anonymous was allowed on that site. It made me feel quite sick, so after reporting, and admin changed to no anonymous posts, and removed the posts, I turned the group off for the rest of the month. Most people were great, and so much help was given, but I prefer CC. Certainly, since covid the CC posts have gone down, and as you say social media now is used by more people for posting.
  2. Hi Folk. We are doing this cruise as the return from Syd /Sing in July, after Splendor drydock. As we will be in Singapore for 3 weeks in May /June, we are thinking of flying over to the Philippines for a week or so, (to catch up with friends we met on a cruise) during the 3 weeks Splendor is in drydock. We try to get to Singapore once or twice each year, so are very familiar with it. Love going there. We did a similar trip on Spirit, when she went up for drydock a few years ago. While in Singapore, one day we caught a bus around to the dry dock where Spirit was getting refurbed, just for a look-see. Of course, couldn't get near, but could see her from the hill. It was a good way to see more of Singapore that we hadn't been to. Lovely Black and White colonial houses out that way. I am on a Princess CC for a cruise in April this year. a lot of people joined in the last couple of months, so still plenty of time for people to get on board.
  3. Checked outside. Clear as a bell. Must be just the camera lens.😁.
  4. There appears to be a lot of fog out there. Thought perhaps the weather was a problem. Sad that it is due to a medical emergency.
  5. Thankyou. Guest service crew call, answered as well. I only just noticed we had lights in front of us on the bridge cam. Hope the person is going to be okay.
  6. Can anyone tell me why we appear to have gone back to Busselton?
  7. This will probably be pretty much my last post till Adelaide. Can read all CC posts, but can't post, for some reason when I am on Ship Wifi. For those in iso, hope you clear soon. For those in freedom stay well, and enjoy.💐
  8. That was a nice simple fix. Wished that was all ours was. They were getting maintenance in to try and fix our problem, but we weren't prepared to take the chance that it would come back again, given there was a possibility of more rough weather. I hadn't even considered that the weather was rough that first night. (Have been through cyclone, and lows in the past) But the services guy told me it was.😆
  9. Some of it was in the timber trim around the balcony door. Not the gentle noise of a creaking ship, but, clunking and banging. Because it was a little rough when we left Sydney, the cabin bits decided to protest. Was suggested that it was only because of the weather that night, and would probably be okay when voyage was smooth sailing. But 28 days around our coast, did not bode well. So glad we decided to move. Missed the Freo farewell, etc, being on the wrong side of the ship, but happy with our quiet cabin.
  10. Will be interested to see how you go. Gary tested positive at about 6.15 am on 24th. First test today.
  11. Yes, positive. 10 days in all . 1st day apparently not included. Gary is fine health wise. All symptoms gone. Just has to put up with me coughing etc.
  12. We were led to understand day 5, but were told yesterday that 1st day doesn't count, and then test is "day 6"
  13. Gary had his day 7 test. Got a phone call within 10 mins to say POS. Queried the fast result, and was told that they don't do PCRs, only RAT for post covid, and most likely to remain pos anyway for days, even weeks, so will be in iso for 10 days. Then out no more tests.
  14. Well, I think I may have gotten the point, if it was tongue in cheek. Other wise, have no idea. I put that link in if anyone may be interested.
  15. 🤣🤣🤣. Pretty sure he would have crashed through the lifts glass to get away. And the guy sleeping here beside me in iso, is pretty special.
  16. 🤣. Complaining about a cabin that was banging and knocking on deck 8 Port aft. By 3am, and just the odd doze, it was time to complain. I prefer to do things in person if possible, so I walked down to services. After a little while, the lovely young man at the desk sorted things, He hopped into the lift with me to take me to check out a cabin on 12 Starboard forward. We were given it for 12 hrs, along with deck 8, so I walked back down to 8, grabbed a few things, hubby decided he wasn't wandering around the ship at that hour, so I walked back up to 12. Had a great sleep till hubby came in at 9am. So there you have it. My one and only ride so far in a lift on this cruise with a lovely young man at 2am. We are now enjoying the peace and quiet, not the port side, but great sleeping.
  17. Yes, We always asked for a top sheet. Having to change our own bed clothes now, while in iso, is interesting .😁
  18. Lunch arrived at 1215. A nice schnitzel. So maybe back on track.
  19. Have only used the lift once, and that was at 3am in the morning on the first night. I realise that the stairs aren't an option for many though. And here we are with the dreaded lurgy😆.
  20. Yes, arrived at about 4.15pm. Our morning cuppas arrived on time today, as they did yesterday. Ordered a couple of pastries as well, in case the afternoon wears on with no lunch delivery. But I don't really think that will happen again.
