  1. Did they let you stay in the cabin later than 8:00AM due to arriving late?
  2. For those onboard, do you know how long will they delay disembarking to wait for luggage to get to terminal?
  3. In January, on the Viking Venus, we arrived 2 days late due to weather. We were lucky that we planned on staying with friends for 3 nights in England before going home. Those waiting to board were put up in hotels. Bad situation.
  4. We are on the next cruise. They notified us earlier that there would be a 2 hour delay. They said it could be later based on weather. They are sending an update at 9:30.
  5. Thanks so much for this information. We won’t head down till you dock.
  6. We were also on the Montreal to Miami cruise. I was very disappointed in the sight lines. They were so bad, I didn't take any photos of the shows like I normally do. There was plenty of leg room, where we didn't need to stand up when people walked by. We did need to move our legs over though. We loved the comedian. The production shows weren't that good, but I don't expect them to be on O.
  7. I think they are basically the same. Below are descriptions and photos of the Jacques Lobster Thermidor from my 2016 Riviera cruise. Below is the Vista Maine Lobster Baked in Shell. The main difference is that the Vista one was a much bigger shell rather than two smaller ones in Jacques.
  8. One of the reasons we booked the Aug 2025 Polynesian Dream cruise was that Aug and Sep are Tahiti's coolest months.
  9. Not at all. Never heard a thing. You have nothing to worry about. Enjoy your cruise.
  10. That was what I was referring to, but it only shows if you have signatures turned on.
  11. Theres a lot to review. So many choices! That’s a good thing. 😄
  12. Since the OP hasn't replied, perhaps they have found a tour, but if not, here are my recommendations. We also used Overlord for Normandy. It was from LeHavre with a 2-hr bus drive, but a wonderful tour. We used Westcapades from St. Malo for Mt St Michel. They also did a fine job.
  13. Thank you for the very nice comment. It is most appreciated.
  14. I thought that I had mine turned off, since I only see about 3 lines of a signature. I think that was a change CC made a while ago. Since I wasn't seeing everyones full signatures, I thought they were turned off. I guess that I will just have to depend on helpful folks like you to put in my URL. 😀
  15. That’s interesting. I’m seeing two lines of my signature. Do you see an “expand signature” button?
  16. Hi Lyn, Thanks for putting in the link. I understand most people don’t want to see all signatures, me included; but at the bottom of my posts the top of my signature shows with the website URL. 😄
  17. If you look at the bottom of my post in the signature you will see it.
  18. Actually I shouldn’t have compared them since we had a Viking Penthouse Veranda. But it was about the same price per day. The new Vista is higher than the others.
  19. Thank you. I will give you some thoughts about my preferences for the three lines. Food - This is a very important item for me when choosing a cruise, since it can make or break one. Since the chef and staffs can change every cruise, my experience could be different than what others experience. My tastes will definitely be different than others, as would be expected, but below are my thoughts. Oceania has the best food in the MDR/buffet, as well as the specialty restaurants. Azamara has the next best food in the MDR/buffet, but the specialties weren't special. It seemed like the same food as the other restaurants. Viking Ocean was very disappointing for us. I had great expectations based on others reviews, but we weren't pleased with it. We do like the food on their river cruises though. Service on all three is very good, so I have no favorites. Itineraries on all three are enjoyable because they can include some ports the larger ships can't and/or don't go to. Itineraries are my driving force for booking a cruise. As far as excursions go, we normally try to book private tours when possible. Ship tours are normally on a big bus, so they are just not as enjoyable to us. Since they contract out all their tours, they all probably use the same companies in particular ports. Oceania's and Vikings are much more expensive than Azamara's. I will also say that we loved the Viking ship layout and cabins better than Oceania. V has many more windows and is open to the outside than the O ships, With Azamara only having the old R class ships, they aren't in the same league as V or the O class ships. They are still nice ships, but my least favorite. My favorite line is Oceania. I have following cruises booked: Oceania - 2; Azamara - 1; Viking River - 3. So, you can see I do like Oceania and Azamara but no Viking Ocean for me at this point. I will say that if they have an itinerary I can't live without, I will try them again. Having been on 61 cruises, it is harder to find an ocean cruise that I desire. The river cruises and land tours are much more appealing these days and I am sticking with the lines I have been happy with.
  20. Thanks for that info. I knew there was a sign up, but didn't know about the open house. By any chance, do you know the cost of the classes? If you do, I will add it the review.
  21. Thank you so much for your lovely comments. They are appreciated.
