If the cruise is over 6 months out, maybe a TA.
Sometimes the perks are pretty good.
On the other hand some of those travel agencies do charge
a $50 dollar cancellation fee per person. That adds up quick.
I like the freedom of calling the cruise line directly and
not have to wait for the answers.
Our last experience booking with Royal Caribbean was
great, the agent that helped us was super nice and
got us the best rates and a couple of perks.
Plus we have called several times when the price dropped,
dinner reservations, cabin changes, no problem there.

Please keep them coming,
Great review and photos.
Thank you.
Enjoy your day!

Thank you.
The info on this thread is great!

Enjoy your stay in gorgeous Bermuda.
I wished I was there too. :)
-
Thanks for your postings and photos.
Wishing you a great time in Bermuda.
Im sure you all will love it there.
We have been on Athem a few times and Bermuda
a few times.
We really had a great time going around the
island, Jacob's Cove is the best.
Can't wait to go back!

Watching Fox News right now, they are interviewing a
passenger and his daughter by the name Sam Lairson, and
Gabriella. They seem very calm on the interview.
Good to see that. Can't wait to see what everyone on this cruise
have to say. I know it's not easy to stay calm in those
circumstances.

WOW!!
Watching the evening news and the way
everything looks on the Anthem was scary.
This brings back memories "of "El Farro" Why take a
chance with 6 thousand people it's just crazy. This is
a new ship and it's equipped with the latest technology.
I feel sorry for all the passengers that could not enjoy their vacations.
Wishing everyone safe travel home.
We have been on Anthem just this past December and it
really made us sad to see what just happened to the ship.
Just so freaky.
-
Nice to see that they are taking care of you all.
Better a day a sea than a day in the blizzard.
Safe travels..
-
So happy for all the new, fun stuff Liberty is getting.
Can't wait to experience it. We've been on Liberty
3 times and really loved the ship and the crew.
Just wished they have kept it in Bayonne, closer to home.
-
Yikes, looks like the storm will hit pretty hard,
according to the weather channel.
Wishing you all safe travel home.
-
Really enjoying your review.
The pictures are amazing, thanks!
We have never been on Grandeur, looks
like a cozy ship. Have the casino been Radio friendly??
-
Thanks for such detailed review and photos.
Really enjoying it.

I wouldn't call it "very sad"...
Although I don't like these massive upcharges, can you honestly blame them? If people are willing to pay $1500 for a seat in 270 (on Anthem), why would they think twice about charging that amount? Unfortunately, a business is a business, and if people are willing to pay, there's going to be a charge.
I'm sure there are other areas set aside for those who don't want to pay the upcharges.
Is this the first year that these upcharges have existed on the ships?
Yes first year and sad, pathetic and ridiculous.
We are already paying premium prices for these
holiday cruises. We are booked for next years on
Anthem Christmas and New Years cruise and
we do know how pricey these cruises are. We should not
have to worry about these up charges.
-
I don't get your question, but when I pay a 2X or 3X premium to cruise over NYE I am not shelling out hundreds more for a seat in a public space.
RIP OFF
Totally agree. They are doing the same thing on Anthem of the Seas,
with the extra charges. Can't believe the Royal is doing this.
This is very sad..
-
I forgot to mention that we are booked for next year on
Anthem for a Christmas and New Year's cruise.
This particular cruise is very pricey for next year already.
I try not to be negative, but I do not plan on spending anymore
than we have to after final payment.
-
WOW, really??
I saw you are on Anthem right now. Hope you all are
enjoying your cruise. We were on Anthem the second
week in December and really enjoyed our cruise.
The prices for a New Year's Eve cruise are pretty high,
just can't believe anyone has to pay extra to attend 270's party.
We have been on several Royal Caribbean New Year's Eve cruises and
we have never paid any extra, this most be new.
It looks like Royal is starting nickel and dime too much.
Sad to say...
-
Cafe Promenade would be the best place for snacks and coffee.
When we were on Anthem just a couple of weeks back
we notice that there was a fee of $4.95 for room
service after 11 PM. This fee used to be if you
ordered anything after midnight. Not anymore.
-
Not sure what you mean.
We just got off Anthem of the Seas last week and
we did the Ifly and the North Star without paying anything.
-
Thanks for this info.
Great stuff here!
-
It looks like Royal is concentrating more on the new ships.
Some of the best food by far in my opinion have been on Allure,
Oasis and Quantum. Quantum being the best.
We were very impressed by the new menus on Quantum,
and we did not have to pay any extra for the restaurants we
went to.
-
Which of the complementary restaurants are open for lunch
during sea days??
Thank you!
-
The menu at American Icon looks so scrumptious!!
Can't wait to try the short ribs. :o)
Thanks for all the beautiful pictures and reviews!
-
Very good information, thank you.
We are all very excited about our upcoming Anthem cruise.
Can't wait!!!
-
Did you see my post? You can take those same bands on Anthem and have them reprogrammed.
:)
Yes I did, we only have 2 from the previous cruise on Quantum.
Still will not pay for the extra wow bands, totally ridiculous.
We will be happy to use the room cards.
New, new Oasis menus. October 2016 changes.

Ohh bummer,
I see that they are only offering the shrimp cocktails 4 out
of the 7 nights. We always look forward to that.
It used to be all 7 night. Those menus sure look very skimpy,
but prices continue to go up on cruises. Hummm, very disappointed.
Thanks for posting.
