  1. When do you sail? The golf cart renting has been very frustrating for me. We sail May 26. I finally got a confirmation # from Omar, but he told me he could not take deposits. I mentioned cruise critic and his words were "you cannot believe every thing you read on the internet" Did you make your deposit recently?

I made a reservation through the website listed above on 11 February 2018. I received an email from Omar confirming the reservation and requesting a $10 deposit via PayPal (with appropriate instructions for doing so). I made a $10 deposit via PayPal and got a confirmation of receipt and noting that the remainder of the fee would be do day-of and in cash.

  2. Technically, the Pride relocated to Tampa in late 2014. This was the result of new EPA rules. Here is an article from the Baltimore Sun from that time. I was dismayed when she left but overjoyed when she came back. So much so that I took that wonderful 14 day repositioning cruise to bring the Pride back to Baltimore. Coincidentally, I was also on the Grandeur of the Sea's repositioning cruise when she came to Baltimore (I only rode her from San Juan rather than South America).

As has been noted above, there are only a few classes of cruise ship that can fit under the bridges.

  3. 7:28 Got through customs (mobile passport didn't work)

By "didn't work" do you mean that it failed to work? Or that Port of Miami is not part of the mobile passport app? According to their website, the only cruise port currently supported in Fort Lauderdale. Just looking for clarification. Is their website wrong and Miami has been added?

  4. I was thinking of booking directly with Fury to do a parasailing trip first thing in the morning so that I could wander around for the rest of the day. But their Weather Policy is giving me pause. It states:

    Weather Policy

Fury tours will not depart in unsafe weather conditions. The Captain will assess the weather and should the Captain determine that the conditions are unsafe to run the tour, the tour may be postponed or it will be canceled. Every effort will be made to reschedule your tour during your stay. If you are unable to re-schedule your tour, you will have the option of receiving a voucher for a future trip.

The last sentence is the one causing concern. If you can't reschedule you get a voucher. I am only their for part of one day. Seems that I could get saddled with a relatively worthless voucher that would require returning to this port of call on a future sailing.

Anyone have any information on cruise-specific policies?

    Thanks.

  5. In answering my own question: for the Captain's Club discount on Internet access, call the Captain's Club phone number and speak to a CSR to get the discount. At SELECT level I got a 25% discount:

Select Loyalty 25% Unlimited Voyage: 7-9 Days:

    Total Cost *: 168.00 USD

  6. I am curious about the pricing. I paid for it on Anthem of the Seas and it was great and reasonably priced. My upcoming cruise on Equinox is showing Internet pricing at about 50% more than I paid on Anthem. Can anyone confirm the pricing? 7 nights for $200 (this may include a SELECT level discount).

  7. ...They gave us a cheap, crappy mesh cap that said Anthem Inaugural Season that was too shallow to wear. Really junk.

Have things improved from this lowly state? Sailing Anthem in March and considering the All Access Tour.

I took the "Behind the Fun" tour on Carnival Pride which took us through essentially the same areas of the ship. I think the fee was $150 just like Royal. The tour also included a picture with the Captain, chocolate dipped strawberries delivered to the room that evening, a ball cap (that actually fits!), a light-duty bag, neck lanyard, and a mimosa at the end of the tour.

  8. I agree that you are cutting it close. Once, while returning home from a cruise on the Pride, we were heading southbound on 95. Very little traffic was coming northbound. Then we saw the accident on the northbound side that had shut down all but one lane. The traffic extended for miles.

Certainly there are alternate routes, but this is the sort of thing that always worries me until I am actually ON the ship.

I also agree that hiring a car is your best bet. A rental burdens you with having to worry about directions - and not knowing alternate routes. I am not sure where you would return the car.

I wish you good luck on reaching the port in a timely manner and that you will have a wonderful cruise!

  9. I just booked the Pride today, yay! :D Do you by chance have any pictures of the waterslide? I think I remember seeing in someone else's review that it's green and called the green monster or something like that?

There are two slides. The old, yellow one that is salt water. And the new, green one - the Green Monster - which is fresh water. The Green Monster is awesome. You are nearly vertical in an enclosed "box" with water flowing down the back of it and clear plexiglas through which you can see the slide operator. The floor drops out and you fall then slide. Good stuff. Search youtube for a video of it.

  10. After altogether too much deliberation :) we chose to do an afternoon sail & snorkel with Delphi Watersports the Sunday we'll be in Aruba.

Resurrecting an old thread in hopes of gaining some information.

So, how was the trip with Delphi Watersports??

  11. Carnival notified us that the Pride will be late in arriving tomorrow morning - 1015 is the estimate. So they are asking people to come to the port later than they normally would. I've never done FTTF before but did spring for it for this cruise. I am at a loss as to what time I should show up to take advantage of the FTTF but without having to sit around for 2 hours. Anyone have some insight to offer?

  12. We have already made final payment.......I am considering this primarily for OBC.......Do we have to wait until we get onboard to apply this or can you add it to your account and already have it as OBC before you go......Just looking at less hassle once onboard and less documents to have to bring......Anyone??

I believe that several have reported that it cannot be applied to your S&S account until you have checked-in because your account doesn't actually exist until then.

That begs the questions: can you add it to your account at check-in? After all, you've already stood in line to check-in. Why stand in line again at Guest Services?

  13. Hope someone here has answers for me.

I went to the page following the link from the OP. I read about the 10% but did not see a promotion code.

I ordered 5 $200 gift cards. During the process there was nothing about a 10% gift card.

    Did I do something wrong?

thanks for any help you can give me.

You should get the bonus e-cards sometime tomorrow morning.

  14. I'm fuzzy on some of the rules. Even if you're not a casino player - and even if your projected S&S balance at the end of the cruise is minimal - what would stop you from - hypothetically - Buying a $3,000 gift card, that will come with a $300 promotional card. Adding $3,300 to your Players Account in the casino. Cashing out the $3,300 at the cashier's cage. Basically, this would allow you to walk away with cash and gain 10% on your money, even if you have no intention of spending that money with Carnival. What am I missing?

    Thank you.

I have a cruise in two weeks. Maybe I should buy several thousand dollars worth and do this. Heck, I might even be home before my credit card statement arrive.

  15. I thought the same seeing that. Maybe they thought the flexibility and the longer expiration date made it a better deal? I dunno, as you stated, for specific Carnival use, this gift card promotion is not a bad deal at all.

This is going a bit off topic, but I suppose that if the Office Depot deal is available online then one might be able to offset the fee via a cashback credit card like the Chase Freedom. Sometimes you will get 3 or 5 points per dollar which can add up to significant savings.
