An example for a balcony costing $1400.
Solo in Cabin A, $1400 = 14 points, $100 per point
Mrs. Married in Cabin B, $700 = 7 points, $100 per point
Mr. Married in Cabin B, $700 = 7 points, $100 per point.
Seems fair to me :)
Not fair when Mr. & Mrs. in Cabin B get 7 points as a couple, not 14 as the solo cruiser does. -
Thanks so much! I may be out of luck with the Comedy Club - no open spots for the entire week.
They always leave spots open for those that do not have a computer, so when you get onboard you will see venues to reserve shows. Just do it ASAP when you board.
Good Luck!

We are in an Owner's Suite so that is what I am asking: Can I just forget about making online reservations since all the desirable times are taken and ask the concierge nicely for two seats at each one of the shows that we would like to attend? Do I even have to ask the concierge? Can we just show up with our the "gold" card that I have heard about?
Yes you can forget about making reservations for the shows. Just show up at least 20/30 minutes before the show begins and they will scan your card...then head for the reserved seating. If you show up later than you just take a seat anywhere that is available.
Your card is gold colored for an OS, you are good to go.........no stickers needed.
The exception to this is the Comedy Club. You must make reservations for this. The venue is small.

;)
One of the best lines from any comedy I've ever seen.
I can see them now! :D:D Love that show!

No offense and I take this advice for myself as well as we have been on a Med cruise, but a tourist looks like a tourist. ;) The locals do dress differently whereas most tourists dress for comfort and stamina, especially concerning shoes.
Curious to know where you heard or read that you should wear business clothing in port; the locals may be wearing this but tourists wear jeans, shorts, sneakers, etc. all the time, not to worry.
Have fun. :)
Have to agree that the locals know a tourist when they see one no mater what you have on. Been to Europe more than a few times and seen many many jeans...but in the last few years they are always skinny jeans, with a layered look in the cooler climates.
Yes you will see the locals dressed in their business attire, however that is still going to look different than our business attire.
Your not going to fool anyone .......... so dress comfortably.:D

I don't get the attraction ... I mean you pay all that money, and then they make you eat with the staff!!!
:D
Umm are you thinking Hyacinth and Oslow in Keeping UP Appearances:D On the QE
Now that was toooo funny

Yes, free beer and soda. I don't recall if they offered wine too.
Yes wine is offered too.

Just a FYI:
The heading on the paper work now says "Open Booking Confirmation Letter"
instead of the "NextCruise Booking Confirmation Letter"
With the new Open Booking you can transfer it to anyone you like, as long as you have not committed it to a specific cruise yourself!:D

Hello again, everybody! Because I'm new to using Photobucket, I'm just now getting the hang of posting pics! Here are just a few photos of our Panoramic Oceanview cabin. Hope these come out ok; let me know.
We were in cabin 8600.
Outstanding view
The full view of the nearly "floor to ceiling" window.
Desk space with flat-screen tv; note our snacks on the upper shelf.
Our bed was beyond comfortable.
Me being a visual person, I would not care if I had a balcony with these windows. I think it looks great! Thanks for posting the photos.
Perfect for us! If the price of this over a balcony with discounts makes sense.

I'm around, just not as active since all I seem to do is work and sleep lately.
I just finished round 4 of chemo. Overall everything is going smooth, it's just wearing my body down. I'm still working a 40 hour week from home immediately after chemo (need to keep a paycheck coming in) and then another 40 hours in the office the following week. Then back to the hospital I go for the next round. :) Last cycle I learned the importance of having an immune system as I ended up with a fever and strep, they stuck me in the hospital for 2 days until I had a high enough white blood cell count to fight it off on my own. We caught everything so fast that I never felt any symptoms from the strep... just had the fever. The scans show that the tumor is slowing down (hopefully dying) but it isn't shrinking; however we didn't really expect it to shrink because of it's massive size. Two more rounds to go before we re-evaluate and figure out what the next step is. Hopefully it will be a little less intensive than what we have been doing, but I'll do whatever it takes to try and beat this!
Thank you for asking and keep those prayers coming. I need all the positive energy I can get to beat this.
I just stumbled across this thread and want to let you know many prayers are on the way and around you!

I don't get why not if you can move points across. I think they should have just one loyalty scheme across both brands.
They are not moving points. It's reciprocity ...in recognition only. If you are say Diamond on RCCL they on Celebrity will recognize you as Elite, no matter if your points on Celebrity is less than elite or never sailed with them.
When you finish that cruise on Celebrity the points for that cruise will be added to your Captain's Club account. If you have never sailed before they will automatically open one up for you because of your D status on RCCL

Nice, this post pops up every year and so glad to see it. Very well worth it for those that have not seen it.:D
-
Major bummer. But we can't complain as we aren't going to make Pinnacle until Aug 2014. :)
It will be on the Brilliance in the Baltics. :)
How nice and what a great ship and itinerary to do it on...........Early Congrats!:D
-
My memory is not what it used to be. :o Thanks for the heads up. :)
Mine either...... I had to look it up! :D
-
I think when you hit 650 you get three amenities. :)
It is at 525 when you get the 3rd amenity.
-
No wonder so any Pax are complaining about the RCL website, the towel gift is not available as a gift since 1-2012 as reported by the know it all on CC.
Check the gift list and its still available on the site.
I had requested a towel on our January cruise. My gift came and the accompanying card said "RCL Towel" but instead it was a tote bag!!! :eek:Linda (and C. D.)
On our next cruise in a few weeks we have requested the towels. I definitely do not want another tote bag
Is the recommendation to change it to something else?
I've heard the element bag is not very user friendly.
-
We;re D+ 443 pts. and only got one beer last trip. Everyone sure we're supposed to get 2 before I call RCL.
(Patti will know !)
We're near 600 and always have had 2
-
next week is our first cruise a D+ and we have Corona beer selected as our welcome aboard drink. Since we are both D+ do we each get a Corona? Will they be cold or at least put in the mini fridge?
Yes there will be 2 Coronas on the counter. They will not be cold.
No problem, we just take them to any bar and exchange for cold ones.:D You can ask your cabin attendant to get a bucket of ice for you but we don't bother.
Congrat's on getting to D+

The projected number is 400 by the end of the year. As of the end of January, 2013 there were 329.
What the heck......I think they should announce along with your newly acquired Pin...status your standing # in the line.
Hmmmmm that could go one way or the other for some of the P folks......
I got mine at 11:32am............Oh no way mine was at 11:31am so I am number xxx
Just saying! Not even in the mix at this point!

Biscotti are meant to be dipped in your coffee, tea or wine.:p:D
On our Jewel B2B we first got a basket with a blue ribbon, which I think was the Diamond basket - it had the shortbread cookies. The next time we got the white ribbon, which had the biscotti and more goodies than the other one. So you could ask to be demoted.;)
Geez you learn something new every day. In the coffee or tea sounds pretty good, other wise I am now looking for Diamonds wanting to trade cooooookies!
I brought my basket home:) It sits next to my computer with all my camera/usb cords in it.You know I could use that basket right about now! Guess I will save a couple and bring them home:D
They're pretty sturdy!
-
Us too! I never thought of bringing a basket home though. Probably because there is almost no extra room in the suitcase. :D:):D
You don't take the basket home.......you take everything out of the basket and then put the basket in the garbage. The little packages of stuff take up little room:D
-
I use the box on the room desk for makeup or electronics chargers, depending on room category and room storage layout. I use a couple of the boxes in the pantry at home for little things.
:D
Ah ha....great idea! I will start using it for reciepts, loose change from ports. That will work out perfectly.:D
I like the shortbread cookies better than the biscotti too. I'm afraid of breaking a tooth :eek:I was afraid too, but now I know it is going to be hard so can be careful with them.
-
I vote that they do away with the baskets nobody wants, and bring back the yummy pillow chocolates each evening! :p:D
I vote no also. I really like the nuts and the trail mix and take them to work for a healthy snack.
I love the shortbread cookies but never seem to get them anymore:( Instead we get the brown chocolate hard as rock morsels which are good once you bite into them. They always seem to get eaten.
