We enjoy eating when we want without being tied to a schedule, having to get dressed up evening after a busy day, or spending hours at a meal. Dinner isn't that important to us. We might do a specialty restaurant once during a cruise if we have OBC to spend.

Thank you for this wonderful review -- this itinerary is a dream of mine. Seeing the bright sunshine and blue seas are quite a contrast with this morning's grey skies and freezing temps at home. Best wishes for continuing enjoyment of your cruise!

I’ve always found it interesting that Celebrity has “evening chic” night because the modern trend (allegedly) is that cruisers aren’t as interested in true formal nights. If you’ve followed my previous reviews, you know my preference is actually to go more formal.
On Edge last night, it was fun to see so many of my fellow age group cruisers being the ones who really dressed for the occasion. There were some amazing ball gowns and tuxes on the 30 somethings!
Sharing some post-dinner Eden pics with one of my favorite new Retreat couple friends who I was excited to learn will be with me on Millennium in March! BTW, Tommy Proulx does a wonderful sax set and the Eden bartenders make a glorious champagne mojito!
I’ve had so much fun this week…It’s all so close to coming to an end…I’m not crying, you are.
Great dress -- you are rocking it!

Just got back to my room after swimming and getting some sun on the Retreat sundeck to start my regular afternoon ritual of wine and reading on my veranda. Anastasiia thought that given the lack of Luminae lunch today and that I planned to stay onboard all day, I might need a good afternoon snack (and be extra thirsty) so she left me a little treat after arranging for my mattress softener!
I’m lovin life right now.
So…who’s up for this review turning into a live back to back? I could even be a good wife and fly my husband down for the second leg for an early Valentine’s Day gift. lol
Great book for your cruise! And loving your reviews. Gah how I miss being aboard!

Thank you @Parkerson, @Mojo65 and @dollyd and others for this very helpful information. I must say it's disappointing how Celebrity is handling these issues -- even if they are overwhelmed onboard, Corporate should be doing so much more.
I found the last letter extremely unhelpful -- what happened to the Cruise with Confidence assistance? Make your own hotel arrangements, drive yourself home, etc. and apply for reimbursement doesn't match up with their promises.
Wish you all safe travels and quick recoveries.

Thank you everyone for your tips and perspectives -- valuable information which I really appreciate. Just to confuse things, we have been thinking maybe we should focus on Norway more, since that's one place we really want to experience.
So what are your opinions on the Shores & Fjords 8-day cruise (same as before), and adding on the 4-day extension of Best of Norway & Scenic train? Worth it or better to stay with the ocean and river combination?
Thanks again!

I'm considering the 15-day Rhine and Viking Shores & Fjords combination river/ocean cruise for 2023. Looks like a new offering starting in 2022? The idea of experiencing both types of cruises and seeing both Scandinavia and parts of Europe is appealing as this would be a "once-in-a-lifetime" trip due to budget limitations and increasing difficulty in handling overseas flights.
We've never done a river cruise but have sailed 7 ocean cruises (with Alaska and Hawaii being our favorites) with Celebrity and Princess. Everything we have read and heard about Viking is very enticing, particularly the smaller size. We would likely be in the lowest stateroom category on both ocean and river ships which means being last on the list to make reservations for shore excursions and dining reservations. Would the included excursions still be available?
Thanks for any advice and tips you can provide!

We received an upsell offer for Grand Princess 15-day cruise to Hawaii from balcony to mini suite for $399 per person. I'd like the extra space but not for an additional $800!

Thank you for this wonderful review. Like several other readers, I had never considered this itinerary but you have converted me!

Jeannie, so sorry to read about your setback and missing Tahiti, but I know you will recover quickly and make the most of your time. Take care.

Seems to be in use now headed to Hawaii according to Pescado Amarillo's current blog.

We have a balcony cabin on Grand Princess and are considering renting a recliner. Does it fit through the door of a non- HC accessible cabin? Thank you for any insights.

I understand that if you aren't quick enough to get the free tickets 60 days in advance, there's a chance to walk up on the day of your visit and get tickets to the Arizona memorial. If those run out, can you still visit the Missouri, Bowfin, and other sights at Pearl Harbor?

I am trying to get a travel insurance policy transfer from a cruise we cancelled to a new cruise we booked on a different line. My deadline to purchase a new policy to get pre-existing conditions covered is June 3, and now I'm getting concerned that we won't get a decision about transferring the existing policy in time. Assuming I don't hear anything, should I buy a new policy on June 3 and use the 10-day review time as a buffer to buy a little more time? Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like the soda package won't be helpful, as canned drinks are not included and Sprite Zero is not offered as a fountain drink? But I can pre-order sixpacks so that is a positive.

I have searched but didn't find an answer regarding availability of Sprite Zero onboard. I appreciate any responses. Thanks!

Just read this thread and astonished at the total fail of Princess. Not even an apology offered!

After 2 wonderful Reflection cruises, we looked forward to our Silhouette experience in January. It was significantly worse in dining--both the food and organization. Other than our excellent cabin steward, the staff was distant and gave the appearance of being untrained (particularly Guest Relations). We have heard that top staff was transferred to other ships which may be true for Reflection as well. I guess the inconsistency will continue. We are going back to Reflection next January so who knows?
