We have done many Regent cruises, and enjoyed most aspects of them. We do, however, avoid buffets whenever possible. I was hoping that after Covid, they would never return to help yourself. It's just never sanitary as people reuse their plates, use their fingers to serve themselves, cough on all of the food, as well as the table cloths at their table, which are quickly reset for the next guests without a change of table cloth or remaining plates and utensils.
Unfortunately, your schedule of excursions gets in the way of meals. I would recommend room service in the morning rather than eating in La Veranda for the breakfast buffet when you have a morning excursion. If you want a lighter meal, the Coffee Connection has great coffee and and a selection of light breakfasts and pastries.
We never eat lunch at the buffet at La Veranda, and I can rarely be forced to eat at Sette Mari for dinner, and eat almost nothing and complain about it when we do. You can avoid the buffet portion of their dinner, but they still serve way more food than I can enjoy eating.
WRT "way more food than I can enjoy eating" - you can simply ask them not to bring the bread/antipasti items when you first sit down. If you feel that the entrees are too large you can request a half-portion and they will happily comply.

As far as new resteraunt concept it would be nice if regent had a resturaunt like salt with regional dishes based on the region the ship is in. One of my big beefs about cruising your are in all these diverse places but unless you eat on shore you are missing out. Imhop.
We have had many Destination Dishes in CR as well as P7 on the current World Cruise. Excellent choices for regions we were/are in.

The two new ships will have a fourth reservation only restaurant; it will be an Italian restaurant. La Veranda will be open each evening as a casual buffet restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Navigator’s deeper draft also contributed to her running aground leaving Benoa, Bali in March, 2018.
We were onboard at the time. What actually happened is that the Captain had to quickly maneuver aside to avoid a small unlit fishing boat in the middle of the narrow channel, thus saving lives.

...and rumor has it that K&B might be onboard Navigator in November....
Never had a duo on Navigator due to lack of a 3rd evening entertainment venue.

Looking closer, I notice that one of the perks is a $350 per cabin onboard credit. 🤑
That's for the visas passengers need to get on their own

Two new ships will be hybrid so they can go into Norwegian fjords and other protected waters. Voyager will be gone in 2026.

Well when we were on the Splendor our toilet almost daily at least one time didn’t flush. Most of the time it flushed in a little while in its own but once or twice we had a surprise……. Guess this means the Splendor is a no go too!
Since the Navigator and the Mariner are old, the Navigator and the Voyager vibrate at some speeds, Grandeur has noisy rooms, the toilets on the Splendor and Mariner have problems…..so all that leaves is the Explorer…. Surely someone can find some problem with her too…. Chair hogs, vibrations, noise, cranky toilers….anything?🤣Sure! I can add something for Explorer
..remember all the "whistling veranda doors" in the early sailings? Someone is now reporting the same problems on that ship. So, yet another ship to avoid? 🤣

Mariner is on the back half of the World Cruise and has the best duo onboard for entertainment and Regent's top General Manager just joined the ship in Singapore. I have friends and family (and myself) onboard on a regular basis and they have all been extremely happy. There have been a few posts about a suction toilet issue back in December (caused by a guest flushing an article of clothing) but it was resolved. Mariner is not as new as EXP, SPLDR and GRDR but has been maintained well. It is due for an extremely extensive drydock in November of 2025.
Kasia and Boogie left for vacation at the end of February. The Vivace Duo took over but is nowhere near as entertaining.

So Miami to New York for sure for 2027? Not round-trip Miami? Sigh. There goes any hope I might have had of convincing DH to delay to 2027. He loves the true circumnavigation aspect of the 2026 round-trip Miami WC. Ah well, I still look forward to seeing the itinerary when it comes out.It IS a true "circumnavigation" - east coast US to east coast US.

Do you know if Drew, the Asst CD is staying on or will he be leaving in S’Pore also?
He is leaving. Both Andrew and Nicole (ACD) are already on board.

Unfortunately that does not work - it throws me back to a 'sign into your account' page, which of course I don't have since no cruise is booked as yet! GRRRR

Thanks to all!

Is there any way to check for shore excursion availability on a particular voyage before you have made a booking? I'm a little late in booking for this year but don't want to book a cruise if the good excursions are already sold out. Thanks!

I don't think so. Looking at your invoice you will not see any breakout of taxes or port fees.

Celebrity has taken it even a step farther. Not only do you pay 200% as a single in a double cabin, but an additional surcharge of around 20%. Why? Because of the lost onboard revenue from that second person in the cabin. I certainly hope other lines don’t adopt this practice.
With those "other" cruise lines....have you considered adding the name of a 2nd cabin occupant who will simply be a no-show at check-in? That would avoid the ridiculous surcharge AND the taxes for that absent person would be refunded.

Does anyone know what is up with the Navigator? We disembarked yesterday morning, and they were supposed to sail to Moorea this morning, but we just drove by at4pm. They were still at the dock.
Probably due to the cyclone. We are on Mariner and will be skipping Fakarava as well as Moorea for that reason, arriving Papeete on the 10th at 9am instead of the expected 9pm

They’re re-routing the world cruise to sail around Africa. So there will be passengers.
The MARINER is the World Cruise ship, now to sail around Africa. Navigator has different non-passenger plans

I'm on Mariner now and it sucks. Unusable. Tried to book airline tickets today with most people off the ship. Terrible. Gave up. Jeez.....
Even tried on Club.com center computers .... no better 😡

If we are unable to safely us the Suez Canal, the re-routing will have to begin well before we are in that area. We have heard that the drop-dead timing for the decision is before we reach New Zealand.
