We are on the two Enchanted cruises right before you April 6 and April 13.  Keep us posted as I would be curious what kind of bid adjustment that they might make.

    Enjoy your cruise.

Wow, huge difference.  Example, the max bid to go from our current premium suite to a penthouse is $95 per person.  To go from ours to an owners suite max bid is $650pp.  I dont remember what they were prior to us upgrading our current room, but it was in the thousands.  Especially the owners, i think the max bid was like $2500pp.

  2. We are traveling on Enchanted princess in april and read that suite passengers have gotten on as early as 10:30.  Has anyone had recent experience of this?  We are thinking about staying at a hotel that i dont have a good status with so late checkout may not be available. It would be great just to get on the ship around 11 when we have to check out.

    Thanks

  3. I cancelled them this morning then went back in to see if the offer amounts changed to give me better chances and they haven't yet.  But it also shows me being able to make offers on cabins below my current level so my guess is it hasn't updated with the new cabin info yet.  When i booked a few weeks ago, it took a little over 24 hours to be able to get into the system to make offers so my hope is that it will update by tomorrow and ill try again.

However, when we did upgrade last night, we got the highest that was still available, S5 so everything else above that may already be booked.  We are only about 2 months out from the cruise.

    Thanks

  4. Hi, we recently upgraded our mini suite to a premium suite but we already had bids in for upgrades.  Do we need to do that again now that we have an upgraded room?  I want to give it a day or two, but im going to assume they will cancel our bids for anything below we we currently have??

Also, should the bids on the penthouse or owners suite bids go down given our current cruise cost has gone up quite a bit?

    Thanks

  5. So this is pretty specific, but we are trying to rack up more activity on out next cruise in the casino to see if we can get some casino offers in the future and from what i have read, its not how much you spend but rather how much time / cycles you spend in there.  So, that being said, the only thing in the casino i can play for any length of time is video poker and i prefer it to be at the bar.  A lot of ships have it built into the bar so im wondering if that's the case with Enchanted.

    thanks

  6. Thanks for the info everyone, and we have made final payment.  The cruise is 60 days out.  We booked the 360 experience and we just assumed it wasnt included in the package because it is pricy.  $149 per person. So we went the whole way through the booking process and it did charge my credit card the $300ish cost for 2 people.  Got the notification from AMEX shortly after booking.  So we tried to book the catch next, and it also wanted to charge us for that as well so we didnt go the whole way through the booking process.

We're trying to not rack up too many issues that we have to spend time in guest services to resolve.  We had a nightmare on MSC last year with random charges that i spent no less than 2 hours in guest services to try to get resolved to no avail.  Thank goodness for AMEX allowing us to deny charges.

That may be the case on some departures but definitely not all. We waited over an hour in a hot, crowded and cranky line to pick ours up at the port in San Pedro for our recent cruise. It was not a fun way to start a relaxing vacation. My daughter and her husband had their medallions and basically walked right on the ship. They were already well into a relaxing lunch in the MDR by the time we managed to board. So no, it wasn’t 30 seconds, it was stressful and we missed our traditional MDR lunch on boarding which is how we love to start our cruise. I will always try to get it shipped in advance from now on.

Thats exactly our concern as well.  Anything we can do to ease the boarding process we are all for.

    Thanks

Using the web version, I was able to enter my address and it would save it but it kept saying address not found or something like that when I tried to continue. Figured it was the address verification program that they use so tried Crt vs Court and a few other variations.  Got out and went back in - looked at the order and my address was there, hit the place my order and received my confirmation.  Another wonder of Princess IT programming.  I have stayed away from the app after it screwed up my dining reservations and now only use the web version till I get on the ship.

Yep, that was it.  Thank you.  We live on Summersweet Court so i tied Summersweet Ct and it took it.

Thanks again, i greatly appreciate it.

When you say "erroring out"...what exactly do you mean?  Are you actually given some type of message?

Others have posted that if *everything* is not filled out in other sections of the app that it will not allow medallion orders.

You may have better luck using the "web version" in your cruise personalizer.  Log in, access cruise personalizer and on the VERY FIRST TAB (Summary, I think) scroll down just a bit until you see:

    web version.jpg

When i choose the shipping option, the it just spins, then takes me back the main screen but doesnt have what i selected and still says required. no errors but it wont let me proceed.  I know that sounds weird, but to your point, i need probably complete the check in process and try again.
    Thanks

  10. We are about 63 days our from our cruise and trying to get our medallion sent to our house but it keeps erroring out on the app.  Are we too close to the sail date to have it sent or are we doing something wrong?  Maybe we have to complete the check in first?

    Thanks

  11. Can someone tell me that has rented a cabana if it comes with a waiter?  On Edge, we had a waiter that would bring drinks, food, etc and would tidy it up when we were away from the cabana.  Maybe being able to order from the app makes that unnecessary??

Also, as far as cost goes, i dont disagree that its pricy, but definitely in line with other cruise lines.  Our cabin on Edge last year was $300.

Additional information. There are also lounges in the Sanctuary. They are $20/half day, $40/full day and $30/day if you book the entire cruise. They are 1st come, 1st to select. When boarding you have to go directly to the sanctuary before you do anything else. It's all the way forward on deck 18. There will be many passengers that booked these 7 day voyages b2b. b2b passengers are able to book the sanctuary on the final day of their initial voyage. The sanctuary is popular on tropical cruises.

You mention the Retreat. The Retreat Pool is an adult pool one deck below the sanctuary. It's open to all. There is no pool in the sanctuary. There is a hot tub.

Thank you and the Retreat throws us off because it means something very different on X.  I think we are looking for a cabana for 2-3 days of the cruise so fingers crossed they will be available. To the other posters point, hopefully the higher cost than the loungers will give us a better chance.

    thanks again

I believe there are 10 of them on the Enchanted.  On our voyage, the Cabanas were never sold out.

awesome, thanks again.  Celebrity edge class ships have similar cabanas although these look a bit more private.  price seems very reasonable too because i think we did pay a bit more on celebrity.

As far as the Cabanas in the Sanctuary, you booked them on the ship as soon as you board.  This is done in-person at the Sanctuary.  They are $220 per day.

Below are photos from the Enchanted this past November.

Awesome and thank you for the pics.  Thats exactly what we were looking for.  Do you know about how many there are?  We would definitely do multiple days if available.  thx again

  15. I asked for a comparison between the Caribbean princess and celebrity reflection and got these responses. and yes, i know its going to be biased given i asked it on the celebrity board, but most people sailed on both that responded.  We ended up choosing the enchanted princess...

  16. We are new to Princess and just booked a april cruise on Enchanted princess. We are unfamiliar with how cabanas and the retreat work but on X and NCL you have to book the haven and retreat with the cabins, but that doesnt seem to be the case with princess or at least the rep we talked to on the phone said that we could book cabanas and access to the retreat once we board the ship.  Can someone explain how that works because you cant do that with the other 2 lines i mentioned.

    Thanks

It is not how much you win or lose but how much you run through the machine. I play only penny machines & try to keep my bet at about $2.00.

Example...I put $40. in the machine & lose it all in 5 minutes. I have almost no points.

I put $40. in and hit a jackpot & walk away. I have almost no points.

I put $40. dollars in & get a lot of play and constantly hit $5, $20, etc. I might play there for an hour. I call these my point machines because whether or not I come away with any money, I have gather a lot of points.

You will get on an email list with a few different cruise lines because they share the gambling info. The offers can be quite good.

They seem to be catering to gamblers lately. Just off the Discovery & the casino was constantly packed.

I find cruise casinos, on the whole, to be just as good if not better than a land casino.

I lost on this last cruise but was in the casino A LOT so just got a VERY GOOD offer.

My husband actually came out ahead. He bets higher because he likes the Wheel of fortune machine. So, even though his bets were higher which built points faster, I was in the casino much more than him so I got a better offer.

Wow, that is great info and i do exactly what you described.  Put in $40 loose it in 5 min and walk away.  Ill your way next time.  That would definitely explain how our friends get away with not loosing a ton of money to get those offers.

    Thanks again for the info

  18. We sailed HAL and Princess pretty much exclusively in the late 90s early 2000s when we were in our 20s and 30s.  Lived in FL at the time and easy to just hop on a ship with no airfare.  Definitely the youngest people on most cruises, but we loved the laid back atmosphere and we pretty much had the bars to ourselves after 10ish. Fast forward 20 years of having kids and cruising RCL, NCL, we cant wait to get back to Princess and HAL. Although this time, we will be the ones going to bed at 10...

We have recently done a couple X cruises and we think thats a good line when our older kids go with us, 18 and 20.

We're taking our first Princess cruise in 20+ years in april so fingers crossed its still somewhat how we remember.  Im sure some things have changed.

IF you get an offer. it will usually be for 3 different category upgrades.

They will give you a minimum bid. Sometimes I think their minimum is to high & I will not bid. If I think it low I will go $35 to $50. over that..

You win some, you lose some    :O)

I know this is a personal question but im going to ask anyway.  How much do you usually have to gamble to get the offers?  Friends of ours say they only gamble $500-1k per cruise and they get offers all the time on RCL. And, they say they usually come home even or ahead. That sounds odd to me that they would get a free cruise and the max they would ever loose is $1k??
