I noticed yesterday that Carnival had changed their pre-cruise testing policy for boosted guests to require a negative test at least 3 days prior to a cruise, rather than the previous 2 day requirement. Today I read a post indicating that Royal Caribbean will also make this change sometime this week. I was just wondering if anyone"in the know" has heard if Regent will also make this change? With us flying in to Miami from Canada it would reduce the number of tests we would have to pay for. I did read the updated CDC policy guidelines and it does appear that they made this clarification a few days ago.

We are on the Splendor right now and are continuing into next leg of 14 days. We were texted this morning and just got out negative results on our cellphones. Those returning tomorrow to a foreign country got PCR test and will get written results sent to their stations later tonight
Thanks so much for this information!

As Canadians, we will require negative PCR tests to return to Canada. I've been hearing conflicting reports of the timing of the tests provided by Regent. Most say that they are performed on board about 24 hours prior to the end of the cruise, but I just read one review claiming the test was done at the port after the cruise (which of course provides little time to get the results prior to boarding a flight home). I was just wondering what the experiences have been for CC members? We'll be sailing on the Splendor March 7-17 and are just wanting to be prepared for all eventualities.
Thanks!

Hello everyone. We will be on the Splendor on the March 7 sailing. I was just wondering if dancing is allowed? Are masks required. Thanks in advance!

I was just wondering if somebody who is on this sailing could ask Kasia and Boogie how long their contact is? My wife and I are hoping they will still be on the Splendor when we sail next March.
Thanks!

My wife and I are eagerly anticipating our next Regent cruise on the Explorer in January, and as we were talking about it, we came up with a topic that we just couldn't agree on. My wife insists that on all of our past cruises it was not possible to get coffee "to go" (ie in paper cups). I'm pretty sure we could, but now I'm starting to doubt myself. Can anyone clarify? Thanks in advance!

We're starting to get ramped up for our upcoming cruise on the Navigator on November 11. I was just wondering if anyone knows who the CD and entertainers will be at that time?
Thanks in advance,

My wife and I were also booked on this cruise. Our TA let us know of the change about 10 days ago. We were definitely not interested in an all-Cuba cruise, and our TA was able to switch us to a different cruise (at a completely different time of year) at no additional cost.

Getting back to the age range on Regent cruises, my wife and started cruising on Regent about 8 years ago when we were both 45, and have done 1 or 2 Regent cruises per year since. We definitely are on the younger side of the scale, but as others have said, you are just as likely to find an engaging, athletic 80 year as you are to find someone in their 50's that is far less active. We were on one cruise that skewed VERY old - I joked to my wife that it seemed like every adult male on the cruise had fought in World War II! And yet, that was probably our most enjoyable cruise. It was full of people that we truly enjoyed meeting and made several life-long friends on it. In fact, the one cruise we had that had a much younger complement of passengers was our least enjoyable cruise on Regent. So, you never really know. Just go with an open mind. We have had several Regent cruises where we have danced at the disco long into the night (and others where we are the only ones on the dance floor the entire time!).

We had this happen for one cruise a few months ago. We had our travel agent contact Regent, and although Regent said nothing was wrong on their end, the excursions magically showed up on the website within about 30 minutes :-)

Here is another vote for more evening deck parties. Some of the best times my wife and I have had on Regent were at deck parties with Lorraine belting out the songs and the entire dance cast partying with the guests. Every one we have been at has been very well attended.

Does anyone know who will be the Cruise Director on the Voyager this June? Any information on entertainers, etc?
Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the update - I appreciate it!

The excursions magically showed up after my travel agent called Regent. Regent said there were no issues, but I suspect somebody forgot to enable something on the back end.

Favourites:
Kotor, Montenegro
Taormina (actually the climb up to Castelmola)
Rome (we usually do it a few days pre-cruise but I think it qualifies as a port!)
Flåm, Norway
Tokyo
Antigua (that is where we honeymooned so it has a special place in our heart)
Ports we would rather stay on the ship for:
Nassau
Ancona
Busan
St. Lucia (I know it is beautiful but I think we have been there too many times!)

Boogie and Kashia are our favourites too! Is there any chance you could find out what their future schedule is? We were hoping they would be on the Voyager in June or the Navigator in November.

Sorry, for clarification, at all ports there are no excursions listed at all (neither free nor Regent Choice).

I went to book our excursions for the November 11 Havana Rhythms cruise, only to find that there are no excursions available for any of the ports. This is the first time that this has happened on any of our Regent cruises. I'm just curious if anyone is seeing this on other cruises in that timeframe?

Another Canadian here who uses a US travel agent that just recently has been able to offer CDN dollar pricing. Interestingly, we have booked one cruise in Canadian dollars that was quite advantageous to us when compared to the exchange rate at the time. On the other hand, the cruise we booked last week had terrible pricing in Canadian dollars - it was far more advantageous for us to get the US pricing in that case. So, the moral of the story is to ask your TA for pricing in both currencies - don't assume you are getting a good deal just because it is in CDN dollars.

We have seen some individual couples ballroom dancing on a couple of Regent cruises, but certainly nothing organized. You might want to look at Crystal as the one cruise we did with them definitely had a focus on ballroom dance (complete with "gentlemen companions") ;p.

We have had a half dozen Regent cruises embark and disembark from Miami, and all have used Terminal J. We have never had an issue disembarking - the process has always gone very smoothly for us.

Here is another vote for the Epic. We have stayed there several times and have loved it every time. The view from the restaurant/lounge is amazing!

Please excuse the question: We have only sailed with Silversea and Seabourn however, we are booked on a cruise with Regent in June out of Venice for 10 days, really looking forward to that.
I have been sent an offer by a TA for Crystal cruises (South Africa) over the Christmas period which is a fantastic deal.
Can anyone please advise if Crystal compares with SS, Seabourn or Regent please? Flights WiFi and drinks are included in the package.
Thank you in advance for any replies.
My wife and I have been on 8 Regent cruises and one Crystal Cruise. We were on the Crystal Serenity last year on an Asian cruise (Shanghai to Tokyo). Our experience was that for the things that are important to us, Crystal we as good as if not better than Regent. However, there was one thing that completely turned us off of Crystal, and that was the attitudes of the passengers. This was one segment of a World Cruise, and most of the passengers who were on the entire World Cruise would not speak to those of us just doing one segment (I'm not exaggerating - they literally would not speak to us). We even encountered instances of guests who did speak to us (or others who were just on the one segment) being ostracised by the World Cruise group for doing so. It was the most bizarre cruising experience we have had in our 25 years of cruising. It also got tiring hearing discussions of how many Bentley's, etc they owned.
We chalked it up to bad luck with that particular group, but perhaps this is a more frequent occurrence? One of the things we love about Regent is that although it obviously requires a certain level of economic independence to sail on such a line, the guests never seem to act like they are above anybody else. Most Regent guests seem to be very down to earth and friendly.
This is just one experience, so take it for what it is worth, but it certainly soured us on Crystal despite the actual cruise itself being quite wonderful.

Does the Mariner have a duo on board if they have is it Sasha & Boogie.
On our last cruise (March 28 - April 8), the Spontaneous Duo were alive and kicking up a storm. They were the best entertainment on the ship by far in my opinion. :D

Any word on what the entertainment is like on the Navigator right now (bands for dancing, etc)?
