What do you think the mask policy will be the end of October on the Silvermoon.
We in the US are not required to wear them anywhere.
Thank you.

Where are Barbara Muckermann's answers?
I can't seem to find but a few.

Excellent. Maybe we could get together sometime before the cruise.
Right now I am trying to figure out why we aren't getting many replies from Barbara Muckermann today.

We are in Sun City.🌞

Will the no masks if your vaccinated in the United States announcement be carried over to Silversea Cruise ships?

I am wondering about all the cruises and how SS is going to handle ports that are "unfriendly" so to speak. Will we just skip them, change the itinerary or cancel?
We have done all we can so we can travel. We will NOT quarantine anywhere, that's for sure.

Thanks so much Stumblefoot, I had seen that one.
You are an encyclopedia of Silversea information.

Do you have actual photos or a video of the Connoisseur's Corner on the Silvermoon?

India part of our 48 day cruise starting October 23rd 2021, what if there are still Covid issues there?
-
Nov.17th Dubai to Mumbai is the second leg of a cruise we have booked.
John and I are also from Oro Valley.
Quite a coincidence huh?

How do you think SS will handle our Oct. 23rd Athens thru to Singapore cruise if India still has high covid numbers?

Thanks so much🙂
You go girl. We are booked on the Moon in October. We are chomping at the bit to cruise again. Loved the Muse so the Moon has got to be great.
We have gotten both our vaccine shots and have proof.

I too have been looking at this new cruise line. Very interested. So far their customer service has been very good as far as answering some questions I had.
We love small luxury ships.
Silversea has been our favorite. Our very first cruise was on the Silver Cloud 10 years ago. We were treated as if we were the most special people in the world.
We then booked the Scenic Eclipse, got cancelled as ship wasn't ready and the worst customer service ever. They pretty much ignored all the posts here on Cruise Critics.
We did eventually get our money back and they paid our TA her fee.
Luckily we went back to Silversea and did a fantastic NZ Australian Cruise on the Muse. As usual didn't disappoint. That was just before Royal Caribbean bought them out.
We have another SS Silver Muse booked for August 2021 and pray it won't be cancelled.
Atlas Ocean Voyages struck me as perfect, but we will wait for the ultimate authority to report their experiences. Our Cruise Critics.
We love small ships with cruises around 20 days duration.
First or Business included would be excellent. We are tall mid 70's seniors. Comfort is a priority.
I have no idea on pricing, but the fact that Atlas advertised private charters available really, really appealed to me.
My husband's priority is a dedicated lounge for fine spirits and cigars. (I am sure I just offended 90% of you but he deserves whatever pleasure he wants at thus time of life) Not easy to find on small ships these days. We have made some very long lasting and close friendships in the Connoisseurs Lounge on our cruises.
That's more than enough of a comment from me.

We are on the Whisper as World Cruisers. The Captain has been outstanding, always keeping the guests informed as soon as he is able. The crew from top to bottom are unfailingly cheerful, efficient and caring despite their uncertain future.
The only problems seem to have been caused by difficulties from the Miami office being closed over the weekend and the time difference.
Anybody who could possibly consider that they had had anything other than wonderful treatment in this appalling situation, is not sailing on the same ship as us.
I was talking about the Shadow not the Whisper. I love Silversea, just booked our third cruise so I am not against Silversea just seems this particular cruise could have been handled better. I am no there but do trust my friends judgment.

I believe Bobby's comments are probably factual and not related so much to the Silverseas handling of this matter since the signal event on board, but to the lead -up.
I too, and others I know, had the same dilemma- to come, or do our considerable financial outlay, not only cruise but airfares and incidental costs .
I do believe that they could have been more pro-active with their cruise management before the cruise and am sure they now regret this as it must be costing a squillion to maintain us and to arrange our repatriation.
I would however like to commend the company, the Captain and the crew for how they have managed the ship and its passengers to maintain our wellbeing and a very high standard of meals within our cabins since our confinement . I have never eaten so much lobster or drunk so much French champagne in my life . In fact I now crave a bit of bread and butter and an apple. We have an extensive menu, room service for snacks and cappuccinos and a same day laundry service.
They are doing everything possible to keep us comfortable. I believe that if people had tried to keep further apart on deck we might still be allowed out, but we did not [ 2 metres is the usual standard although we were told one]. I saw many closer than one metre.
The crew themselves are at considerable risk in doing this and have always been cheerful, courteous and attentive. The Captain et al are working to get us out of a difficult situation. They are all making the best of a bad situation and when we are home I hope we will remember the good parts of our trip .
Although disappointed we will have to make the most of our situation and be positive about an early return home.
Maybe some costs are re-imbursable and my Silverseas agent in Sydney has indicated that we may get some form of compensation.
We have very special friends aboard the Whisper. They are really great fun people from Manchester that we met on a previous Silversea Cruise. I am really worried about them starting to lose their sense of humor. Not like them at all.
Seems they are told one thing and then it changes. They didn't seem to think the Captain was involved enough in keeping the passengers posted and they don't get an answer on phone calls.
Is this what you have observed. Seems they need a really good PR person to fill the passengers in on keeping the passengers informed on a continual basis. I am sure that this is a logistics nightmare but keeping passengers informed can only help.🙄

My wife and I did the SS pre-cruise Denali trip in June followed by our sailing on the Shadow from Seward to Vancouver. For us, it was the trip of a lifetime.
The Denali trip was very well organized and executed. We had an exceptional tour director who took care of all the details and requests, however minor. On the two trips on the Alaska Railroad, our group had a private car, and the bus was very comfortable (which is a good thing, because you spend a LOT of time on the bus). Hotels were excellent - Grand Denali Lodge had an incredible hilltop location and great food and Alyeska Resort is the top resort in Alaska.
The day trip inside Denali was awesome (great weather helped). Saw grizzlies, caribou, moose and Dall sheep and the big mountain itself. Eight hours on another bus, but that's the only option. The stop at the Iditirod champion's home/kennels was tremendous fun. Overall a great experience and we are glad we didn't try to organize it ourselves.
Favorite port was Sitka - took a 5-hour whale/wildlife boat with only 5 passengers arranged directly with the captain (gallantadventures.com) and it was unforgettable! Saw a bear on shore, countless eagles, seals and sea lions, sea otters and many whales. One was so close to the boat he sprayed my wife. Also incredible scenery.
In Skagway, we passed on the town and the train ride and booked a tour to Haines, which is an authentic Alaskan town with more great scenery and no crowds. Ketchikan was extremely touristy and disappointing except for our incredible floatplane trip to Misty Fjords. Juneau was our only real rainy day the entire trip, but we enjoyed our hiking and glacier visit. Unibok, I highly recommend taking the tram to Mount Roberts and hiking from there. You can go as high up into the alpine environment as you like.
Hope you enjoy Alaska as much as we did!

We were LUCKY to have our April 9th 23 day cruise cancelled. We did get all our money back, every cent. Scenic even paid our TA her commission. It was incredibly stressful that whole year wondering what the hell was going to happen. Many plans where really screwed up.
We had to wait for them to cancel before we went to plan B which I had researched just in case.
Turned out we had a magnificent cruise to NZ, southern and western Australia ( home of Scenic) and Bali on the Silversea, Silver Muse. SILVERSEA NEVER DISAPPOINTS. You can call them and actually talk to helpful knowledgable people.
There are a lot of these "boutique " small ships being built. Competition is a wonderful thing. 🤑

So to some food pics. The first night we ate outside on the Pool deck. They have Hot Rocks dining. Not everyone reads the info you are given and 2 tables near us demanded their food be plated. They had to wait a while. So I had the selection-veal scallopine, salmon cake and skewers beef, pork and a prawn.Mrsdrron had the prawns.
..
Mrsdrron had a baked potato and I tempura mushrooms which were nice.We like our protein this way.
Desserts-
..
The red glow is because they had turned the overhead heaters on.
Breakfast we have in the restaurant or our suite but basically the same.A plate of fruit followed by eggs. This day eggs Benedict...
Oh my goodness, seeing the eggs Benedict reminds me one of my favorite things. Waking up in the morning on the Cloud and being served eggs Benedict done absolutely perfect. I could never figure out how they managed to do that. If not EB we would order Bagels and Lox. Such a treat every morning. I sure hope they still serve nice bold coffee. I have been making Italian roast coffee ever since.
Your food photos are really helpful in deciding on what to eat. 7 days until we board in Auckland.

Dr. Ron, I see you are going on the Eclipse in September, we had it booked for April 5, 2019 and got cancelled. Thank God plan B is the Silver Muse Feb. 17th Auckland to Bali.
If you would be so kind to let me know when you get aboard whether the 110V are 2 or 3 prong outlets. I would assume 3 but have learned to " Assume Nothing".
We have only been on the Cloud so this will be a big ship for us also.

Hi Boccenana, are you staying on board Muse when you arrrive at Bali? We join the cruise there to Singapore. There is a meet and mingle already set up for this section of the cruise if you wish to join us. Enjoy your trip from Auckland.
Sorry to say we get off in Bali. We will try and leave the ship in ship shape shape for you.

We feel your pain. We were scheduled for a 23 day Mediterranean cruise with the new Scenic Eclipse on April 5, 2019. The whole year the shipyard had issues. Thankfully I had this 10 day Auckland to Bali Feb. 17, 2019 cruise lined up as plan B. Just the other day they cancelled all cruises until April 15th and God know what happens after that.
We loved our Silversea Cloud cruise about 8 years ago. I know they really treated us well back then. I hope it's the same level of treatment now.
They gave us all kinds of goodies, luggage tags, a beautiful leather case for all you tickets etc. Sure hope they do the same thing now.
Testing required prior to boarding
