  1. We are taking my husbands parents on Oceana cruise in October and are looking to book Croation countryside & Cetna river. My mother in law has problems walking with short breath due to triple bypass, does anyone know if this excursion is suitable, is it a small boat as in picture on excursion page and is there much walking? If we do not do the excursion is it far to walk to the hoho bus from the ship. Thanks for any info.

  2. hi we are on Baltic cruise in July and wondering if any one has any info on whether Princes charge for shuttle buses into city centres - do they charge for all passengers and if so how much?

    Thanks

  3. hi we are booked on Crown Princess Baltic cruise. The two day excursions sound great but should we plan anything for the evening or is it best to spend the evening on board resting the old feet !!

    Thanks for any info

  4. Thanks for the fantastic review. We will be sailing on her soon, our itinerary is almost the same except we go to Zadar instead of Ravenna. I will be adding all your helpful hints and tips to my little list (love making lists ha ha) along with other helpful info from others who have posted on your review - so thanks to all.

I will add your name to our roll call so that others can read your fab review. Its a great itinerary and I'm really looking forward to it.

    Thanks again

  5. Just got back today (same flights) was always planning to add the 10kg but was told due to a system upgrade we had to do it at check in, in the end we didn't need it but my Mum and Dad did. We took the emails and a tweet I sent as proof and they did it easy but we were never told they might not be able to do it if they were full [emoji15]

Bit of advice, they only charged them for one way and as we were going back to get it corrected the P&O man said 'off the record' they won't weigh the cases on the way back so don't bother and he was right, the cases just went with no problems, enjoy your cruise, Azura and the Caribbean were amazing

    Thanks for the replies.

Hope you had a great time, we are looking forward to it - did many men wear the formal d.j. ? We are going to check out the weight of it with the luggage scales :D. I am going to have to be so organised, not my usual throw it in a suitcase and order a big taxi :)

  6. Hi we are on Azura in March - Thomas Cook, Gatwick to Barbados.

We have spoken to P & O about increasing our luggage allowance and they have said we can not pre book it, it has to be done at check in, also be aware that they may not be able to allocate the extra 5 / 10kg if they are at capacity !!!!!

So what do we do - there are no premium seats available, so we can't get the extra weight that way.

Also if you turn up with extra weight that they can take don't you pay a premium for NOT pre booking ?!

    Any helpful advice greatly appreciated.

  7. Thanks for both the replies - the idea of Blu for breakfast sounds like a great idea and I guess if I don't like what is on the menu there will always be some where else open for a snack or two :)

    Thanks again

  8. Hi we have just received our room allocation on celebrity eclipse for their 2 night cruise in a couple of weeks - Aqua class (there must be a catch :D )

I don't want to seem like I am grumbling (honestly I'm not) - but I have looked at the menu for Blu and it's not really to my taste - I know there are always lots of other dining options but would we be able to use the MDR for freedom dining or do we HAVE to use Blu.

    Thanks for any info

  9. We booked a cruise on Arcadia in November 2014 for a cruise departing August 2015.

A few days after we booked the ports of call changed due to the Russia/Ukraine problem.

We understood why and were happy with the alternative ports of call.

However when I checked the cruise details on line to look in more detail at the ports I noticed the price had changed significantely.

The cruise was a lot cheaper and the on board credit increased by quite a lot.

When I telephoned P and O to ask if they would offer the new price to us the reply was they couldn't/wouldn't as we had already booked with a low deposit offer!!! So we cancelled the first booking and rebooked at the new price, ok so we lost the "low deposit" but gained the other benefits.

Will be very wary in future of booking early and with P and O.

even though we have cruised with them seven times before.

We also checked our prices after an advert on the tv - like you we cancelled the first booking, lost the low deposit but the cruise is now £700 cheaper !!!

Wow so happy lots of on board credit mean lots of cocktails or champagne for breakfast ha. We had originally booked a balcony cabin and an inside opposite and have managed the same just a few doors down what is strange though is that i don't think they were availalable at original time of booking.

  10. Hi we have just returned form our med cruise. We docked at la seyne sur mer on a Sunday. We weren't going to get off but saw a road train from the balcony and went to investigate it was going into la seyne sur mer 5 euro per person return (or was is 4?!). The walk would have been a nice stretch of the legs but not a particularly pretty walk. The little town didn't look much but go a street behind and it is lovely, very French with a lovely fresh Sunday food market. Lots of cafés and cake shops yum!!

Indy were charging $18 for the ferry to toulon (there was no mention of a shuttle bus) and they were saying to get the ticket from the excursion desk on the ship to beat the queues on the dock. Later in the evening we were talking to someone who had done research on internet and it was possible to get a ticket for the boat for only €4 - a different boat just round the corner. When they went to the ticket office on the dock one person said it wasn't available but another said it was and they got the tickets.

There are queues and people said there wasn't much in toulon but it was a Sunday. I think there were some bikes on the dock which you could rent and there was a sign to the beach but I don't know how far that was.

Have a great cruise - hope this helps.

  11. Love the review - I keep checking for the next instalment like a good book ha !

A little question have they been charging for the shuttle buses ? If so do you know how much on average. Chocolate for breakfast - sounds awful but hey I've got to give it a go ha who doesn't like chocolate sound like a great way to start the day - I just pity the parents of the little ones who get a sugar high ha ha !

Enjoy the rest of your cruise and thanks again.

  12. Hi I love the review - thanks. I'm looking forward to the next instalment as we will be sailing on her soon.

I do have a question for when you get to Rome - I have been reading that they have changed the port entrance from South to North and that it is now a mile walk to the station. Are you planning to go to Rome as I independent travellers by train and if so can you please let us know how you get on thanks. We tried to book the private train as there will be 4 other ships when we arrive but it is already full !!

    Have a great time
