  1. I’m more surprised that Miami were even willing to discuss anything with a UK customer. Usually you are simply told you have to deal with Celebrity in the country you booked in. If you have used a travel agent, they won’t talk to you at all.

The UK have a back up call center in Kansas, US

  2. Hey Gordon!

What if you do the hop off hop on excursion - you can store luggage at the Bayside Marketplace which is close to the port. And then instead of going back to the airport - just collect your luggage in the afternoon and join the Silhouette!

I know you have done the bus routes before but I guess it beats hanging around for ages.

I am sure you will work something out!

  3. This is information from Celebrity UK - advises that e-visa is NOT acceptable :

    · Guests from the UnitedKingdom and Ireland, amongst other countries, MUST obtain a MultipleEntry Tourist Visa for India before beginning their travel. You can find further information about how to apply onthe Indian Embassy website: https://www.hcilondon.in/pHYPERLINK"https://www.hcilondon.in/pages.php?id=7911"aHYPERLINK"https://www.hcilondon.in/pages.php?id=7911"geHYPERLINK"https://www.hcilondon.in/pages.php?id=7911"sHYPERLINK"https://www.hcilondon.in/pages.php?id=7911".php?id=7911 or go straight to the Regular Visa application form throughthe following link: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/Registration

    · Alternatively you can contact your choice ofvisa specialist or our recommended visa agent, Visa Central on: https://visacentral.co.uk/?login=celebritycruises

    · Please note that the Indian E-Visa is notaccepted for this cruise as the local immigration authorities are not ableto process E-Visas on board our ships.

  4. In the UK - if you book through a travel agent your e docs are emailed to them. If you book directly with Celebrity your edocs are emailed directly to you.

Edocs are no longer available from the website.

May possibly be different for US guests - I dont know ? But the above is definitely the case for UK.

  5. It's annoying, but it's also a known entity. Certain countries require visas for various other nationalities and it's east to check that ahead of time. You had the option to book a cruise that didn't go to China, but you didn't. So you have to comply with the rules, however annoying they might seem to you. I think it's annoying that the US is not one of the countries that can enter Vietnam without a visa, but it's not, and I chose an itinerary that stops in Vietnam, so unless Vietnam changes its rules before my cruise, a Vietnam visa I shall procure....

I haven't chosen the sailing - it was just one I was looking at. And now I wont be taking the sailing as I dont have enough time to arrange the Visa (sailing is next month!). I will one day visit China as I would love to go - but when I have sufficient time to apply for visa.

I was only hoping there was a way have been a way round the visa as I wasn't staying in the country but alas - its not meant to be this time.

I wouldn't mind Vietnam at all - as the cruise liners can arrange the Visas for you and you pay on board.

  6. Yeah its annoying because I would have to go through the complications of getting a visa arranged when Im only going to be in the country for a matter of hours.

American ESTA are alot simpler to apply for - and a lot cheaper!! so dont compare to Chinese Visa.

  7. Hi Guys,

Im looking at doing the following Itinerary - do we think this is covered by the waiver programme? So difficult to find visa information with relation to cruises.

    Shanghai (Baoshan) - China

    At Sea

    Busan - South Korea

    Fukuoka - Japan

    Nagasaki - Japan

    At Sea

    Shanghai (Baoshan) - China

Literally flying into shanghai on day of embarkation and flying home on day of disembarkation. Would be annoying if I have to get a Visa for somewhere Im not actually gonna see!

  8. Too bad this is just now opening up. I know a lot of people booked on the TA were interested in this when it couldn't be booked, gave up, and have made other plans.

For 2016 there is also a gap after the TA and before the first european cruise. Wonder if they will make the same decision for that gap and open it to the non-British passengers.

Not sure what the sense of having it closed to non-British customers was in the first place.

It was closed for everyone - It only just opened on Thursday - For us Brits too!
