  1. You can do nothing without the code on the paper. The TA needs this. My mistake for not copying it down. It should have been returned to me. We booked the cruise with her because we had the 30% discount. That is a lot of $$$. I do not want to have to cancel.
  2. thanks for the reply... the problem is she took the discount paper saying she was going to make a copy and give it back to me which she never did. Otherwise, I could even just cancel her booking & rebook using the code on the paper. I hate dumping something so complicated on my TA as it seems TA'S & MSC take awhile to communicate together. I will try the casino dept. when they open tomorrow but the MSC lady I spoke to today said they probably will not talk to me because the other TA is listed.
  3. Off the Seashore yesterday, Yacht club. They wanted us to leave by 9am
  4. Just got off the Seashore yesterday, fantastic cruise. Great employees....except 1... Played a lot in the casino. Head guy Floyd was great. Those of you that play in the casino know about the 30% discount coupon. I usually use a travel agent but unfortunately decide to rebook onboard. A blond named Susona (I think)....did the booking & took the discount paper & said she would copy my usual agent & return the discount paper.. We paid the downpayment, she made the booking with NO 30% discount. She left me her ext. number if questions. I called, no answer & no way to leave a message. The next day I could not find her but her partner was there & said it was just a mistake & she would fix it & get me my original discount paper back. Of course that did not happen. That was the night before we left. I drove the concierge crazy in the middle of the night about this. He kept trying to call her & no answer or way to leave a message. This is very sad to me because we only booked because of that discount. I just got off the phone with MSC. They said they could not discuss it with me because I booked through a travel agent. I said that was not so. I booked onboard. They said that since their agent copied my usual agent....it was no longer their booking ! PLEASE, ANY SUGGESTIONS TO TRY AND RESOLVE THIS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
  5. I find them very accommodating. We actually booked 1 month past the expiration date. Wanted a YC3 which would not have been affordable without the coupon. That was the soonest date around the time we could go that one of those categories was available so they made the exception. There are only 2 of those on each ship.
  6. Seems so much easier with a travel agent. Never had to 'email' the certificate. I would say the price is adjusted within a week.
  7. We have used that certificate many times. I ALWAYS book through my favorite internet travel agent. They throw in free gratuities & OBC. THEN I call the casino department at MSC & give them the booking number, They go in and adjust the 30%percent off the total. Remember this does not apply to port charges & taxes. Never had a problem. That is why I say the MSC casino club is the best at sea. the other cruiselines make you book directly with them. That way you miss out on added perks from a travel agent.
  8. These are very different from the cabanas on some of the other MSC ships. I realize these are free unlike the others where you pay. On the other ships, cabanas are reserved for you automatically if you are in a YC3 cabin. Does anyone know if this is true on the ships where they are free ? I understand they get taken quite quickly since there is no charge. thanks
  9. What kind of guarantee cabin did you book ? Balcony ? Suite ? If so, do not worry, you will get something in at least that category & maybe even something better. Unfortunately for us, the cruise I was referring to was a real lesson learner. We booked something called 'run of the ship'. It turned out to be the worst cabin on the ship.
  10. We used to do guarantee cabins years ago. Once we did not get our cabin assignment until we were at the dock.
  11. Looks like it. I am thrilled. We sail in less than 2 weeks !
  12. We always sail YC. On formal nights, my husband does wear a jacket but no longer a tie. I wear black pants & a fancy top. Some are dressed more formal than us & some less.....a lot less :O) We are getting OLD and falling a part....so comfort has now come in to play :O)
  13. We started sailing MSC before the Yacht Club started. Basically because of price & itinerary. Most differences because of culture things that a lot of Americans are not used to. Entertainment.... You will not see comedians because of language difference among the passengers. Coffee was always VERY strong for me. Now they have added 'American' coffee. Their egg dishes seemed a bit different. It was then explained to me that they cook/fry their eggs in olive oil, not butter. Pasta , al dente, etc. Now their ships have gotten a bit bigger & more Americanized (we only sail in the Caribbean) Because of some of the changes, including the ships seeming to be much more crowded. We ONLY sail in the yacht club. It is really over the top & worth the extra $$....remember it also include your drink package & wifi. AND....if you play in the casino...after a few days you get a 30% off your next cruise certificate. It does have an expiration date on it but we always immediately book another YC cabin with it. AND, if problems with your booking, you can call the casino people for help and not the main MSC phone number. These people are amazing. Awhile back, I had to cancel our cruise just a few weeks before sailing because I had to get a knee replacement. we ha NO insurance. They were very nice & pushed out our date with no penalty. I am sure if I called the main number, they would have been very sympathetic, & then explained to me the value of insurance before telling me I lost everything.
  14. Cannot answer your questions specifically but..... We have sailed in the Royal suite (YC3) on several different ships & they are marvelous. There are only 2 on each ship so if you are really interested & one is available, you should grab it.
  15. Surprised they were this early AND surprised we have a 10am boarding time !
  16. We are using Larry's Limo next month to get from our Fort Lauderdale hotel to the port of Miami. $125. includes taxes & gratuities.
  17. Miami & Fort Lauderdale have testing sites by the baggage claim area. Rapid tests are $59. We were in & out in a half hour with paper results in hand. Perhaps other airports offer the same.
  18. think I just made a mistake.....Bahamas ????
  19. I know their private island is technically Bermuda... It is on our September itinerary. Nice if that did not count !
  20. Snagged this link off the Holland board. If I am reading this right, NCL will stop testing for vaccinated on 9/3. Maybe the other lines will follow.... ncl.com/sail-safe
