  1. Depends on your objective. If you want to win big then no strategy will work. On the other hand if you simply want to combine having fun with converting OBC to cash with very little risk then having a strategy works. We use the same system/strategy on every cruise and have successfully turned every cent of OBC into cash.
  2. We work on the assumption that we will be able to access nothing then whatever we get is a bonus.
  3. Quick way to check - go to the Celebrity US site and look at the same cruise.
  4. Not exactly clervoince but the casino give free lessons on roulette, blackjack and craps - very useful for novice players.
  5. To a large extent this depends on your definition of a private tour. In our experience these tours can be divided into 2 types Type 1: where the tour is actually similar to a ships tour but has fewer passengers and usually a smaller vehicle. On these tours passengers have no control over the programme and have no idea who their guide will be. The main attraction seems to be a lower price than the ship charges. Type 2: where you book with a specific guide and you can tailor the tour to your specific requirements. With this type of tour you walk with your guide (no following behind and trying to keep up). The tours can be tailored to your exact requirements. Type 2 is our choice usually sharing with 1 other couple and occasionally with 2 couples.
  6. One reason why we always book a private guide and share the cost with one other couple. No waiting around, we walk with the guide at our pace stopping for coffee and cakes as needed. Lots of choices, our go to organisation is Toursbylocals. Get out, explore and enjoy.
  7. You are missing nothing. It's all about choice. For us the drinks package never works (we don't drink alcohol), as Elite Plus speciality teas/coffee/chocolate are free. Free water and juice from 5 to 7 pm. As Celebrity push the AI option clearly it doesn't work out economically for the majority of passengers. Do the math, factor in convenience and choose what's right for you.
  8. Try opening your cabin door whilst the balcony door is open and you will instantly feel the gale that sweeps through the cabin caused by the Aircon. It also explains the notice on the balcony door telling you to keep it closed. Also as you walk the corridors you can hear the "whistling" sound that's caused when a balcony door is left open. Finally as the Aircon is connected in pairs leaving your balcony door open also has as adverse affect on your neighbors cabin as the system tries to cope.
  9. Enjoy but just remember to tell everyone just how "bad" the slanted balconies are. Thank you 😂😂😀
  10. Not on any Celebrity ship - other than in IV cabins - the Aircon stays on.
  11. Sorry - two other suggestions: 1) raise the matter through TV Consumer programmes ( e.g. Watchdog, Money Saving Expert or Rip of Britain in the UK) it's amazing what happens when Companies are exposed to unwelcome publicity. 2) move to the UK 😀😂😂😂😂😂😂
  12. The perfect answer as to why an IV works for you. Also the perfect answer as to why it won't work for us - we use our balcony for 2 to 3 hours a day on every sea day (we cruise mainly transatlantics and on our last cruise had just 3 ports in 14 days).
  13. Bed by the veranda is our first choice as the extra space when entering the cabin is great especially as the boss (Anita) uses a 4 wheeled walker. Once folded the walker fits neatly between the end of the sofa and the wardrobe. We create extra space by moving the oval table so it fits with the long edge against the wall with half of it under the dressing table top. The chair still fits so you can sit to use the mirror and you can use half the table for storage - a win win for us.
  14. Sorry I misread your post: both are angled. 6240 should have bed by the balcony
  15. Correct - 6240 also has an angled balcony. Both cabins have beds next to the balcony.
  16. I would think your problem is down to you not using your card enough rather than to your income. The more you use a card the more the Credit Card Company will like you especially if you just pay off the minimum each month. We aim to put all our spending on our main card which inturn gives us airmiles for our regular flights to Dallas. We settle the bill in full every month by automatic direct payment thereby ensuring that we pay no interest.
  17. Depends on your drinking habits and internet requirements. We dont drink alcohol and have no need of unlimited WiFi. Elite Plus gives us: free speciality teas/coffees/chocolate, juices from 5 to 7 pm, free water - collect from 5 to 7 pm, 240 minutes each of premium WiFi, 2 bags each laundry plus some pressing and dry cleaning. Great value now we can again book Sail Only rates.
  18. I would clarify what the lower price insurance actually covers Get Covid on the ship and if it's mild you will be quarantined in your cabin probably with a pro rata refund on the cruise fare - no insurance claim. Get it badly and you will be disembarked so your land insurance will probably cover you.
  19. I like the "morphing" makes it more like a natural conversation. Just keep it friendly.
  20. Not guaranteed but they do tend to sit you in the same area and you can ask them to do it. Of course if you turn up at different times and the table you had before is full you will be seated elsewhere.
  21. Thanks. As my wife has health and mobility issues being able to prebook is essential. Just one more reason why we won't be booking E class.
  22. As I understand it you can prebook a table or just turn up. From other posts just turning up can result in long waits at popular times. We always prebook for 6.30 which works well for the 9.0pm theatre.
