Live from the Vista - March 27 (Miami) to May 1 (Trieste)
durberville replied to Hlitner's topic in Oceania Cruises
Wow. Iād be terrified if any alarms went off while we were sleeping! Sounds like the situation will be resolved. Extra time in beautiful Dubrovnik will be lovely but Iām sorry you are missing Kotor. -
*sighs. Thanks for the honest review but man o man am I bummed. Have booked our first Oceania cruise on the Regatta for October (25 days). Sounds like it will be a floating nursing home with poor food. I convinced my husband to try this line since weāve become disillusioned with Celebrity. Full of regret now. š

The pace of meal courses asideā¦I am becoming more and more worried about the observation that Oceania ships become ghost towns shortly after 10pm! I think Iāve made a horrible mistake. What exactly is the demographic on these ships? Some āgo to bed at 8:30pmā š³ -
Oceania is now adding "FREE!!" pre-cruise hotel???
durberville replied to Psoque's topic in Oceania Cruises
My apologies - I DID misread your post. I was shocked at the rate Oceania gave me and itās coloured my opinion on their hotel packages! Haha! šš» -

Interesting. I was quoted a price of $898 for a pre-cruise hotel night in Los Angeles and $1,040 for the night after our cruise in Tokyo. I declined š³ If those rates are half of what you would normally pay - my hats off to you, Iām not paying that for one night. -
I am interested in this also. We really enjoy lectures (not a fan of bingo or trivia). First time Oceania cruisers and hoping interesting lectures are part of every cruise. Yes?ā¦No? ā¦You better buy some bingo cards? š¬

Yes I donāt understand the 1 connection per stateroom. I think that issue is resolved with Simply More.

Are "Elite Vacation Consultants" permanently assigned
durberville replied to patty1955's topic in Oceania Cruises
No I believe it has been reduced to 14 days. (I transferred mine over - I didnāt like my Oceania rep either) -
I must say that now Iām a tad apprehensive about our first Oceania cruise. We have booked an excursion package which used all of our shorex credit and an additional $1000 or so on our CC. Most of our tours are scheduled for the last week of our cruise (Japan) because weāve done most things āAlaskaā. If rumblings are correct it is likely (or at least a good chance) we will have ports/tours cancelled near the end of the cruise with no opportunity to use the shorex credit. This is a worry - one I hadnāt really considered. š

Haha! Point taken. We are trying Oceania because we have become disillusioned with Celebrity, but I have always enjoyed the warm welcome, and yes, the proffered glass of bubblyā¦whatever it is! š -

Geeez Celebrity even greets you with sparkling wine. Itās a nice touch. -
š³ We have always chosen the ālate diningā option on other lines. 8:30pm is perfect for us. This situation sounds horribleā¦.

Question about availability of excursions
durberville replied to lackcreativity's topic in Oceania Cruises
Agree with booking excursions as early as possible, but could someone clarify the refund situation? Iām reading NO refunds for missed or ship cancelled Simply More excursions, so expecting a refund and the ability to use it for another booking doesnāt seem to applyā¦.interested because weāve used our Simply More Shorex credit and have paid for the remaining balance on our CC. To muddy the waters - I would expect to have our CC refunded for any cancelled tour but I what if we hadnāt paid extra? No refund at all? (I find this issue really confusing šµāš«) -
We are first time Oceania ābookersā also. I just wanted to agree with your trepidation after reading the reviews on Cruise Critic. We wonāt be on the Sirena but its sister ship the Regatta and Iām honestly baffled by the amount of negatively in stark contrast to word of mouth. Much more than any of the other lines weāve sailed. Is this unique to Oceania, because itās very odd?ā¦ā¦and small bathrooms arenāt a deal breaker for me but wow on the general negative āreviewsā. š¤

Haha! Iām all about the bread on vacation - dessert doesnāt interest me, so bring on that basket! šš»šš»šš„

I follow Jacques on Facebook. He prepares his recipes and posts the videos on a regular basis. Still going strong. (Wonderful artist also).

Oh dear. Stay well, hopefully it will ārun its courseā š¬ soon. Glad they havenāt cancelled shore excursions.

Just wondering about Riviera September 2024.

Whatever floats your boatā¦err ship. My only concern following said cruise would be unclothed skin on furniture - cuz āewwā!. Surely they must sit in towels?? š¬ -
Oceania does not refund port taxes for skipped ports
durberville replied to Sdancer's topic in Oceania Cruises
Reminds me of booking our first cruise back in the day. I thought I was getting a steal because it was advertised as 60 - 70% off or something - and my brother, an experienced cruiser, said ālook at the book price - thatās what they are going by - NOBODY pays those prices!ā Haha! I was so deflatedā¦.but here I am 40 years later with a bit of knowledge under my hatā¦.but agree - those percentage off prices are totally misleading. -
Yes I was thinking it might be because there are other bookings with different promotions and that is why the 2 beverage packages are shown. But why does it give me a price for picking the package I am already supposed to have included at no extra charge? Not just an option to upgrade? In fact, I canāt find anything in my online booking which indicates I have a package at all. š¤·āāļø Glad I have a hard copy showing amenities. But thank you, Iāll have to call.

Hi all! First time Oceania cruiser here. I just booked a cruise for October under the New Years Sale with the Simply more promo. My invoice says āsimply more house beverage packageā under amenities and gifts, and yet when I go to manage my account I see āview and shop beverage packagesā - then I have a choice of āHouse Select - wine + beer by the glass w/mealsā (for a tidy sum!) or the premiere package (for an even tidier sum! Haha!) Presently ānoneā is selected. š³ What the heck? Is this a website glitch? Anyone else? I was able to use my shore excursion credit and all selections appear in my account. So confused.
