This is part of an email that I received this week.

And because you booked a suite before December 1, 2023, it won't cost you a thing!

This epic, seven-course journey transports you to the Mediterranean.

We can’t give away the menu, but we can give you a sense (or five) of what to expect:

    • Seven courses showcasing the best of Mediterranean cuisine perfectly paired with cocktails and wine
    • Dazzling imagery in a room wrapped with hi-def screens
    • Stunning hi-res sound for a unique sonic element
    • Enticing aromas pumped into the atmosphere
    • Captivating stories about the food you’re enjoying ? and the people who produced it

Space is limited, so secure your seat at the table with your suite concierge as soon as you're on board.”

    looks like it is official.

I certainly would NOT wait until I am onboard.

On my coming up trip, there all already 4 nights with NO vacancies & only 1 with the second seating available.  That is why I went ahead & made my reservation awhile back & will deal with the issue of complimentary or not when I get onboard..

I know you mentioned the older documents you were going to take along to prove that you should get 360 as a suite perk.  I'd also suggest that you generate a new Travel Summary and if that shows 360 (as mine does), print that too as it would have today's date on it.  I keep saying this but Princess needs to do better with communications.  The sneaky approach they've used with so many things as they have eliminated perks or increased pricing without notification just creates ill will.  Good luck to you and please come back and let us all know how it goes.

They are actually not old....just from this week !

Will let you know. Been watching some youtubes

Even if they do not comp it, I do not think I will cancel. Looks fabulous & we may never have another chance to see it !

  3.    Glad I went ahead & made a booking.

Even though it says I will be charged. I will take up with the concierge when onboard.

    I can always cancel.

The times for the 360 dining are 5:00pm & 7:30pm.

Cruise is a little less than 2 weeks out.  We had a good choice because we are old & only want early dining  BUT   there is only one evening left for the 7:30 pm slot and 2 nights with NO availability !  I think it risky to wait until you are onboard to book.

It only holds 20 people per session. That is a very small percentage of the ship & it is getting more popular.

  4. I always leave $2. bills. I think of them as a lucky piece.

I have coffee & pastry delivered to the room each morning & give one.

I also give one if there is a lady serving the rest room while I am in there. I do not think many people acknowledge them.

AND, my grandchildren love them. They show them off to their friends !

    • Thanks 1
  5. Holland Neptune Suite vs Princess Suites (several categories).

ALL Princess suites win hands down on most Princess ships.

There is the ability to close off the sleeping area from the living room area on Princess.

AND their bathrooms are the best. There is a toilet/sink area that totally closes off from the bathtub/shower/sink area. Almost like having 2 bathrooms !

Their concierge lounge has snacks 24 hrs. & a complementary cocktail time in the evening.

It is also set up more for visiting others.

  7.     I cannot spend anymore time on this , especially because everyone says something different.

I just went ahead & booked it on the app.to save the space. This is so limited that I worry it would book up before we board.

I was told there was no charge until your actual reservation time.

I went ahead & printed off my email that says complementary & I also printed off the FULL PAGE ad on the Princess site that says it is a suite perk in case the eliminate that.

I am going to discuss this with the concierge when we get on board.

Just a suggestion but, you might leave that part out of any further communication with Princess.

Or then again, go ahead and try to use that card 🙂

    Cheers

    good suggestion.

Just frustrated by this. I know perks come & go all the time. I wasted so much time today on this.

One person 'thanked' me for bringing it to their attention that the website was still showing that as a suite perk in error & they will have that removed.

Another said they are going to send out a retraction to all the people that got the email that said it was complementary. Doesn't anybody proof read things anymore ??

  9.      On Dec.7th, we booked a suite on the Discovery Princess for next month.

We were told that because we had a suite, the 360 dining was a suite perk.

TODAY, I got an email saying to call the number provided to make the reservation for my complementary 360 dining experience.

Spoke to 3 people that seemed confused before one finally said we were NOT eligible.Apparently that perk was discontinued on

Dec. 2nd and anyone booking after that date was not entitled. We were 5 days late.

They apologized for the email but said....too bad !

On the Princess website TODAY it says "360: A Priceless Benefit To Princess Suite Guests".

It is really the principle of the thing. I feel we are entitled to this.

An exhausting fight for hours on the phone today with no resolve.

What do you think ? ?

Yes, I did that but found their availability was different than HAL's. As an example, the HAL site showed zero availability of aft verandah cabins, but the "C" store' site showed they were all available. I wonder if the "C" store had just bought all the aft verandah cabins. 🤷‍♀️

I never use the cruise line site for that kind of info NOR do i ever book through them !

I'm not sure why we this old thread has been resurrected, the whole thing including the lame title was pretty petty. I'm having a hard time understanding how anyone gets bent out of shape because the cruise line won't give them a jug of distilled water, seriously? When the OP walks into a store at home to get distilled water, does he just walk out with the water and not pay? If you can afford the cruise you can afford the distilled water.

I TOTALLY agree with you & I AM THE ONE THAT STARTED THIS THREAD !

We cruise most all the cruise lines  & no other cruise line has ever charged us a penny for distilled water.

Just got used to it being a usual perk & was bummed at Holland for charging but am now OK with it.

In fact, it probably will not be long before the other lines do. It seems when one cruise line tries something different that generates $$, it is not long before the others follow.

I am old & come from a time where they did not charge for soda, bottled water, fresh squeezed orange juice, fancy coffee. There was no such thing as a pay restaurant. Your boarding passes were mailed to you & you got a leather room key case when you got onboard.

Pictures were $2.95. Each Bingo game gave back ALL the money taken in from the sale of cards for that game. I am sure there are many things I cannot recall

BUT we will pay for the water & I still think cruising is the best value out there !

  12. I use a large internet agency

I go to the exact cruise I want to take

I put in the cat. cabin I want & hit continue

It will show me ALL the cabins available in that category.

I ALWAYS do that before I book.

    Just google...large internet travel agencys

I am sure that it will work within the first few names that pop up

It was so easy to just pop over to laundromat early and do it yourself. Didn't cost a cent without worries of the service shrinking your stuff in industrial washers.

The laundromats are one of the top 5 reasons I sail with princess! So easy peasy!

We were on the Regal a few month ago  & you DID have to pay to use the machines but it was nominal.

Can I get a full suite for $4,000 dollars on a 14 day cruise on a casino deal ?  That’s for 2 people.

I have gotten the offer for a mini suite & then called to upgrade for a full suite.

You pay the difference but it is not as much as you might think.

Not sure.  Guess it’s all my fault 😂

That's ok. I didn't notice it at first.

Once when we were leaving the cabin, I asked the steward how he knew when to make up the cabin since there was no tag to hang on the door. He showed me the 2 buttons outside the door....small & easy to overlook.

One for privacy & one for make up the room.

BUT....he said with the medallion you have, they ALWAYS know when you are not in the room & assume it is ok to enter..

So, it is VERY important if you leave the room & do not want them in, that you hit the privacy button.

Sorry for the absence-I was having too much fun! Update from the bag saga…… Stewart came to my room and asked me about the report that he yelled at me.  I told him I was unsure who it was- just someone who said I couldn’t drop my bag.  He was a little assertive in saying that he was here to work and not have drama and that his supervisor needed to know it wasn’t him.  I sent a crew chat and then told him.  He then BROUGHT the supervisor to my room while I was getting ready.  Supervisor apologized and said they should have let me drop the bag.

i think he was new.  He tried to do his job but was intrusive and missed things.  The bedside lamps were dusty when I got there and dusty when I left.  I wrote HI to the people coming onboard for the next cruise 😂. He seemed rushed and took my breakfast before I had eaten anything.  I saw it in the hall and asked for it back.  Then, he never took anything. He would run in to service the room in the morning when I’d go get coffee and I’d be left without a place to go.  The last morning he was stripping my bed before 7 because I had left the room!  That left me without a bed to use for packing because I didn’t want to mess it up!!

I got the wrong disembarkation information and never got any information about Captain’s Circle or Platinum/Elite events.  Note on that- went to guest services to ask about my transfer.  They told me I would have to see shore excursions who was closed.  Made it to shore excursions the next day and they sent me BACK to guest services.  When I got in the transfer- no one even asked our names!

I felt like the crew was stressed.  I even heard 2 talking about passengers from the past cruise in Churchill’s.  I am going to chalk it up to fatigue from a 15 day and give them the benefit of the doubt on this one.  It didn’t ruin my vacation but I am one of those people who expects everyone to do their job with pride (insert Jimmy Buffett’s It’s My Job here).  Dealing with him was uncomfortable and if that ever happened again I would raise a stink.

Now, on to the great stuff in the next post!

did you hit the privacy button outside your door ???

if not they do the room
