Pcardad, any additional reasons to add to melevin’s long list of Mariner’s assets?
She is such a fine ship! -
Kate, you indeed make good points but I’m thinking that a very few of us are losing our minds! 😩. I speak just for myself. I really am trying not to care about inappropriate comments from others, thinking they too are under great stress.
Happy 4th to all who observe it.

Mom C, sorry I missed the attempt at levity. It felt like yet another thing to feel bad about and I agree with you this is a distressing time in the U.S. I saw today that about only 17% of people are happy with this country’s situation which speaks to a very high level of unsettling feelings.
I apologize for my reaction.

MomC, why the lecture? Like anyone is trivializing the mess this world is in? Or that Regent cruisers don’t know how incredibly placed they are?
Wrong assumption.

All those details! Lovely to remember. A perfect ship, particularly if you go with the Penthouse cabins. Lots of very comfortable space

Not much difference then between the two itineraries. If you like new and shiny go with Splendor. I personally like the Mariner best but that’s probably a minority opinion.

I meant scenery, sorry. not itinerary. Alaska, Norway, etc.
-
If it’s the itinerary you’re after, the Mariner is the ship to be on.
if you want restaurants and a big spa Then perhaps the Splendor.
-
Oh, why not? People have nothing else to do.

I hope you get it all back soon!
susieQ , it’s been interesting watching your Crystal spreadsheet as well. I’m sorry you’re going through that. You’ve really helped a lot of people and I cannot imagine if we didn’t have the information laid out in such an easy to read manner. You have been a good steward.- 1

Such a relief! Thanks for reporting as I was worried about this.

Portolan, I second that! And it was a thrill to see your concert photos as we were there but have no pictorial trace. Thanks so much!

Mr Levin, you asked if I met Marco Polo in 1966. I guess you think that being 21 years of age at the time makes me an extremely ancient person. If you hang on TikTok, the age of 75 is quite old, but on this Regent site??

This sounds lovely as you are able to continue to live without a great number of changes. You made a great choice in retiring where you did!

The best memories of Venice seem to pre-date cruise ships. Venice was magical. We all were young and there were not so many people there at all. I think if you knew it then it is nearly unbearable to go now. I do not feel that strongly about any other place. At least that is true for me. Just a very personal feeling for me.

Speaking of Genting, is it not strange that certain very prolific poster on every subject has been radio silent.

The good old days of Venice were the days and nights of 1966, living in the in-laws hotel, getting to the fish market at 4:00 am to get the day’s catch, hanging with friends, drinking coffee and Sambuca, walking, walking, walking. Languid days. Yes, those are the only Venetian times I want to remember now.

The 2% cash back was good enough for me. I buy ( or would in the future) insurance through Steve at the insurance store.
Are there benefits or perks offered that are better than 2% cash back?

Just this morning the missing 5000 appeared on the AMEX card for our June 4th Mariner cruise to Alaska. It would have been such a lovely cruise, alas. So we are whole.
Thank you ever so much, SusieQ! You’re the best!

No SusieQ, that couldn’t be it. But I’ll call them tomorrow and see what they say. Hope it’s not some song and dance. Thanks for your interest, appreciate it.
-
We checked our AMEX card and a refund was posted but a LOT of money not refunded which is strange. We used one card, have no air, one cheap excursion, and deposit and full payment were made within about a one week time.
I’ll call Regent first tomorrow and hope it’s all straight forward.
thank you SusieQ. -
Perhaps credit limits

Ha ha Pappy! Family vacations are always the best. Except your story, Bellaggio , which shows your bravery was richly rewarding.
I can’t bring up just one memory. I was eagerly looking forward to our June 2020 cruise on the Mariner. Wine cruise to our oft visited Alaska with family. There are so so many memories.
I am interested in what others felt as very special.- 1

Dennis is one of the very best people on the Mariner in Compass Rose. We had three generations on an Alaskan cruise in 2019 and always went to CR because of Dennis. He was so much fun with our grandchildren!
I am grateful to see a picture of him as I hoped he’d be back.
