  1. @brilloheadHope weather holds out for you tomorrow in Cozumel. I'm seeing about 50% chance of rain for you tomorrow and again for us next Friday.

Sorry you'll be getting off Sunday when we're getting on. I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread that you and @Ozark_Kidput together and others have contributed to. It's been great information. Thank You!

We sail on Harmony in March.  I've been checking cruise planner every day in order to book entertainment.  Yesterday the message changed to Reserve your Seat now.  However there is nothing else on the page.  Nothing to book, nothing to click, etc.  Any one ever seen this or have any idea why?  Am I doing something wrong or think it's just Royal IT issues?

    Thanks

That's how mine was when reservations1st opened. I was actually able to book in the APP when that appeared online, then a day or two later, the ability to book was available online (and also still, in the app).

Its back showing again, it was a quirk in the planner it seems.  Note that even when it did not show in the planner, if you went your profile and selected show all reservations, it was listed.

Yes, thanks! I noticed last night it was back to showing correctly and it appeared you could make reservations in advance again.

You're right, my reservation was listed the entire time, just as a generic comedy show without the details. It's all back to "normal" now.

    5 days until boarding!!!

  4. I'm sailing on Allure Feb 5th. I was able to make a reservation for the adult comedy show in Comedy Live when the entertainment reservations 1st opened up for my cruise the beginning of January AND it is still showing up in My Calendar on the app (but no longer with details).

I mention this because the adult comedy show schedule no longer shows in the app and it's gone from the cruise planner on the internet. I also can no longer see the Adult Comedy Show schedule on the current Allure sailing. I'm just guessing, but to me it's looking like you can no longer make a reservation for this show in advance, only once you can access the app onboard.

You can still make reservations in advance for the other 3 shows (Aqua, Ice, Mamma Mia) btw.

I'll be curious to see if the honor my comedy show advance reservation once I'm onboard or if I'll I've to reserve it again. I'll be checking right away as soon as I board.

  5. I didn't pay any extra for my passport renewal and it took 7 weeks minus 1 day. I mailed it on 10/27/22 and got it back in the mail on 12/15/22.

    You should be fine.

    Good Luck!

P.S. I'm in Houston area. Can't remember off the top of my head which office I sent it to. I wonder if those taking longer went to different places and/or are new vs. renewal. Except poor @Mum2Mercy

  6. FYI - I had access to reservations on the app before access on their website.

I had noticed the page banner had changed on the internet, but the shows weren't showing to book yet. I happened to look on the app & they were there. I think the app had them a couple of days earlier than website.

I noticed reservations available in the app at about 33 days out. My cruise is Feb 5th. I'd heard on CC that they were possibly releasing on the 1st of the month prior to the cruise but since that was New Year's and the Monday holiday the 2nd, maybe it took a couple of more days? Or maybe it's always around 30 days out?

  7. Hello! On the news this morning - Tues 1/17/23 - Galveston itself was experiencing zero visibility due to fog. I was curious whether this had been effecting any cruise arrivals/departures recently. Anyone keeping track? I know it's the season for it!

We sail Feb 5-12 on the Allure of the Seas.

    Thanks!

  8. 2nd Refreshment Package question not to be confused with the one I just posted.

Let's say DH wants to indulge in an alcoholic Lava Flow. Can he order the non-alcoholic one with his package and just pay for a shot of rum "on the side"? So maybe paying around $10+gratuity instead of full $14+gratuity? Has anyone done this? I'm thinking for an extra cash tip the bartender would go ahead and mix it in as well instead of serving it on the side. Thoughts?

    Thanks!

  9. Hello! We are sailing on the Allure soon.

DH is getting the Refreshment Package instead of Deluxe Beverage Package for 1st time. I just want to be sure I'm correctly telling him what is included.

    The official list:

    Fountain Soda

    Freestyle beverages

    Non-alcoholic cocktails (mocktails)

    Still and sparkling water

Premium coffees and teas (I know not THE Starbucks location)

    Fresh-squeezed juices

Question is are the following included - and for sure included or do they vary by ship (of course no, if venue isn't even on the ship) and/or bartender:

    Energy Drinks

    Johnny Rockets Milkshakes/Malts

    Vitality Spa Smoothies

Anything else I'm not thinking of?

    Thank you!

Question about reserving parking in the North, South, or Pier 14 lot(s).  When you make the reservation, do they charge your credit card right away?  I assume they do but I just want to know for sure.  If so, do they charge you for the entire anticipated cruise time, for one night, etc?.

I booked 1/1/23 for 2/5/23-2/12/23. I was charged full amount immediately. Shows up as "Galveston Wharves".

When booking it is listed as one price for your particular cruise, not per day btw.

I booked North lot uncovered btw. I just reserved under the wire with a coupon code that's since expired.

W/o coupon we may have used our regular lot Lighthouse parking with covered spot, high ground. We're giving POG North Lot a try this time around.

  11. I was able to book my shoes on the Allure 2/5/23 in the APP 33 days out. I had been looking at the cruise planner online & noticed that the screen had changed. I wasn't able to book online but this prompted me to check the App where I was able to book.

Note that you will only be able to see the schedule for shows that require reservations at this point. I had followed several Allure cruises with the same itinerary prior and made some notes so I could plan my reservations around other entertainment/activities not listed yet. Will have to wait to see how I did.😉

  12. So has anyone tried this scenario...

    Platinum so no vouchers involved.

    Refreshment Pkg.

Say you want a regular Lava Flow with alcohol. Can you order a mocktail one with Refreshment pkg with a shot of rum on the side for say ~$10 total instead of $14?

If so, how likely is bartender to just go ahead & mix it for you? Extra tip included. 😉

Thanks for the Review.  We are going in Feb on the Allure and have just realized that the new terminal is not near the old terminal and therefore EZ parking our old "go to" is not the best option now.  My DH was wondering how much you paid for the south lot if you can recall.  Also when did you reserve the South lot? It looks like some of the other places are now charging for shuttles so this is a new world to us.  We have not sailed out of Galveston in a while so any parking hints from any one are appreciated.

Hi! I was reading another post earlier and realized I hadn't booked parking for my Feb 5th cruise. I booked the North lot using coupon code grandopening22 today. Saved me $20. It was still high to me $147/148 but that was the same as our usual Lighthouse covered parking and we will save having to tip the shuttle baggage handlers and driver. Was surprised how high Lighthouse was! We only paid $90 ($100-10 coupon) Jan 2022. Don't know if it's because of higher shuttle charges for new terminal.

  14. So how specific can you get in your request? Can I request a table for two along the rail? On an upper deck 4 or 5 by the rail for early dining (on Allure). Too specific? Too entitled?

Any other location requests to avoid tables so close we couldn't fit through? 😆 DH not that social...
