  1. So a Blue Moon beer should be assumed to cost $11 or more since it is in the Premium package? Wow....
  2. We are to be aboard Nieuw Amsterdam November 13-20. This will be our first Holland America trip since before the pandemic. Can anyone tell us if the Elite Signature Beverage Package (for all drinks up to $15) allows us to buy more expensive wines by the glass and pay the difference between $15 and the price of the more costly wine? This is how it is done on Celebrity, but unsure of Holland's policy. Thanks!
  3. My wife won the "free" cruise at the end of Deal or No Deal on our late March Constellation cruise out of Tampa. Sadly, the awarded cruise was for an inside cabin on Infinity during four weeks in late summer. We had to choose the cruise within 72 hours, and upgrading was not allowed. The taxes and port charges, though small ($270 total) were due by the end of the 72 hours. We found that we could buy the same cruise, including taxes and fees for $560 if we hadn't won the free cruise. In the end, we declined the prize and they gave us $25 in casino credit instead. It was fun when the sinner stopped on "Free Cruise", though.
  4. Unfortunately, by the time you learn that you have won the bid to upgrade, you won't be able to cancel or change the other room. We won the upgrade to the 2-bedroom Grand Suite on Liberty a few weeks ago, and loved it. But we didn't have the issue you face...
  5. My wife and I have sailed the six larger cruiselines mentioned by many. Carnival, Princess, Royal, Holland, NCL, and Celebrity have made up the majority of our cruises (63 to date). We've enjoyed every one of them, often for different reasons (food, a special server, new "play" options onboard, layout), so I won't denigrate NCL or any of these companies. What we are learning is that as we age (we are 64 and 60), is that we appreciate the more sedate atmosphere, and the more mature passengers, we see on Holland and Celebrity. We like to dress up, so Holland gala nights are fun, and we like the Music corridor on many Holland ships. NCL has been fun when we go with our kids or large groups, but it is quite active, at times crowded, and the dining does need some pre-planning to get best value. Any cruise is awesome, but Holland and Celebrity seem to be fitting us better now. We utilize balcony rooms on most cruises, and have only done suites a few times on Royal (where we have Diamond Plus status).
