I paid for RT airport transfers in Ft. Lauderdale for our upcoming 7/20/2015 cruise. Tonight, I tried to purchase FTTF online. The site blocked me...said I had a conflict. So, I called Carnival. I was told that I cannot purchase FTTF since we are getting airport transfers. Why? I fail to understand.
The primary reason we wanted FTTF is because I cannot stand still in a line for more than 10 minutes or so. The rep told me that I can request wheelchair assistance at the terminal. I feel bad requesting a wheelchair because someone else may need it worse than myself.
Why can't I just purchase the FTTF? What a disappointment!
Nov of 2014 on the liberty I was able to use. FTTF and the airport transfer

Thank you.... I just checked the luggage tags and they say priority ; and on the documents I do see platinum .... Woooo hooo.
-
1. Just booked today and on day 2 I will have 75 sea days, and on day 8 (last day) hubby will reach his 75th day.... Will be given our platinum cards upon embarkation?
2. Do we get priority embarkation?
3. Will we get a carnival gift?
4. What will it be?
Or do we have to wait until the next cruise
-
We always take the carnival bus.... we also do luggage express so we are able to go directly to security, with our preprinted boarding passes..... Love not messing with our luggage until we get home.

Does that $20 include the checked bag fees or is $20 pp plus the $25-$35 per bag to check?
$20 plus your baggage fees , they add them to your sign and sail card
I love this service and use it every chance I get

Can't leave home without coffee creamer.... Hubby always brings either single serve liquid French vanilla, or now the little bottle of concentrated creamer

I have used them twice at Orlando; once you get off the plane and go to baggage claim there is usually someone hanging around baggage claim to give you instructions.. They send you over to a counter and you pick up your transfer ticket. Then you wait til your color ticket is called. Last November we arrived at the airport at 930 and were hoping to get on the 1st bus to the port because we also purchased FTTF ; well they had already filled the 1st bus that left at 10.... We had to sit around til the next bus at 11, it's about a 45 minute ride to the port. Check in was very fast and we were in our cabin before noon.

What is the casino method? I will search for a thread on it - but I'm totally intrigued, if anyone has a quick explanation!
Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
If you have say... 50 dollars left on you gift card that you already applied to your S/S... Once in the casino you will add the $50 to your players bank... Spin a few times... Cash out and get your money from the casino cage.
Zero dollars left on your sign and sail

Can you apply the gift cards at the kiosks or do you have to go to Guest Services?
You can do either... Very easy.
I bought about 700 dollars worth and had them applied at GS, but was told that I could have done it myself at the kiosk.
I like having all things paid for prior to sailing.... So when I realized our local grocery store carried the gift cards, I would just pick one up everytime I went grocery shopping.
Usually our sign and sail isn't that high... But I knew we were going to the steakhouse, buying cigarettes (for hubby) and buying daughter a citizens watch for Christmas, plus drinks.... I came off the ship with about $15 on our S/S

Love it!
Caesar salad is fantastic......
Chicken parmigiana is a favorite of mine....
I don't remember dessert.... I guess i was to full for it to be eventful

I have been on a 11 cruises.....
We were offered upsells on our 1st from an oceanview to a premium balcony.. We accepted.
On my 5th, upgrade from inside to oceanview
8th--- upsell from 2 balconies to 1 grand suite.... Declined
11th--- upsell from balcony to grand suite... Also declined

Luggage express Is $20 PER person plus the price the airline baggage fees.. SO...
you need to figure out what combination works best for you
Ie: 2 persons do luggage express... $40 plus 1 person checking 1 bag(25)each and the other 2 bags (60) =$125. Or
3 person (60) plus 1 bag each(75) = $135
Remember with luggage express they also print out your boarding passes... So who ever doesn't use it needs to check in online and print out boarding passes and/ at the airport
And also when we have used luggage express, we had to wait in a lounge until luggage express was cleared by customs to leave the ship... The others will be able to walk off when the do self assist
Actually for the breeze the muster in the dining room... Check your name off a list and you wait til everyone that used luggage express was there and they escorted us to the front of the line off the ship and in customs
-
I loved the convenience checking in at the airport...you bypass the long lines at the port.... Once we passed the security line you are herded to a special check in where they exchange your airport express card for a boarding number... Very easy. So the only line I waited in was the 2-3 people in front of me at the airport

I set up my on board account with my credit card... Then went to guest services to have my gift cards applied, the applied cash thru the kiosk as needed. Credit card was on file if needed so I wouldn't get called down to apply more $

Loved the breeze, but sailing on her during springbreak.... Something I will never do again.
Lots of kids that were left unsupervised... Running the halls at 3 am
Had a hillbilly group of 8-10 using a beer bong in the pool and getting out of hand
A lot of undesirables on our last time, And it was apparent from muster drill on.
The year prior during the same time , same ship was totally different.

We always book the bus from carnival.... Just did it 2 weeks ago
$70 each round trip
-
I have read somewhere that I just need to go to GS to redeem..... Has anyone redeemed them at the kiosks? .... I have 5-6 and wondering on what would be easier

i am trying to figure out if i qualify for a price drop
i am on the liberty on 11/15 in an 8E
i checked out the fare viewer and the 8E's are not on the list, and i also did a mock booking, but all catagories above mine are sold out except for the suites
i am wanting to get the $50 OBC if possible
am i now out of luck on any price drops because my 8E is sold out?
-
I have done both on the breeze.... My vote is for southern..... But you can't go wrong with either one.
-
i have been on the breeze twice, and we are not foodies.. but we enjoyed the food. We have a daughter that has a nut allergy and she didnt starve. We have also done the italian resturant and enjoyed it. We eat in the MDR when the daughter sails with us. We dont want to take the chance on lido with her. We actually like CCL food over RCI

Sorry to say they do not have a cuciana del captiana, nor do they have a Red Frog Pub.
Thank you!
I am enjoying your review
-
I see on day 6 at the taste bar they have ... The cuciana del captiana.
Do they have that restaurant on the liberty?
They didn't the 1st time I was on it, but I know the liberty has had a few upgrades since then.
I have been to the Italian restaurant on the breeze.... And loved it!
Hoping its on the liberty
Thanks
Platinum question
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Hubby and I will be turning platinum on our next cruise in October... My question is....
If we board early do we get access to our room to drop off our carry ons? Or do we have to wait until they open the doors
