Hi, Robyn -
Have enjoyed following so many of your past cruises and just now realized we'll be with you in Cozumel soon on 11/24 (we're on Brilliance) - so with like 5 ships in port that day so if we happen to see you out and about, I'll be sure to say to myself . . . nawwww . . . that couldn't possibly be her . . .
:D
Thanks for sharing your journeys with us and try to keep that great weather going!

John-
What did you use to shoot this video..excellent quality!
Used a GoPro Hero 3+ Black. I think it does a nice job with a bit wider field of view, and thank you!

Was interested in what people's thoughts were related to how much status matters when you have issues or special requests. For example: If I have a My Time Dining reservation for 6:15 each night, but I'd really like it for 6:30, if they see I'm Emerald will they try to accommodate my any more than someone who doesn't have any status? Of if I have some other type of issue where I need to deal with the front desk, will they factor in level of status when deciding how to resolve?
Many thanks.
My personal guess is it's more about how kindly you present the request.

Our TA has a discounted fare on a D2 balcony (Liberty 10/16/16) but when I called them, they said the C&A balcony discount could not be combined with this discounted fare. Has anyone else had experience where a C&A balcony discount did not apply?
I don't think that's new, but I do see some TA's adverts are now better documenting more clearly that C&A balcony discounts sometimes cannot be combined with the offered rates.

YMMV . . . we were in a suite a couple of weeks ago (Oasis) and nothing on the pre-cruise planner, but no problem getting reservations on board. We did invite guests one evening (in advance via the host) and it wasn't a problem.
I'm guessing from sailing to sailing they want to keep a proper balance and that's not something that can be easily ascribed to a one sailing fits all.
My personal recommendation based on what I observed a couple of weeks ago would be to (once on board) connect with the attendant at the entrance and let them know what you'd like to schedule and they'll either help you out or let you know that they can't.
Super nice people all around in this space and they'll do all they can to accommodate.

I am looking for a eastern or western carb. cruise on allure oasis or freedom...Freedom is 499. for a inside a person which is a awesome deal for a 7 night allure is 680 for a balcony. Both have places we have been and not been. oasis is slightly higher at around 709. Anyone have suggestions as to which ship. I have been on liberty last nov.
What top three things are important for you on a cruise?
The video is great. Another observation I have besides no full length mirror, it looks like there is no magnifying mirror at dressing table. I have the port side stateroom 11330, it should have the same deck furniture.
Checked with Debbie tonight - no magnifying mirror in either the bathroom or at the desk.

Thanks you for the pictures and video. I hope it's OK that I've shared them on our Nov 7 Oasis Roll Call. Thanks, John! Your video will satisfy the curiosity of many who have booked (or thinking of booking) this suite. We have it in May 2016, and can't wait!!
Bob
You are more than welcome to share and Bob, I hope you enjoy this cabin as much as we did!

Hopefully this video will work - let me know if not and I'll try and figure it out. Questions & comments welcome . . .
Drove my wife crazy for the week ringing the doorbell every time we entered the cabin. Don't have one that often so I figured we'd get our money's worth . . .

Thanks nacdcruiser, I will be enjoying this balcony Oct. 24th. So glad there is furniture on that ginormous balcony.
We LOVED this cabin!!! I have a video tour that I'll figure out a way to post and will come back to this thread at some point soon to post a link. Technology is not my thing and no time today - but I'll get it done. Hopefully will be helpful to others considering one of these aft options.

I heard that the deck furniture now is the same as the Aqua suites below you. Is that correct?
Photos of that furniture would be nice.
Bob
Here you go, Bob - first time posting photos and not sure how to size so I hope this shows up o.k. There was a third tall stool not pictured but everything else is shown.

I was able to snag one of the new Aft cabins on Deck 11 on Allure, back in April when they first were loaded on the website and booked directly with RCI.
We think you're really going to love it!!!

You could let us know how you snagged such a fine cabin. Did you book direct or TA? When ever I check these afts, only those on 14 are available and I'm not interested in those.
Original booking was a traditional GS on the side. No TA involved with this booking (although sometimes we use one). Kept watching pretty much every day or every other day and worked our way from the side GS to a deck 14 aft, then a while later a deck 12 opened up and ultimately the deck 11 aft we have now opened up.
Each time it was like a surprise we hadn't planned on and I'm really glad we watched. LOVE this cabin!!!

Basically suite perks you get for being in a Grand Suite. Also all things suite lounge and coastal kitchen!! Thanks :)
Here are the current benefits - http://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/en_US/pdf/enhanced-program-for-suites-guests-v7.pdf and starting mid 2016 for Oasis and Quantum class they'll look like this - http://www.royalcaribbean.com/royalsuiteclass
Best I know as of now - someone may clarify or correct if this isn't accurate.

Sorry if this is a stupid question. Can you take your drink out of the suite lounge? I'm just thinking instead of getting the drink package as planned I could go to the suite lounge and get a drink and bring back to pool or where ever I'm at . Thoughts?
Not supposed to, but people do take them out.

Let me know your impression of the bath-tub in your suite.
The one in 14730 was very high off the ground.
Safe journey.
Same here - it is a bit higher to get in and I can see where it might be a problem for some. My wife loves the deck space on the back corner for shaving her legs & setting bottles & towels. I can see how taller guests may have to bend a bit in the shower as the floor of the tub inside is about 6" higher than the tub on the outside (if that makes sense). The single sink works for us and our impressions of the space are good.

I would love to get information on the Prohibition event, if you attend.
Also, can you confirm that beer and wine are free in the suite lounge all day from 11am to 11pm? I know others have said this but I don't know if it's dependent on ship and sail date. It will help me make a decision on drink package.
Thank you!
Have a great trip!
Marilyn
Not planning on attending Prohibition, but I'll see what I can find out. As for the suite lounge, they do offer beer & wine from 11 to 11 and include cocktails from 5 to 8:30. It's a beautiful space!

I heard that the deck furniture now is the same as the Aqua suites below you. Is that correct?

Bob
Almost the same - Suites below have padding (no padding on ours) and more furniture for sure, we have the wicker like furniture with three tall stools, 1 chair with footrest & small side table, two wicker dining chairs with a round dining table and tucked in the back corner are two of the regular pool deck vinyl strapped loungers stacked on top of each other that we could pull out.
I'll get pictures for sure but will need to figure out the posting thing first.
LOVE the suite & balcony.

Will do!

. . . anything we can find out for you this week? Cabin, ship, whatever?
So many of you have helped us over the years, glad to check out whatever we can to return the favor. May take a day to respond - it is vacation after all!

We'll be following along the first week from Oasis and don't yet want to think about the second week!!!

If budget allows, book both, continue to weigh options and watch prices. See how you feel down the road and at some point cancel one & transfer the funds to the other.
If eventually using a TA you may have some fees.

. . . if the family budget easily allows and you'd really look forward to it, always/Always/ALWAYS do the suite.
Enjoy! You'll be so glad you did.
