  1. Locks are certainly most impressive. I saw several on this cruise and many others on different cruises, so I don’t need to watch them all anymore. I only take photos where allowed.
  2. Thank you for your response. We had pretty much the same 8-10 people at our table each night. They knew we were all there. it was the Soviet monument. They were freed from Russia in 1989. I did mean that watching licks fill up does get old. Maybe I have seen too many of them over the years.
  3. I have just posted a review to my website with lots of photos of a recently completed Christmas markets Danube River cruise on the Viking Egil from Budapest to Regensburg. We had a great time on an awesome ship. This was my first time on Viking, and I couldn’t have been more impressed with the ship, crew, food and great service throughout. It was my second Danube River cruise. My first one was in 2009 during much warmer weather. This one was quite different. Below are a few photos from the cruise. The review is located on my website, which is linked to in my signature. You can also just Google “Mike and Carol’s Cruise Reviews” to find a link to it. I hope it is helpful for those of you that are planning to do a Danube River cruise; or that it brings back some fond memories to those of you who have already done one. 4. Howdy neighbor! I used to live in Boynton Beach, hence my CC name. I sold my house in April and moved in with my girlfriend in Wellington. I love this part of PB County.
  5. Since we don't smoke anymore, I didn't pay attention to it; but I am glad that you did get an answer.
  6. We leave on Wednesday and will return on the 17th. That review won’t be done till probably after New Years. But hopefully sooner.
  7. I’m fine with filling my bottle with the delicious tap water.
  8. We were in a Neptune Suite and they gave us one large bottle. We had to pay if we wanted more.
  9. Thanks for that info. I usually charge everything, but am glad Euros are oK. Will definitely get some bathroom change.
  10. Since we are discussing cash and credit cards, will vendors in Budapest accept Euros? I would think they would, but want to see if I will need to get any Florints. I wouldn’t expect US dollars to be easily accepted, but would for Euros.
  11. I’m glad the review was helpful. I am hopeful that the slimmer menus were for lower capacity sailings, but there is no way to know.
  12. There were more suits and sports coats than I expected, but most were just like every other night. I’m didn’t wear a tie but didn’t pay attention to others.
  13. I had no idea. Thanks so much for that info. Looking forward to our Christmas markets cruise in 2.5 weeks.
  14. That is the same sheet I have. Since the Lido ones weren’t listed as NS, I assumed they didn’t have them. I can easily correct. Thanks so much.
  15. Thank you for pointing that out. The only pricing they gave me was what was included. The less expensive Lido cabanas were only on the NA and Eurodam. I am glad to know that there are more reasonable options on the NS. I wish they had given me the price list.
  16. I’m so glad you enjoyed the review. The ship is great. I hope my other reviews help in your future cruise planning. I prefer doing reviews with more exciting ports I haven’t been to, but this cruise was for the ship.
  17. I wasn’t in Billboard a lot, but never saw snacks. Definitely no sailaway snacks.
  18. I have just posted a review to my website with lots of photos of a recently completed western Caribbean cruise on the Nieuw Statendam that visited Half Moon Cay, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and Bimini. I also have the menus from the restaurants, spa and lounges. We had a great time on an awesome ship. Below are a couple photos of the Dolphin House Museum in Bimini. It was built by one man who began construction in 1993 using only recycled, salvaged or donated materials. It is quite an amazing place inside and out. The review is located on my website, which is linked to in my signature. You can also just Google “Mike and Carol’s Cruise Reviews” to find a link to it. I hope it is helpful for those of you that are planning to cruise on the Nieuw Statendam; or that it brings back some fond memories to those of you who have already cruised on her.
  19. The info sent to me for our cruise starting on Saturday said that there is a VeriFLY lane that makes boarding faster. It does seem silly, since no Covid vaccination info is required to be put in, plus we have to bring the cards anyway.
  20. I didn't notice that I had an obstruction of the R Class ship names, so here it is again.
  21. We have friends are cruising with you, s I will be following your adventures. Better to have Covid while crossing the Atlantic, then missing ports in Africa. We were n Africa last month on a land tour and loved it. Get negative quick and enjoy the rest of the cruise.
  22. I updated this list five year's ago before my last HAL cruise. Since I am going on the Nieuw Statendam next month, I thought that it was time to update it again. Lots of changes. It has been way too long since my last HAL cruise. So glad to finally be able to enjoy a Pinnacle Class one.
