  1. ! Welcome to cruise critic , Snortingriffon! We also agreed to pay for our gratuities before sailing. I don't think they charge your card until you sail. My booking does not indicate a charge for this yet.

We are also on this sailing, and can't wait. We are looking for someone to get out on that Serenity early to reserve seats for us. If you are interested in helping us out , let me know. We pay big bucks!

By the way, love your username. :-)

  2. We are cruising on the Pride soon in a regular balcony on deck 7. There are 8 others in our group. I noticed that cabins 8234 and 8239 are still available for my dates. It would cost me $200 to move. When I called Carnival to inquire about switching, the rep told me they were handicapped rooms, and that there is a chance we could be moved. Has anyone had any experience with either one of these cabins? I'm wondering how likely it is that both rooms would be needed. We sail in a couple of weeks. Thanks for any thoughts CC members!

  3. We were thinking of taking an Eco tour through the thousand islands from Cocoa Beach. The first tour leaves at 10 am. Anyone know if we could make this if we dock at 7 am? I'm guessing that all the other tours (Disney, etc) will be off the ship by 8. Thanks in advance.

  4. Do it! As long as it doesn't stretch your budget too much. You'll love the room and views. Plenty of space to host and hang out with your family! Most peoples regrets are not what they did, rather, what they didn't do!

Oh my, this is what I continue to believe. I have yet to regret anything that I have done to make life better for others. For myself, it is really difficult to feel ok about.

  5. Thank you for your reply. I did change my rate to senior , adjusting the fare from $2065 to $1680. I put a deposit of $400 tonight with the stipulation to pay the rest tomorrow This gives me time to decide about insurance. Carnival offered us a policy that covers "everything" ( need to read this in the morning) for $95 per person. It sounds reasonable to me. I have used Travelguard in the past so I guess I will call them in the morning.

  6. Thanks so much. I really appreciate your thoughts. I will probably call Carnival tonight to inquire about changing to the senior rate and maybe even their insurance, since it it so close to the cruise. Again, thank you very much.

  7. you would not be able to book the insurance now then cancel the cruise.

They will probably not pay it. But since you are within your window you should be able to make changes no matter what-- (until final payment is due that is when you will have problems

So your thoughts are that I might think about getting insurance after I make the change to the lower senior rate. I wonder if everyone should notify their insurance company every time they make an adjustment to their reservation. Thanks for you input. I see that you are an experienced member, and I appreciate your time in posting your thoughts.

  8. I booked a cruise with a $50 deposit per person. If I cancelled, I would lose $100. Final payment is in one week. Will a company still insure my trip? Should I buy the insurance before final payment? Thanks for any thoughts!
