  1. We’re on the same cruise and I received that email today also.  Read it, didn’t think much of it…they are just reminding you to check visa requirements etc. and bring your  Covid cards if you’ve got them. 🤷‍♀️ Sounded like a standard travel FYI email to me, as other poster said - covering their bases in case any countries suddenly impose new restrictions.

  2. Wow! Thank you so much for this astonishingly thorough report! No one could ask for more!

Do you know if it’s possible to get reservations for Choir of Man on board? We booked last minute and very few options for pre booking ANYTHING exist. While this show is raved about there doesn’t appear to be any other production shows or one-offs? In the theater. 🫤 Entertainment seems to be more smaller venue comedy shows n such?

yeah, my only problem with the once a day is you never know when your cabin is going to get cleaned.  I also like taking an early afternoon nap, but a lot of times, the cabin isn't cleaned until late afternoon.  When it was still twice a day cleanings, I would often turn on the "do not disturb" sign in the evening to skip the 2nd cleaning.  But at least the cabin was cleaned each morning

Totally agree. Once a day is actually preferable to me - I don’t like anyone coming in the room later in the day. But LATE afternoon service, anywhere (hotels included) is a pet peeve of mine.

duberville:   we also on Oct 15th sailing , last minute for us also, well actually booked in August, so hoping for a not at capacity sailing!!!!  Price so right and we can drive to Port

Oh lovely that you can drive to port! We are flying in from the East coast. Our original plans were to visit my brother who lives in Victoria. Circumstances changed and we were left with “oh dear, what to do, what to do”? Found this cruise! Now I’m getting excited about visiting Alaska. (Will be taking the ferry over to Victoria after the cruise)  🙂 But yes agreed - I so appreciate these trip reports!

Waiting to get off Summit. I upgraded prior to the cruise. No Decoy Cab, no Villa Maria SB from day 1.  All bars but casino ran out of Aperol. DD drinks white zin which was hard to find also. Some nights, no classic Pinot Grigio in MDR and DH was not offered anything else.
We enjoyed the cruise but did find it annoying.

Just got off this cruise also. Wine definitely was an issue - we gave up asking for any specific wine as they never had it. Alternatives were offered, some okay, many  not. 😬 Not a deal breaker for us, but if you are a total wine aficionado, be prepared for disappointment. No problem getting the premium liquors etc.

  6. Summit cookies are awful. Hard, dry store bought looking/tasting things…usually only chocolate chip or sugar free PB. They used to have great cookies. We’ve been so disappointed in Cafe al Bacio offerings this cruise.

  7. I’m also on this cruise. We are definitely at or very near full capacity. If you sail now expecting social distancing and mask wearing you will be sorely disappointed. Tables for 2 in the MDR have always been 5 inches away from each other. 🤷‍♀️

We wear our masks and use the stairs when it makes sense - it is what it is.

They do have staffing issues but I expect this will be resolved as the summer progresses…not so confident about the supply issues.  🤷‍♀️

This is our 6th cruise on the Summit. Likely our last.

  8. I downloaded the app on my iPhone but actually did the test by going directly to eMed.com on my laptop. That site immediately sent me an email with my results - which I printed (like a hard copy).

My issue - my results never did show up in the app. I might call, but I don’t see why I would need them showing on the app itself apart from having a convenient spot/storage for all Covid test results. 🤷‍♀️

They don't sell the ticket books at the Visitor Information Centers. They are not available at the Dockyard. They are sold at the Hamilton Bus Terminal,  Hamilton Ferry Terminal and at post offices.

    Okay, question please.

Can we buy as many tokens as we wish at the Dockyard? Not a book of 15 or a day pass …say 4 for 2 return fares to Hamilton?? We are on the June 2nd Celebrity Summit cruise and will be in Bermuda on a weekend (wrecked all our plans and I don’t think the passes are worthwhile now). Also - someone mentioned “cash”. if we don’t buy tokens can we pay with a $5 bill each way on the ferries? No?

Thanks for any help! (Haven’t been to Bermuda in several years and always bought the 2 day pass)

I once left an IPhone on an elliptical machine in the gym.  I returned and it was gone.  I gave security a time window, and via security video they tracked the passenger who took it all the way to his cabin, then flagged his seapass card.  When he tried to get off in the next port, lights went off and he was confronted, and told he'd not be allowed to go anywhere until he produced the phone.  I had it back soon after.  Hats off to ship security.

    Wowzas! 😳👏🏻

It is time for people to continue to think about the greater good then their own selfish inconveniences.

I’m all for CDC guidelines in general,  but this particular rule of testing to fly home is out of step with the rest of the world and sure hasn’t raised the country up to a beacon of success on the Covid front. Other countries have dropped testing to enter, and still have much better numbers.

I wear a mask everywhere I go and will do so on my cruise…you know,  policies that actually work.

But only the US of the major countries requires its own citizens to test before returning home. The Canadians, Brits, Italians, French are home free to return home. Once again, we are behind.

Yep, it’s ridiculous at this point. My SIL in Canada has booked a European cruise and asked if we wanted to join them. NOPE! Not until the US removes the test to come home! (She and her husband have traveled numerous times without the worry about getting back home like us). 🫤

  13. Yes that’s how I recall it…rather dreary. I was considering it for a couple hours during our last afternoon in Bermuda (always nervous of being too far from the ship), but there is no way I’d pay $75 for what I remember - perhaps it has been improved? 😬. Anyhoo…Horseshoe IS on the schedule! 👍🏻😉

We went to Snorkel Beach on our Norwegian Joy Cruise week of 5/15. Its as open and perfect. Walked over. I think the price went up entrance for 2 and two chairs was 75.00 I think for the day.Including a bottle of water each.

Haven’t been in several years but wozas that sounds steep! $75 for 2? Do you recall what admission only was? I can sit on a towel! Haha! How was the snorkeling?

Yes, we always use our iPad, but it is helpful to have someone there to hold it for you. I hold it for my husband and he holds it for me because you do have to change the angle.

We plan on using our iPads…I can see holding it for each other for initial instructions but then do you place it in a tripod thing or something to point at the test for 15 minutes?? A bit nervous about the entire process.

  16. I’m amazed that some people think they are safe on a ship because everyone is at least partially vaxxed and tested negative 2 days before the cruise. So you test and then travel to the ship, planes, trains, whatever - exposure! And who knows how many of those tests simply didn’t pick up it up THAT DAY. Then you get on a ship - what does everyone do on a cruise ship? Haha! Eat and drink - masks don’t even come into the picture…and social distance in the MDR? C’mon!

This variant is ridiculously transmissible. We are cruising fully prepared to contract it. Also - I will be much more concerned with the passengers than the crew.

  17. We cruise on the summit next week. Going with the expectation of being exposed to Covid and likely getting it. So much time spent eating in the MDR etc…2x boosted, always wear our masks indoors…but c’mon, a full cruise ship? This variant is so contagious…not even confidant of testing negative to get on the ship! 😬
