  1. Welcome to Princess.

I can't help you too much, here is what I know:

    3. the All Inclusive Beverage Package (AIBP) give you cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks. It is about $50per day per person. a 15% gratuity is added to the cost. Covers drinks under $10. If drink cost more you pay the excess. Actually - if a drink is over $10.00 you pay the entire drink price plus gratuity. Thankfully there are not many drinks over $10.00. You also get 40% off bottles of wine up to $100.00. The total for the package is $56.35 (US) a day. It also covers the brewed coffee and fancier espresso type drinks at the International Cafe.

    4. No formal night on 3 night cruise.

I assume you have change the name on your travel companion's reservation.

    See Red type above, too

We always try to board as early as possible and go to the MDR that is open for lunch, usually only till 1;30. Most crew will try to steer you towards the Buffet, but look at you Princess Patter and it will note which MDR is open for the Boarding Lunch. Less hectic than the HC and great way to start the cruise.

If you are in the Piazza area around 3:30 PM there will be a cart serving hot, freshly baked, cookies and cold milk. A nice afternoon treat.

  2. ok...never mind!! They just called back and we got the owner's suite! I am BEYOND excited, lol

Congrats! Its been hard to go back to a balcony after we had our first suite upgrade offer. Out of the last 3 cruises we booked online, two had offers which we snapped up. I'm hoping for good luck on our upcoming May CA Coastal. Probably wont be as important to us after I get Elite in May, but the extra room and Sabatini's are nice.

    Have a great cruise!

  3. I do like a good Bloody Mary on occasion and everyone seems to either have their own knack to it or it's just the basic..anyone know what a person can look forward to? Also price?

Here is a link to a drink menu. 1st page under Vodka Cocktails, Ultimate Bloody Mary $8.95. I have seen them being made many times and they appear to be a good value for the price, pretty much like most of the drink menu items.

  4. I want a covered balcony for alaska, can anyone recommend a good minisuite on the Coral that you've been in? Thanks

We were in the aft corner mini suite C727 for our Alaska cruise. It was absolutely great! It is uncovered and I originally was concerned, but we had perfect weather on the cruise. If you are shy, I would not recommend the cabin as it is just feet away from the aft viewing area on the Caribe deck. We loved talking to people and sharing the wonderful vistas. There were a few times that we heard the door to the viewing area slam, but it never interrupted sleep. For some reason I can not upload the pictures of the balcony that I have so if you are interested email me and I will send them to you.

We plan on getting the same cabin the next time we go to Alaska.

  5. Sitting at muster. Catalina is scraped for San Diego since the tenders can't handle the rough seas. So we'll see how that turns out. Kids' club lady says kids must be early to club or there might not be room. That is nonsense. There are fewer than 200 kids on board. Is this the ship where the other poster had the problem? Princess will hear about this. Haven't seen the menu yet. More later.

My two sons and their best friend are on the Cruise, too. I'll be thinking of them while I am driving to work today. Even a rainy Cruise is better than work - haha. Hope you all have a great time, and may the only foam you see be on the wake!

  6. Does anyone know if these chocolate drinks are served on Regal and, if so, where? http://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/food-and-dining/chocolate-journeys/drinks-photo-gallery/

I have only found the Chocolate Journey drinks in the Wheelhouse bar. I have been on 3 Cruises this year on the Star, the Crown and the Grand and that was the only location that had the menu with those delicious drinks. I never asked for them at other bars as I enjoy the Wheelhouse, so they may be available at other locations. They are all more expensive than the other "normal" drinks, around $12.00 each, so they are not covered by the All Inclusive drink package.

    Hope you enjoy them!

  7. We were on the Coral for Alaska last year and it was perfect. We just got off the Star a week ago and it is a great ship as well, but for Alaska I would definitely pick the Coral due to its size and passenger numbers. We were in C727 for Alaska so we had a beautiful balcony with a view to the side and (partially) aft, and also the great viewing area at the aft of the ship just outside our door!

  8. Has anyone found that navigating Princess website to see cabin availability has gotten more difficult? Was just checking to see cabins available on my cruise and found it so hard to see each section at a glance. It seems they changed their website.

It has been odd for me as well for the last 3 days I have been on it. Just the portion of the website when checking on the availability on staterooms during booking. It is very annoying and I hope they fix it soon. :D

  9. We have been in suites twice and have enjoyed it as it fit in our budget for that particular cruise. When I took the survey the "add on" amenities did not really add anything for me. I don't think I would use it even if it was available, but I can understand why some would like it.

  10.

Charges for port shuttles were $10 or even $15 yet a taxi was way cheaper

The Alcohol policy has become ridiculous

    The coffee is pure dishwater

and the food very little better in many instances

even the most travelled passengers with over 2000 days were not impressed

What has changed with the alcohol policy or what was it that bothered you?

  11. We are on the Star in November from Vancouver to LA. We have done the southbound coastals for years and never had any issues with the weather. We bring a coat/jacket for evenings and always enjoy MUTS. We actually enjoy the cold temperature as we live in So Cal and dont get much of that. Hope you have a great cruise!

  12. I bought the coffee card only once. It was originally blank, but the staff in the IC wrote the ship name on the back, therefore, I wound up paying about $10 each for my coffees. Never again.

Did you only get a few coffee drinks? If so, the card is good on any Princess ship - its only the fresh brewed coffee that is for the cruse you buy the card on. Just bring it on your next cruise and the lattes will continue as long as you have un-punched locations on the card. :)
