  1. The coupon books are given by Travel Agents (Even Big Box) when you book during the "Coupon Book Promotion Period".  We have one showing on the agency booking for our next cruise this summer.  I have had them before and generally don't use much in them although we are planning to use the 2 for 1 specialty dining on this cruise.

  2. We just returned from the Regal 11 day cruise. We are Elite and used the laundry service for some items and did a couple of small loads in the laundermat. (whites and items that I wanted control over how they were washed & dried) No issues with the service and turn around time was next day for everything. Sent most of my Husbands shirts out for pressing the first day and they were perfect when returned.

  3. So, just to be sure, if we are booked in a Club Class Mini Suite and in our Personalizer it says Traditional Dining ( which has always been our norm) we should select Club Class Dining option to take advantage of this?

You need to select anytime dining for Club Class. We just got off of the Regal Princess and had Club Class. It was fabulous! Our waitstaff was the best and Gabriel the Head Waiter was awesome! (He made the best shrimp and prawn dishes for us!) By the time we sailed our Club Class mini suite was selling for $300 more than regular balcony so we think it was a good value for us and we enjoyed every minute. Breakfast and lunch in the CC was so peaceful and easy compared to the buffet. Had we has a suite we would have done the Sabatini's Breakfast. That was our favorite perk when we have had suites.

  4. Here is what it says for the Princess Insurance for evacuation:

  5. There are very few activities that are stopped by rain in Alaska. One of our most memorable trips included a float plane trip to Katmai, 40 degree weather and light rain in a meadow for 3 hours.....with 3 bears. It was incredible! Embrace the weather and bring the appropriate gear. You will be glad you did.

  6. Paying up front has not been a concern for us since we have to pay for it at sometime anyway. You can always change your mind and the refund is nearly instantly. We book the best tour for us, which in many cases is a combination of private and ships tours. On our upcoming Baltic cruise we have two Princess tours and the rest are Private. The two Princess were unique and not available from anyone else. It also depends on the port. We are going to Greenland next year and there are not many private offerings (few ships go there) so we will probably go with Princess unless I can find a reliable private company. I am reading that these small towns are overwhelmed with ships come in, which I will take into consideration.

  7. You get any pics that you want, with a couple of exceptions, but all port pics, embarkation , deck pics and from all of the photo stations set up on the ship. You get the hard copy and digital. Just has to be at least 1 person from your cabin in each picture. We came back with over 100 pictures with 6 of us traveling. Did lots of group pics in all combinations. Photos are my souveniers and I make huge albums online, so I love them. Have a great cruise!

  8. The company that manages the SPB Port is "affiliated" with 5 of the local companies---all of the ones that the Cruiselines use. I think I read that there are around 120 local companies that are approved to pick up passengers in the terminal. I read that there was gridlock getting buses and vans in for everyone so only the "5" companies are allowed in to pick up first then they let in the rest, based on the rules that the Port Authority has implemented. If I can find the article again I will link it. We are going with TJ in August and from what I can see they have adjusted the schedule to do half of the city tour the first day and the other half be starting a half hour earlier the second. I don't think we will miss a thing.

  9. We are booked on the Baltic cruise in August. I have 2 CC without transaction fees that we will be taking. Our private tour vendor is TJ and we will pay by credit card at the current rate in Russia for our tours. We have been given guidelines for tips in Euros, which we will pick up and i will have in envelopes ready to hand out to our guides and drivers. We will probably pick up some DKK as we will be in Copenhagen for 5 days prior to our cruise. I have a separate ATM account with no fees for the first 6 foreign transactions per month. There will only be enough money in that account for our cash needs, with the ability to transfer in more via my cell, if needed. From my research, I believe our cash needs will be minimal and plan to give any loose change to our cabin steward at the end of the cruise.
