We on on the Edge in March 2020 stopping in Tortola.  We are taking a 4 hour excursion to JVD and wondered about what we can do near the Pier with the rest of our time (sightseeing, shopping, etc)

Our cruise is next Saturday & we're doing the same excursion as you.  I'll post about what to do at the Tortola pier when we get back.  I'm not expecting much though.

Ok ladies.. how do you deal with the humidity in the caribbean?.. my hair goes complete frizz as soon as I walk outside.. always have to wear my hair up.. I use biosilk at home.. which works, but it can't handle the caribbean weather., and also if there are certain shampoo's / conditioners that are better for frizzy hair?

What I can finally swear by is Tweak'd by Nature Bye-Bye Frizz! Flexible Finishing. AKA Tamed.  (the creator is from Ojon). You can buy it on HSN or QVC.  I have tried every product imaginable for the past 20 yrs or more & right now this is the ONLY product that works for me.  We go to Florida every year & I wouldn't be without it.  Absolutely no frizz!  And my curly hair looks like a tent when it's frizzy but not with this product.  Good luck in your search!

What have you bid on Beachgoddess? We are the same and haven’t heard anything. we are happy with our current cabin but the move up prices were reasonable. I’m not hopeful though because when we called to enquire about paid upgrades we were told the cabins were sold out (we bid on an AQ).

I bid on family veranda & aqua class.  We already have a balcony booked but I just thought I'd place a bid to see if I'd get it.  Never cruised on Celebrity before, only Carnival & Royal Caribbean.

I was also chicken about the same thing before going but absolutely loved this excursion.

We took this excursion via Celebrity, in September. We had to board a catamaran from the Tortola dock. Then a small "barge" transported us from the catamaran to the shore directly. No waist deep water to jump into an no swimming to the shore. It was really very easy to do. We were at the very first beach. Good amount of palapas and shaded area, very nice bar, clean restrooms, showers, picnic lunch tables, lounge chairs in excellent condition. Lunch and 2 drinks were included. Lunch was the normal hamburgers and hot dogs. The water was crystal clear lovely. We walked along the beach to the Soggy Dollar. There were only 5 or so people there. The entire time that we were at White Bay, there were no other tours, local boats etc that came there that day, so it was not crowded at all. I only wish we had some more time on there. The excursion started at 7.30 and we had to leave the beach by 11.30. Every one was dragging their feet and nobody got on to the barge at 11.30 sharp.

Celebrity used some other tour operator, not the Rebel Yell, for this excursion.

Well that makes me feel a little bit better!  I booked this excursion for me & my husband cos it just sounds too beautiful & fun to miss.  I'm sure I'll be fine, but I'm usually nervous about ocean water over my head.  Thanks for your reply!  It was very helpful!

  5. We're interested in the Celebrity excursion Escape to Jost Van Dyke this November.  It states that people must be able to step off the tour boat into the water once we get there.  Does anyone know how deep the water is once you step off the tour boat?  I've done a little research & have seen anywhere from calf-length to 15 ft.  Would like to know how deep it really is before I book this excursion.  Celebrity does not name the tour boat if that matters.

    Thank you in advance!

  6. Staying before our cruise at Best Western on O'Donnel St.  Have never stayed there before so does anyone know if this is in a safe area?  I've read some reviews on this hotel, some say sketchy area, others say it's ok.  Leaving our car there for the week & just wondering if it'll be safe.

I've tried searching on here already but can't seem to find any info on this topic.

    Thanks in advance!

  7. I have searched on here but not having much luck.  I'm looking for  a park & cruise Baltimore hotel that doesn't charge an arm & a leg & is in a safe area for pre-cruise nite.  We've stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Linthicum Heights before, but for whatever reason they are sold out for June 8th already.  I know there are quite a few hotels that offer this, but I'm not sure of the area they're in.  And I don't wanna park in a public parking area as I see some hotels provide.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thank you in advance!

  8. Freeport is a waste.
I don't know why people say that. I was hesitant about going there after reading all of the negative comments about it. We absolutely loved it there! We just walked around the port area. Full of vendors & the locals that ran them were so friendly! There's different musicians playing, local drinks, lots of shops. It was just fun!

  9. We are Diamond on Carnival and have a bunch we have now done with Princess.

They typically have production shows or flyons at 8 and 10am so no idea why you think everyone is in bed at 8 pm.

Also they do have a couple of bands and DJ playing later on as well.

Will say the longer the cruise the older the crowd on both cruise lines

    You said 8 & 10AM. That's why everyone is in bed at 8PM. [emoji16]
