A couple of days ago we stopped by to see if "our" goose babies had hatched. Everyone was gone. There were only a few down feathers and tiny egg shell remains, so it appears that it was successful. We walked around to see if we could spot the family. We saw groups of 6 and 8, but no parents with 5 babies. They must be in hiding until a bit older. We were able to see a pair of swans this time. We don't usually see them in town.

We bring cheap rain ponchos from Dollar Tree. They are a wear once & toss cause you'll never be able to fold them up again.

Weren't you afraid of coming across bears? We saw several on one of our hikes a few years ago. It was a ship excursion and one of the guides had a high-powered rifle "just in case."

This is heartbreaking. My sincere condolences for your entire family. God bless those children too.

Have an awesome time. Alaska is phenomenal. Watch for whales next to the ship when docked. Our Alaska cruise is when we started to go to the buffet for dinner so we could eat outside and watch for whales.

So glad you tested negative. May that be the only negativity you encounter on this cruise. Can't wait to meet you for real in March!

Yesterday was a beautiful day so we decided to ditch the house and go for a walk. The place we went to today was OK. There's not a lot of wildlife but the entire perimeter is paved. (This is the same lake we went to last year and saw the eagle fishing for lunch.) It's close to a number of large office buildings so it does get a lot of lunch walkers. It's about a 2-mike walk so it's perfect for a lunch break. We did manage to see some animals. We saw a family of 8 swimming. Unbelievable that these little guys can swim so early! There's a cute bridge that at the right time of year you can see carp trying to jump the small waterfall. Not today. As we neatly finished our walk we walked close to a small side pond. The frogs were so loud. This little guy was not about to move when we filmed him. Right now It's pouring out, constant thunder & lightning. There's also a tornado watch. On our cruise next March, I signed up to participate in the slot pull. Never done one, not a gambler. I do think I will use my own card tho when it comes to my turn. What can I purchase with my 4 points? Looking for suggestions.😁
