I'm glad to read good things as we are taking the Mayan extreme November!
-
In port for a day in November. We are avid riders and are thinking about renting a bike and seeing Belize that way. Is this a good or bad idea. Is it safe to see the island on our own? I seem to recall reading somewhere (not here) about Belize being unsafe outside the normal port/excursions.
Thoughts, opinions, recommendations etc are welcomed and appreciated!

One dolphin per foot- the swim behind you and push the bottom of your feet and you raise your arms as they superman you out of the water.

I have a silly question... We booked the dolphin swim... What is a foot push???

There is one in Roatan, to the left by the exit to the taxis. Poker Chips are $4 each here.
Thanks
Is that to the left of the pier or??

We did the Altun Ha Mayan ruins tour
Any positive and/or negative comments? Would you recommend this tour?
-
why?
Side of the ship in hopes of seeing the land while you are in port is not important.
Capt will decide when he arrives how he will be docking-- pulling in or backing in. Depend onhow many ships are in port-- when you arrive and when you leave.
Belieze is a tendered port and the port is about 20=25 minute tender ride.
view will be water on both sides.
Alrighty then...

We have used Parking doctors. They were very helpful and both drop-off and pick-up were fast. Would use them again.
Do you recall the cost per day? Indoor or outdoor parking? How far from terminal?

We're going on Norwegian Dawn November 1, 2015
Any advice for state rooms? We're looking into balconies or unobstructed picture window view cabins. (Must be port side)
Thanks in advance!

Actually, taking a photo of your luggage is a great suggestion for anyone who checks their suitcases when they fly.

I'd never have thought of this! Great idea, I'm on it!

Pregnant guests who enter the 24th week of estimated fetal gestational
age before or at any time during the cruise will not be allowed to sail. Pregnant guest, who will not enter the
24th week of estimated fetal gestational age before or at any time during the cruise, must submit, prior to
departure, a letter from her attending physician certifying that her gestational status is in accordance with this
policy, and that the expecting mother is fit to sail.
Forgive my ignorance... WTH can't pregnant women cruise???

Both us and my parents collect Christmas ornaments too. No matter where we go or type of trip. I also try to find unique items only made by locals.

My girlfriend and I are definitely going to try Shampbooze in our checked bags. But i think we've found a genius way to get liquor aboard.
We're going to take a couple of empty wine bottles and fill them with liquor and recork them. They sell heat shrink foil for the tops of the bottles for super cheap. We're going to give it a shot.
Has anyone tried this?
My brother in law makes wine. He made us wine bottles of Captain, labels and the top was waxed shut. Worked just fine for us, it looked like some fancy expensive wine!
Our issue this year is putting it in our checked luggage and risking it getting broken. (We drove to FLL last year from Pittsburgh, flying this year)

We LOVED our cabin R512. It was perfect for us in just about every way! So much so, we booked the same cabin on Crown's sister ship Ruby, leaving in 48 days for the Eastern Carribean! :D
-
I found it! Thank you both

I seem to recall hearing of a site that will tell me what other ships will be in port the day you are. We'll be doing eastern Caribbean starting November 15 and I'd love to know what other ships will be in port with us.
Thanks!

I've been a WW since 2001. I lost over 100lbs in 2005! SLOW & STEADY! I kept it off until last year until I had injuries that kept me in a recliner on my butt for 9 months. I sat & I ate & could not work out & after all those years put on 30lbs. 3 weeks ago I decided, no more excuses, my strength is coming back & I'm working again at a very physical job. Out of the blue I logged back onto WW on my bday in the middle of the afternoon & decided I AM going to lose some of the 30 before our ship sails Nov 15th! I've lost 8lb in 3 weeks! If I lose 2 ea week before the cruise I'll be ecstatic! Good luck to all of you on your journey as we all know it's not an easy road! Enjoy your cruises!

That is awesome! I'm going to print that and take it with us and use it with the map HD provides as I'm sure if something needs updated, their map should show it? What a great time it should be!!! 49 days, the count down is on!

Renting a Harley? Good or bad idea?

Thank you for the reply crewsweeper. Sounds like you know Belize pretty well. From what I've been reading it doesn't seem like there's much to do or no real good beaches?? Of course I'm sure it depends on ones preferences. We love beaches and nice scenic rides, good food and drinks, but won't want to sit and party while driving. The monkey sanctuary sounds pretty cool, but again, want to ride.
