Is the wedding performed before the ship leaves port? Can someone come onboard for the wedding then not go on the cruise?
-
I booked online (not thru the cruise line). Premium package was just about $200 for wife and I. Paid a taxi in a classic car 25 cuc to get there and 30 cuc to get back to cruise terminal to a normal taxi car that was right outside the Tropicana. We got there about 8 and it was too early. Waited outside for 30 minutes for them to start seating. However we had seats right at the stage at its center point. Out of sheer luck we had previously met the couple seated across from us so that was great. Pre show live music started about 9 and lasted about 40 minutes. They filled champagne glasses for us. Then brought a small coke for everyone. Ice bucket was already on the table. Then they brought the 4 of us an unopened bottle of 7 year old Havana Club rum. About an hour into the show they brought us another full bottle. Not sure why as the first one was well over half full. We brought it back unopened. The show it self was great. I would highly recommend it is simply iconic. Other drinks were nit expensive. Wife had a pi a colada for 7 cuc and fellow across from us had a Cuban beer for 5 cuc. Men are all given a cigar as they enter and ladies get a carnation. Show ended about 11:40 and we left kinda quickly and got a cab immediately on leaving. Was an evening to remember.

Is there a decent shallow reef near Havana?

We just got off the Jade and loved it. The buffet was the best ever. We were in Greece and hitting a new port every day so sometimes too tired to go to restraunt so was very happy with buffet. Has THe Great Outdoors which we love on sea days. It was cool so never used the pool. Very roomy and easy to navigate. Never had a problem getting a seat for shows which were excellent. Service was great. Ice cream 24 hours and all machines worked. Crew is happy and all worked hard. Washy washy at all time at doors so no sickness on the ship. There were not constant announcements of promotions and photograhers bugging us. All the kids seemed to be having fun but we don't have any. It looks so good my husband thought it was just out of rehab but it is actually ready to go in soon. I've heard the Dawn is not as good as it was when we sailed her and loved her 5 year a ago.

Can anyone tell me if the ROS has islands in the buffet? I have not sailed Royal in a long time, but seem to remember the ship I was on did not have islands which I really prefer. Coming up to final payment and trying to decide to cancel or not. We just got back from an NCL cruise that was awesome.

I booked a 7 day Western Caribbean on RCI for 2/18/17 on 4/23/16 for 1250.46 including port & taxes. That cruise is now $1884.46 with $250 obc. We don't drink and book our own excursions on line and do not eat in specialty restaurants so don't need obc unless can pay gratuities with it. We live in Clearwater, Fl so could easily book last minute but in 10 years have never seen it be an advantage sailing in the month of February. Maybe it would pay in hurricane season. My advice is book early.

Ok. I'll look there. Sounds like 3% is as good as it gets. Thank you.

Thank you. It's a U.S. to Italy trip. My question is "Is the exchange charge at a bank (not ATM) for cash $ to Euros the same as the exchange chsrge if you use the partner bank to withdraw euros from your u.s. bank. In my case, B of A. which is 3%?". Is that any clearer? Thank you for trying to help me.

Is there any advantage to getting dollars in U.S. and exchanging on arrival instead of withdrawing euros from the bank upon arrival? My bank charges 3% exchange rate with their partner bank in Italy for withdrawals.

The three best cruises I ever went on were Premier, Regal and Windjammer. Just shows ya.
-
Windjammer was awesome and the one cruise I remember above all others. They lost a ship in a hurricane and I would guess the lawsuits from the crew members' families killed it.
-
Yes. It does explain it. Thank you.

Can I ask what happened to you Swedish Weave?

This is great. We are going October 5 and I'm printing this out. Thank you. Great detail.

On Carnival, you get Gold privileges if you turn gold on that cruise. On NCL, you do not. Very disappointing for me because this will be turn gold cruise.

I live in 2 different states. I should compare the price but never have. Never really thought it would make a difference.

My Citibank cards covers my flight, baggage, and hotels for cancellations for any reason including a pet emergency. All I purchased was emergency evacuation. I'm over 70 and for the two of us for 3 weeks travel, it was $186. This was the first time I have ever purchased insurance because we will be in Italy and Greece.
-
The only price drop o ever got was posted on Saturday and was good for 4 days. If I had depended on cruise critic, I would have missed it because they send notifications on Friday.
-
I have always booked a year in advance for a February cruise and have never seen a price go lower. If you sail during hurricane season, you will see lower fares. I say set a price you are comfortable with and when you see it, grab it.

I'd like to run something past y'all and see if there is a flaw in my thinking. My credit card covers my travel cancellation and interruption right down to if my pet gets sick. My supplemental medical covers with a $250 deductible. So I do not need anything but evacuation. I've never bought insurance before so had no idea about any of this coverage before but looks to me like I am pretty well covered. I would appreciate hearing if I'm missing something here.

Read the small print and notice the registration fee and cancellation charges that many charge.

My cruise is October 8, 2016 and there are no Inside cabins available. This is the first time I have ever reserved guarantee and I am very nervous. Does this mean we will get a really bad location? Has anyone ever seen this in the past? The ship is NCL Jade.

This was my favorite ship to this day. We sailed out of Port Manatee. Our cabin was huge. I just remember being able to dance on Deck with a live band. And we could walk around the ship behind glass no matter how windy. 20 cruises later, still my favorite cruise.

Carnival has cabins 4J which are inside price but ocean view. Those are the very front usually below the area where the captain steers the ship. I don't get motion sick but we have had no problems. There is more movement but not bad.

For some reason the roll call for Royal Caribbean Rhapsody of the Sea April 6, 2019 does not appear on the normal Roll Call Board. Everyone is having a hard time finding it. I back into from an email but cannot find it the normal way. Can you track down the several different listings, combine them and get them properly listed? I'm sure there would be more people on there if they could find it.
