  1. We were on the Apex transatlantic in the spring and heard banging in the wall behind our bed four nights when the weather picked up a bit. We were in an IV on the 8th floor midship. My DH slept through it, but I thought that construction could have been going on! lol
  2. I tutor someone in need of English as a second language in Eastern Europe. I will possibly, have one session to go. I didn’t know this when I started. If I am docked in Columbia for two days, do you think the internet would be better? Thank you all for your responses! 😊
  3. I’ll be on the Constellation 11/28/23 from Tampa to the Panama Canal and may have to attend a meeting via zoom. Is premium WiFi fast enough for it to work? I figure probably not, but I was hoping. Thanks for your response.
  4. I have cruise only fare. I need to purchase internet and only have the option of premium. I am Elite and therefore, have a 30% discount. I can’t seem to figure out where in the purchase that discount comes off. The 15% for buying it before the cruise is there, but there is no place for the 30%. Thank you for your help.
  5. I didn’t get the all inclusive fare and would like to have internet, just not premium. Does anyone know the cost? I’ll be on the Constellation for 12 nights Western Caribbean. Also, I’m Elite, so how does that fit in. Thank you!
  6. I was happy with my IV on Apex for my Northern Transatlantic because the weather most of the time was too cold to sit on a balcony. It was nice to see the water through a floor to ceiling glass window, especially from the bed. I also could leave the window open a bit at night to hear the ocean. The window was open as much as I wanted it to be at sea and in ports, so with the cool weather it was a good choice. I would also choose an Edge class for a Norway trip. As far as warmer weather I would never pick an Edge class ship with an IV cabin. And I don’t want an SV. I want a real balcony on one of the other classes of ships. That’s why I take a cruise.
  7. My husband called Apple and they told him to bring it to Best Buy. They looked at it and had it working in a few minutes. They said it was a common problem. He’s so happy, as am I. I get to have my iPad all to myself.

  10. My husband and I are leaving on a transatlantic on 4/22 and his new iPad just died. This is big deal. There is nothing he can do at this point, but have him use mine, use his phone or bring his MacBook Pro on board. The best idea for the both of us is to bring his laptop, but I am concerned that it doesn’t fit in the safe. Do I remember that right? And if not does anyone bring their laptop anyway? Thanks, Sarah
  11. I agree! The first cruise I was on was the Summit. I was invited to the captain’s table and my husband and I had a great time. We always look forward to dressing up the two nights on the cruise, even if it’s just for us.
  12. Thank you very much! This makes me feel a lot better.
  13. I am leaving on 4/22/23 for a transatlantic cruise and have booked my specialty dining but not the nights for the main dining room. I thought it would be like select dining on other cruises where I would book once onboard or go the night I have dinner. Tonight I thought I would check the site and the restaurants all have 9-9:30 only open! Is that the way select dining works now?
  14. I know this has been addressed before, but I am still not clear. If I have all inclusive, will I still have to pay gratuities on drinks or does it come out of the gratuities that are included in my package? And an additional question, not related, at a speciality restaurant, is the gratuity included or do I have to add that. Thanks very much!
  15. Her name is Akeem. I thought she was a male when I got her in 1987, but I found out ten years ago he was a she..I named her after Eddie Murphy’s character in Coming to America.
  16. Your Blue and Gold is beautiful! They’re wonderful pets!❤️
  17. I know that there is now a charge for room service, but I think I also read that there is no charge for continental breakfast in the morning. Is that true? I will have a veranda cabin.
  18. My husband and I are sailing on a transatlantic and have the classic drinks, gratuity and WI-FI included. On my reservation it only mentions the use of one device for my reservation, but their are two of us. If only one device is covered, I thought I would use the time I used to get through my Captains Club Elite status, but I see that’s changed. It looks like you have to buy it for the whole cruise and get a discount and not a. block of time like they did in the past. Am I understanding this correctly? Also, as a Captain’s Club Elite benefit, do I get one bag of laundry per room or one per person done for no charge. Thanks for your help!
  19. Thank you very much! This is exactly what I needed!! 😊
  20. I want to visit the Isle of Wight when the Celebrity Apex is docked in Southampton for 12 hours. Has anyone had experience with such a trip on your own?
  21. With fixed dining and even select I have always been able to add additional gratuities to my servers at the end of the cruise. This doesn’t seem at all possible now. Do some people still do it?
  22. If I stay outside on the infinite veranda and close the doors to separate the main cabin, will the air conditioning kick in? I know that once you open the window the AC goes off for the cabin, but I had hoped that if the folding doors were closed right away, the AC would remain on. Also, if the AC doesn’t come on and the veranda is closed off, does the cabin get hot quickly. I am sailing transatlantic, not in the Caribbean. Thanks!
  23. I am booking a transatlantic next April on the Apex and have questions about my cabin choice. I read that the captain locks the window in the staterooms when he decides it’s best. Mmmm…. Is best just because it’s getting dark or it’s 9 pm or the ship is at sea? I love the sea breeze and hearing the ocean and reading outside. I keep thinking that my room is going to turn into a ocean view room when at sea. I realize that in the middle of the Atlantic it could be rough and that would be a good reason. Thanks for your help!
