  1. It's a chocolate candy square.... It's waxy in my opinion.

I usually bring a box of Andes mints and switch them out for hubby

And whatever is left over...I will turn down our bed when we get home and leave him a mint... He gets a kick out of it

  2. We have used it on all but 2 of our cruises...... Love it!

But we had issues on the breeze the 2nd time.... I made several trips to GS to get it right.... I finally got the correct paperwork and tags... But was overcharged on the luggage fees... It took 2 calls to 800 number after returning to get it straightened out.

Going on the liberty in nov and plan on using it again

  3. We've done both. Prefer Lido for late night trips to the coffee and tea counter. Great to take back to our cabin, sit on the balcony, and listen to the waves before retiring. Of course the Panorama is only a short climb and is just as convenient. Noise is never a problem for us on either deck. I just like rooms above and below so that helps me decide which deck.

    Thanks!

  4. First time doing a Carnival Cruise. Are there formal nights? If so, can my husband wear a sports jacket and pants instead of a suit?

    Yes to the formal nights

Yes to the sports coat... But should also wear a tie.

Hubby states that he would feel under dressed in a sports coat and tie on formal night, but only because of what I am wearing( usually a black cocktail dress),he prefers a suit.

He wears khakis and a polo to MDR on casual night, and would not wear jeans/ t- shirts or shorts, but states that is because he wouldn't in comparable restaurants on land

  5. Feel free to share your own opinions on these topics. I recently went on my first Royal Caribbean cruise.

    Ships: Royal

Rooms: carnivals are larger in side, but I like the shower doors on royal

    MDR: Carnival

    Buffet: royal

    Specialty dining: Royal

    Pools: Royal

    Activities: Royal

    Service: Both have great service.

Nightlife: unable to rate... I am in bed early

Entertainment: Royal hands down, no comparison

    price: carnival

  6. Last yr we were on the breeze, mid ship, deck 7 or 8 right by the midship elevators, had 2 balcony rooms connected by an inside door, and we were able to the open balcony partician, but it did not open all the way, so you can go to the other balcony, not just 1 long balcony

  7. Deck 11 facing the big screen on the couches, because it's just 1 deck above lido, in the shade, just a few steps from smoking area ( hubby is the smoker); love to people watch and read ; but also in the mix of things being able to watch everything going on the lido deck below.

  8. Actually--the Past Guest Sale has both Guarantee and chose your own. The GTY option is still less expensive, at least for my cruise.

Was just told by carnival rep the the past guest sale going on for 2 days is for guarantee only....

I hear what your are saying.. Thinking, because I did a mock booking under this sale and picked the option to pick your own room... And it defaults to guarantee.... That is why I called to make sure there wasn't a glitch in the system.... So no price drop for me, unless I switch to a balcony guarantee .

  9. Go all the way back to the Aft end of the Lido deck, where the Adults only pool is. Go up the stairs on your left, by the soft serve ice cream machine. The Starboard side and rear of Deck 10 is the outdoor smoking area (along with Deck 3 Starboard). It's kind of windy, so it'll be easier to light a cigarette just prior to stepping out of the plexiglass enclosure at the top of the stairway.

    Thank you!
