  1. No, that is not the reason they don't allow visitors to rent cars. Of course I just wasted a response since you'll never come back to see you've been corrected.

I have never been to Bermuda...So why don't they allow rental cars if it isn't for the great potential for accidents because of over crowded narrow highways?

I googled it and that's what I got....

  2. It was not guarantee. I carefully booked a stateroom while on board that I would quite enjoy. I research location carefully and choose my room. Unfortunately, the room they gave me was for 3 pax. So, they switched me to another balcony (at the back of the ship). I was unsatisfied, but I took it because at that time there was only 1 balcony left (the inventory for this cruise is constantly changing). When another cabin in the same category came up I asked to move and was initially told no. I called the next day and a new cabin (a better cabin) had become available and they let me have that one as a "goodwill gesture".

Hi Lovelylady226, Could you just give the cabin#'s you switched in each phase and that might help with following what happened.

It does sound like they did do a "special move" for you which is nice to know happens once in awhile.

  3. I have, several times in my cruising career, switched rooms within the same category. It has never been a problem before (though notably I haven't had to do it in a few years). This time, I was told that even though I was switching within the same category I could not do it without paying the new fare. Why? If it is the same room category on the same deck what difference does it make?

This would in no way, benefit RCCL in anyway, by not allowing cabin switches within the exact same category. Does not make sense. Will only tick the customer off.

Nothing to do with revenue as they have the traded in cabin to sell at a higher price.

As suggested, call C&A or your TA

  4. Ok, there is a brand new topic never done before, as far as I'm aware :)

My wife and I decided we needed a quick get away and decided to do a combo road trip/short cruise and go on Majesty for the 4th time. 3 times we have flown into Miami and cruised Majesty. I remember from those cruises, the thing I disliked about Majesty the most was all the pools and hottubs are closed at night. But I know from reading threads her for the past 10 years, things change.

Has anyone been able to take a late night soak in a Majesty hot tub? Its something we like to do (11pm or so) It won't make or break us.

We'll be on Monday as a " I need to get out of the house" thing. So will ask around as I would never be up there at that time of night.:D

    Human Soup!

    No Soup For You!!!!!!!!

  5. Carol; we will be in JS 7600 which is starboard and will be going up to deck 17 a lot! Will we have to walk up or down a deck to take the aft port side elevator? Bummer if so! ( I assume it is only the port side aft that goes all the way to deck 17.)

When going up you will have no problem as the elevator hallways on 17 are accessible from either side.

The problem comes in when coming down to deck 7. If you are going to your stateroom you have to remember to go the starboard side bank of elevators on 17 to avoid the walk. Easier said then done after a few "soda's":D

  6. Just curious - will this cause anyone posting here to cruise either:

    1. Less often

    2. In inside or outside cabins

    3. With other lines

If the answer is no, Royal has no reason to change this back...

Within the 6 month period we'll start looking at OV's more now. At lot of the times after applying the balcony discount it didn't make sense to even consider OV or inside.

I just wonder how this will play on the bigger ships with the huge amount of balconies they have to fill. I know we have filled them a few times or more in the past.

  7. At least one positive thing in that flyer is a permanent increase in pinnacle balcony discounts.

If I write to them and correct all of the mistakes in the flyer, may I have my benefit back?

Yes, it says Pinnacles have a permanent increase of 25.00. However on the chart they are showing the same increase for D+

    D+ will be happy!

  8. Harmony suite lounge on deck 17 has drinks from 11 to 11 for suites and pinnacle guests on all Oasis class [emoji7][emoji7]

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Awesome! We just upgraded our Harmony sailing. When we did, I cancelled our internet package. Think I will also cancel our drinks packages! Woot!

Just to clarify....drinks mean soda, water, beer and wine. There is no hard liquor served before the 5:00pm happy hour for free.

  9. To clarify: I am wondering if drinks (esp. wine) available in the Suite Lounge starting at 11:00 am. I understand the happy hour period in the afternoon. I was thinking about a glass of wine before lunch. ;)\

We will be on Freedom in December and Grandeur in February, both times in a Grand Suite.

    Thanks so much

The wine, beer, soda's starting at 11:00am are only available on the Oasis class ships for GS and above.

  10. I agree! They were consistent every time. Not only that, my wife loves a drink called "Ruby Relaxer", that is only available at Ruby Tuesday's. She was able to select "Create Your Own Drink", and pick the ingredients in a Ruby Relaxer, She was then able to Name it. It was perfect every time.

Did she get to select how much of each ingredient went into the drink?

One of the good things about a robot .... get a consistent drink every time unless it goes amuck:eek:

  11. I wonder what drink they ordered. I tried it once and it was the worst drink I had on Anthem. It was fun watching it being made but that was about it!

Same experience here with just a regular cocktail. Nothing fancy.

There was definitely room for improvement ... so maybe that's what they did in order for folks to utilize it more than a one time novelty.

  12. Surprisingly, several people recently have said that their best drinks were in the Bionic Bar.

Since it's all computerized, I wonder what pour they have it set to. The small plastic glasses might make it seem stronger. Wasn't so great on the Quantum, however that was when it was first rolled out.

Be a good question to ask at the next Bionic Bar. My bet is 1 ounce pour. Tops ounce and a half.

If they are making a drink with more than 3 items, I would think it would be right down to the recipe put in the computer.

  13. Yes, you can get a glass of pure Clamato juice sans the spices. I've done it on both Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. It's also tasty when added to an ice cold beer.

You may have to try a couple of bars to get Clamato juice because I don't believe all bars carry it.

Plenty on the Empress 3 weeks ago.

Good news......guess I've been going to the wrong bars:eek::)

  14. Can We Ask just for Clamato instead of Virgin cesar? Because my Sister don't want it with added spices.

We looooooooove Clamato, it's Our liquid drug lol!

    I love it tooooooo.

But I have not seen it on board. They use a premix for Bloody Mary's. Ceasar's are a Canadian thing which you know is a spicy BMary but made with Clamato!.

  15. I am diamond, booked in the smallest interior room near aft elevators deck 8, Central Park. Would you opt for a possible upgrade same deck? This deck has the through pass, so I'd like to stay on this deck. But, if I get upgraded, it might be to a larger interior which are forward. Seems convenience of most venues are aft. Maybe I should just stay put in the smaller room rather than risk it? What would you do, just curious. Thanks.

If on the slight chance you do get upgraded, it would be to an Ocean View at the least. I would take that any day. I have rarely if ever seen an upgrade from Interior to Interior just for different floors on the ship.

You know this is probably all for not as your chances are slim to none to get upgraded from an interior to on another deck 8.:confused::confused:

Your question asked if you would opt for an possible upgrade on the same deck being 8....well yes. I am looking at an upgrade as OV or Balcony,

The non pass through on 7 is a pain, however one flight up or down if you forgot and got on the wrong bank of elevators is no big deal if you were given an upgrade to an OV or Balcony.

  16. http://www.aswesawit.com/civitavecchia-attractions/

This will a greg day to spend time in the port. The large statues on the beach front are petty cool. Most folks don't ever get to see them. Enjoy

We had to skip Rome one time, last minute plans and ended up strolling around town. WE had a lovely day.

Thank you for the link. Very informative. More there than what I thought would be. Looking at this for our B2B on the Harmony this Oct. Seen all the majors in Rome so am looking at the turn around day without wasting it on the ship.:):D

  17. Never going to happen but post count continues to go up.:D

Never gonna happen. I think a whole new thread would be started if CB ever came back to answer someone.

I couldn't quote all the remarks regarding CB. But I do want to add this:

She/He has never once come on here and confronted or made condescending, confrontational or bullying remarks to anyone of the posters on CC. And I do believe he/she does read what's going on. Might not give the right answer all the time, but heck if we really looked hard we have all given the wrong answer at some point and time. I say lay off and move on. This is bullying. Ok so now I am a target geez

And........there was nothing wrong with the response she/he gave here earlier.

  18. Sometimes it's easier to talk about the places a business "misses it" so I just thought I'd share my recent interaction to talk about a great customer service experience I had.

I am getting married in a couple months and as we are older in years, are footing the bill, and of course, it's around that time where things are getting tighter and tighter as we prep for that day. I needed a couple extra days before I was able to pay the final balance in full and all it took was a phone call and my story for them to very graciously extend my final payment date by a few days. I had previously read threads on here where reservations were dropped, rooms given away, or agents were difficult, and that was not my experience at all. In fact, I have always booked over the phone with a RCCL agent and found it to be very pleasant. So anyway, may not seem like a big deal to most but for me, I was very thankful that they allowed this so we could keep the room we chose for our honeymoon cruise. Just thought I'd share - they're not always jerks ;)

That's a nice story and congrats!. Thank you for sharing.

Now according to your avatar "older in years" is looking great on you:):D
