  1. Agree with pcvtgmom, I get my test tomorrow and leave Saturday from Jacksonville, so far only one booster is required that allows 3 day testing. I guess if the powers to be determine fully vaccinated is two shots and two boosters then things will change. Enjoy your cruise.
  2. I chose interior cabin as solo to help with pricing, since I spend all day on deck the only issue I have is as an early riser I wonder about weather out on deck so I pick the lido channel on the tv to see if it is raining etc before I go out. I hope you will enjoy your cruise and money saved makes a difference especially these days.
  3. I was on Elation in mid May and had a wonderful time, wonderful weather which makes all the difference for a cruise or beach trip, with calm seas no motion at all and I am one who likes the Fantasy class ships and she was in wonderful condition and I really enjoyed my cruise, in fact I am doing back in one week for another 5 days. This one will probably be more kids since school is out but I enjoy my kindle, bucket of beer, TropRock tunes, view of the water, and a shady spot and I am easy to please. Hope you are able to decide on a cruise that suits you.
  4. Yes they have nice paver stones and saw a lot of wheelchairs and sooters on my last visit in May.
  5. I was on this same cruise and agree with your report and it was great to be on a ship so uncrowded.
  6. Covid test 3 days before if you have both covid shots and 1 booster, if no booster 2 days before cruise for test
  7. Was in Nassau May 18 and we were only ship in port and in first spot closest to pier and Elatio with only 1300 on board and I did not see any carts like you asked about but if larger and more ships are in maybe they come out then. We were parked right next to where they are redoing their pier and looked liked quite a project.
  8. Stayed at Hampton Inn Rocky point, had free shuttle from airport, free breakfast, can arrange shuttle to and from ship, 4 minute walk to Bahama Breeze restaurant but if you go make reservation on their app. Everything was easy and everyone was nice and helpful.
  9. I stayed at Hampton Inn Rocky Point and had free shuttle from airport, free breakfast, and can arrange shuttle to port and restaurant Bahama Breeze was easy 4 minute walk but be sure to malke reservations on their website if you go.
  10. I was there May 19 and there is no town but you walk outside the gate where you show your sign and sail card and there were stalls on both sides of the road and the bar, maybe fifty yards long. I am going back in 3 weeks and will go back. I talked to the locals who checked your sign and sail card and I could take my bottle beer back in and they were most friendly and the shops looked nice altho I was only interested in a Kalik. Enjoy your stay .
  11. You can walk outside the gates and there are some local stalls there for souvenirs and there is a small Bar (George') where you can enjoy local drinks at much lower price than bars inside the compound. Local Bahamian beer $4.
  12. I just returned and can report that Princess Caye is accessible for handicapped. They have wide paved paths all on the left as you get off the tender and there were a lot of folks in wheelchairs and on the tender back to the ship there was a lady on a scooter so if you a fold-up one you should have no issues. They all seem to have no problems helping handicapped get off and on the ship and tenders. I really enjoy my time on Princess Caye and hope you have a great time.
  13. I just got off the Elation and was in an oceanview stateroom on the Promenade deck and it was the perfect location and I really like the Fantasy class ships as I can drive to Jacksonville and Mobile in one day this was my 19th Carnival cruise and I am older and don't need all the "draws" of the larger ships any longer. I am afraid that they are going away also and I will hate to see them go for sure.
  14. Got off Elation Saturday and on Thursday they had the Diamond Platinum Party and the servers walked around and handed out drinks and took orders. Cruise director said to order as many as we wanted and he hinted that hors d'oeuvers would be back when things return more to normal. I think I had 4 beers and could have had more.
  15. Visited both in March and they are close to each other with Krazy Lobster first one from the port and Tropicante a very short walk down the Malacon. When we visited Krazy Lobster was more crowded than Tropicante but Tropicante had more room to move around. Either one or both as we did will work.
  16. Cruising out of Jacksonville soon and can anyone tell me what time they open the parking lot for entry? Appreciate any help.
  17. as a Platinum I was able to check in two days before the rest of the cruise so I was able to get an early check in time. So what you suggest would not be an issue for me. Maybe others who have experienced what you propose will be able to answer your question.
  18. Those who receive upgrade offers I am curious if you received the offer via email or from your booking info on the web site.
  19. March 24, 2022 did our second excursion to Caye Caulker with Coral Breeze and wanted to let all know that this is an excellent trip and this company is first rate and take care of their customers. I too was worried on my first trip about missing ship etc that makes it easy to make a snap decision to use a ship excursion but as we walked past lines of people for ship excursion you realize you are doing something different. They met us (3) and took us to a dock by the Radisson Hotel just around the corner from port. We waited on 5 people and Star was concerned that if they did not show they would have to cancel for just the 3 of us. Realize this happens to even ship excursions but explained to her how this was our second time to CC and how much we looked forward to making this trip. She made a call and said if the other 5 did not show they would send us to CC so we would not miss our trip. Well they did show finally (5 young women who live in Belize City) and they were doing the shark alley snorkel but we were just going to the island. It is about 45 minute boat ride and Captain Jimmy was an excellent captain and the young lady who led the snorkel was excellent with history of area and info on ocean etc. They dropped us 3 at the split and off they went. We spent the next few hours at the Lizard and had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying cold beverages. We were picked up at agreed upon time and we got back and got on 4:15 tender and sat on tender for another 45 minutes until returned to ship, wish I had that extra time on CC. Concerned about this trip I hope this makes others rethink as Star and Coral Breeze are very competent and run a safe excursion and much cheaper than being on a huge ship excursion. If I can answer any questions or concerns I will answer or email Star as she answered all my questions as we had to deal with Daylight savings time and two hour time difference.
