  1. Had a wonderful TA cruise on the Emerald Princess recently. On my review where they asked how Princess could improve the experience I expressed my wish that they could not allow grumpy people on board. It seems some people are never satisfied and they like to try to ruin other peoples fun vacation. Found the staff wonderful and welcoming, food was good (I didn't have to cook so found it wonderful). There were a couple of issues but certainly wouldn't let them ruin my day. Can't wait to go again.

    AMEN, GrammySpo

  2. We bought water in Ft Lauderdale. I actually did pack 2 in my checked suitcase last year. Lots of bubble wrap, then a towel around each and into a box with more bubble wrap, all packed between clothes. That weighed 8 lbs. HUGE risk of them breaking but I don't drink wine from the store, in fact rarely so I took a chance on bringing our homemade wine.

  3. We have cruised previously but have stayed with "dry" activities. Im wondering where you keep personal items (sea pass card, credit card, phone, etc) while swimming or snorkeling?

Phones stay locked in the safe OFF on vacation other than to let my folks know we arrived & boarded. Money and cruise card in hubby's inside zipper pocket of swim trunks, disposable waterproof camera

  4. Since this is your FIRST cruise, you might find it easier and way less stressful to book something you feel you would enjoy offed by the ship. :)

Agreed! First time can be confusing enough without worrying about outside vendors. This will be my 4th cruise but using an outside vendor for the first time. I'll admit, though they are highly recommended on CC & trip advisor, I'll still be a little nervous

  5. I am also sailing Nov 1 on the Star and I was thinking the exact same thing! I even used the term 'propulsion thingy'. :D

Now that's pretty funny! I have no idea about sailing and vessels, so only thing I could picture is no propulsion means can't move forward, so we be stuck in the middle of the ocean forever....OK, a bit extreme I know :p

Will you be at the meet and greet?

  6. It would appear that all repairs are completed, and ship is back to normal.

If the ship was unable to sail, they would either adjust the itinerary or cancel the cruise and offer compensation.

If the pod failed at sea, the only difference would be that the ship could not make full speed, so itinerary changes might be required.

As a note, this was not a failure of the propulsion or steering functions of the pod. It was leaking oil into the water, and under international water pollution regulations, this had to be addressed as quickly as possible. The pod could have been used in emergency conditions or to avoid storms. This problem in no way affected the safety or seaworthyness of the vessel.

Thank you so much for youir informati0on! As much as I joke I never want to come back from vacation, being lost at sea is NOT what I have in mind, LOL:D

  7. No offense to the CC staff or the posters here but CC isn't as big a deal as many would believe. Also, as far as DelRio and Sheehan go, most people on board probably not only don't know who they are but most likely don't care.

I'll admit it, I have no idea who they are! Do I need to know this?

  8. Casual Attire... I would think is also subjective?

What do you consider casual attire and what do most of you wear to dinner?

I'm happy about not having "formal" nights, but don't want to be too casual either. Casual to me would be jeans or capri's and a summer top/tank top or a sundress and flip flops. I consider dressed up to be slacks or sundresses with heels....

  9. Phentermine 30, 30 mg $59

Holy crap! I get forty five (45) 37.5mg Adipex here in Pennsylvania for under $30! (my insurance don't cover it) Of course I need a script from my doctor and it is regulated. I'll stick to getting that one here.

  10. What time does NCL allow you into your stateroom? I've been on 2 other cruise lines and one we had to carry our stuff around for awhile, on another we were able to go right in and put our stuff down as soon as we boarded!

Also, are we able to carry off our own luggage rather than put it outside our door the night before?
