So glad you arrived after all this! Rest and enjoy your cruise.Greetings from Fort Lauderdale, Florida....1am US time, 5 am UK time....In all fairness AA and BA juggled us through via LHR, Dallas and on to MIA. The fact at the moment 2 out of 3 of our suitcases are missing still cannot take the smile off our faces that we are here!
Too tired to post more...
Sincere gratetude for all the great advice and wonderfully supportive messages....they really have supported us through a difficult day!
Couldn’t update sooner we have been running (literally) through terminals...

I purchased the premium non-alcoholic package in 2016 on a cruise on Reflection. It included sodas (cans and fountain), bottled water, and specialty coffees at Cafe al Bacio.Has anyone ever purchased this package? What does it include? What did you pay for it? The cruise line called today to offer buy one get one half price for April cruise . Buy one get one half off?Sent from my QTAQZ3 using Forums mobile app

You have received sound advice. Wear your "best" jewelry on board ship, and keep it locked on the safe when on shore. Also, be sure to actually lock the safe--several times we've left our cabin with it closed but unlocked due to forgetfulness! No problems however.

The management changes Orator mentioned, in particular in the F&B area, shed lot of light on the issues many of us experienced on the Jan 26 Silhouette cruise. We felt the crew didn't communicate well with guests or each other. Hopefully this will improve.

We were on Silhouette last month in a regular veranda, and ordered breakfast several mornings from the door hanger. Scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, bagels, orange juice, bananas, etc. No charge. I did see omlettes, etc on the "pay" side. Perhaps you did have the incorrect menu for Concierge cabins?

Disembarkation on Feb. 4 Celebrity Silhouette was a bit slow, with long lines. However, there were plenty of porters available. I thought the port staff was very helpful as well.

While I have mentioned many issue with our Jan 26 Silhouette cruise, I must compliment our outstanding steward, Juneel. She was by far the best we've had on Celebrity --friendly, quick, and anticipating any needs. Quite a treasure!

We also were on the Jan 26 cruise and were not impressed with the lack of organization and communication, particularly regarding the Select Dining fiasco. We put a refundable deposit on a 2019 cruise but are seriously considering cancelling it due to high prices and declining value.

We got off Silhouette Feb 4 and received the email survey a day later.

Haven't needed a sweater on Reflection or Silhouette in the Caribbean. Very comfortable throughout on my experience and I'm cold natured.

That's the real question remaining unanswered. Our Select Dining experience on Reflection has been very enjoyable. On Silhouette it was awful for us and many others. I'm considering switching to fixed for next year if it's still available.Obviously Celebrity is aware that this is a problem on this particular ship. Why don’t they step in and fix it.Sent from my iPad using Forums

OP here after several days without internet access. We spoke with a dining manager during the cruise, who confirmed there were issue with Select Dining on this particular cruise. Apparently nearly 2500 passengers wanted to dine early (around 6 pm) and the dining room can hold only 1500. They began opening early, starting at 5:15 by cruise end. It was definitely an older demographic. We ended up in the buffet to avoid the whole mess. For those who recommended fixed dining, you may not be aware that it was booked up a full year in advance and late fixed or select we're the only options.

Yes, on this cruise the majority are early dining in select dining and fixed. There have been several other service issues that have surprised us. And we are easygoing people!Sorry to hear about your problems with Select Dining. On our Silhouette cruise 14.-26. January our experience was just the opposite: After embarkation we made a phone reservation for a table of two, but were flexible about the time. We agreed for 08.30 for the first night. After dinner we talked in a nice way to our hostess Paola and she was able to offer us a standing reservation for 07.30 (same table if possible). Only on two evenings we had a 7 minutes wait and enjoyed the Select Dining!I see two problems with Select Dining: More and more guests prefer it and the space is now to small. While we saw every night empty tables in Traditional (Lower floor), our deck 4 dining area was always full. Celebrity cannot switch Select to the downstairs MDR because on deck 3 is only one entrance. Second problem is when a lot of guests arrive at 05.30 they fill up and occupy the room for the next one hour and a half. The same problem comes up when a lot of guests arrive at 08.00 after the early show.
I know we very very lucky to have a great hostess - on port-side!

Currently on Silhouette's 9-day cruise where we have had a third sea day after missing Antigua due to weather delays. According to the Captain, we encountered consistent 40+ knot winds and 17ft seas from Friday night to yesterday. Lots of rocking and rolling! Today is sunny and low 80s in Barbados.

No shrimp cocktail in the buffet so I feel shortchanged when dining there. I just can't get understand why Silhouette is so messed up and Reflection can handle it so seamlessly.I booked 3 weeks prior to sailing and the fixed seating times were not available.Sent from my XT1254 using Forums mobile app

And the hostess does not take reservations for the next night. You have to call the next day only to be told nothing is available. Fortunately the rest of the cruise is better. Thanks for the responses. We tried to switch to first seating fixed and were told it wasn't possible. There really seems to be a management issue on Silhouette.Sent from my XT1254 using Forums mobile app

Thanks for the responses. We tried to switch to first seating fixed and were told it wasn't possible. There really seems to be a management issue on Silhouette. We were on Silhouette Jan 14-26 and experienced the same mess with select dining. We waited the first night for 90 minutes! And the hostess was snippy when I checked after an hour to make sure we had not missed the pager going off. After that experience, we were advised to make a reservation for the next night as we entered the dining room each evening. That seemed to work, although we were having to line up before 5:30pm and the lines on both sides were long. Once the doors opened at 5:30 the lines did move quickly. When we booked, early dining was not available, and we don't eat late. But 5:30 is not our preferred time. Previous cruises we have been able to show up around 6 - 6:30 and get a table. I did make a comment on my post-cruise survey.Sent from my XT1254 using Forums mobile app

After 2 good experiences on Reflection with any time dining, this cruise is totally different and not good. Our first night we already changed our time to 5:45 and the line to get in with reservations wrapped past the Martini Bar. You can't reserve a time for the next evening after dinner; instead you must have called the previous day. Nothing available before 8:30 pm. Today, we called at 9:15 am to try for 6 pm tomorrow and we're told just to show up. When we said that wasn't working well, the host said that's how they were doing things. So far we've had 2 meals in the the dinner room and 2 in the buffet. No discounts on specialty dining either. Not impressed. We will be discussing with the appropriate managers.

Thanks for this! Very helpful for our upcoming cruise. Thanks to you fabulous CruiseCritics, I found copies of all 14 of the MDR's current menus, and figured out which seven normally appear on a 7-night cruise. However, we're on a 9-nighter in January, so I was hoping to find out if anyone knows which two of the remaining seven might appear on our sailing! We'll be doing most of our dining in specialty restaurants, but we have a couple of nights where we might hit the MDR and are just hoping to make an informed choice on which menu looks the best. Thanks in advance!Sent from my QTAQZ3 using Forums mobile app

Disappointed to read your LCG experience. Last year on Reflection we has a delicious meal with exceptional filets. I was looking forward to another meal but now not sure.

Restaurant "deals" while onboard

No deals except for the first night on Silhouette in January, and that was 30% only for Murano if I recall correctly. We passed.
