  1. I caught the only obc I ever got because of this board. I was on several roll calls and never knew about price drops until I got on this board. I was actually on early saver and thought the only advantage was the lower price. I had no idea how the system worked until I got on this board. Posting price drops on this board is a big help.

  2. Once you do Early Saver on Carnival, and get price drops and obc's, its hard to go back. From my experience, it's just a good rule with NCL to wait until late to book because they wait til after full payment date to drop prices no matter how empty the ship is. My whole deck was empty but the price didn't drop until after full payment. Lesson learned. On the other hand, the price drop was very short then it went up to more than I paid. Just know what you want to pay, pay it and forget it. You were lucky they waved the penalty.

  3. I got one price drop and 2 OBC after final payment on a Early Saver, but there were open cabins in my category. My concern was booking a cabin in a very limited category. Why lock in to Early Saver when there would be no chance of a price drop? All these answers sufficiently confused me so I just booked the least expensive cabin and gave up trying for a price drop. I did and do appreciate everyone taking their valuable time trying to assist me

  4. She said she received an email from Carnival saying her request was approved. Last November, we were Early Saver and had s nice letter in our cabin stating an additional OBC when we went to our cabin. Take a copy of your approval letter with you and even if it isn't showing up now, they will give it to you on the ship.

  5. OK. I called and the first person I talked to said she did not know how many 4j there are. She also said there did not need to be an open cabin in my category to get a price drop on E.S. I questioned that answer so i called back and was told by another one that if the next category up was priced lower, I could get the price drop. She told me how many 4J there are and how many 4S there are which is the next category up.

  6. I'm really confused now. Its probably redundant anyway because I'm sure this cruise will sell out with no reductions in price. Its hard to find a cruise to Aruba out of Port Canaveral. Its my only chance since DH won't drive and park in Miami. Just have to decide between porthole on Deck 2 or inside/outside on Deck 7. I read of sewage odor on Deck 2, but it was aft and we'd be forward.
