  1. We stayed at the Hilton Airport Hotel in May. We weren't expecting much but were suitable impressed. It was an easy walk from the terminal and as we are HHonors members on check in we were upgraded to the Club floor. The breakfast in the Club lounge was a bonus. I'm glad we chose that instead of the Hilton Garden Inn

We booked via the Hilton website

  2. We have just returned from our cruise -at the start of the cruise our flight landed into Rome (FCO) and we had made sure we had sufficient coins for our luggage trolley ...we were pleasantly surprised to find that no coins were needed as the trolleys were FREE. A few years back this wasn't the case so I guess thing have changed. Always good to be prepared so a few coins will always come in handy:)

  3. We went to Tallinn last year - the schedule said MUUGA so I called the Captains Club and was informed that we would be docking in the Old Town port. Don't know why they keep putting MUUGA. From the Old Town port it is a really easy walk into the old town of Tallinn.

    Have a great cruise.

  4. Thanks guys for the advice. We have now booked into the Santa Chiara Hotel & have also contacted taxi-finder. They have come up with a Limo company 39 Euro's one way which is reasonable so will go with that.

I hadn't heard of taxi finder before but will certainly use them again.

This CC Forum is awesome - appreciate all your help:)

  5. My flight doesn't arrive into Venice Airport until 2325hrs - we hope to book a Hotel - Santa Chiara which is near to the bus termini.

Has any one had experience of getting transport at such a late time -I've heard that the buses at late/early hours can be a bit hit & miss so we don't mind getting a taxi or arranging for a Private Car to collect us.

We also hope to spend a few nights in Venice on our return & yet again our flight leaves at an awkward time 0715

Any suggestions or recommendation for Private Car transfers would also be welcome.

    Thanks

  6. Did you made this cruise at the beginning of May? I checked the hoho boat website in Stockholm and they say it operates only from the 15th of may. I hope they'll make an exception because two big ships will be there on the 10th.

    Al

There are at least 2 Ho Ho Boat operators. As far as I can see the STROMMA boats operate from 30th April so you should be fine.

  7. I still intend taking Formal Dresses on our cruise - just bought 3 new Long Evening dresses so I'm determined to get some wear out of them!

Don't worry I'm sure you won't be the only one's in Formal Wear:)

  8. We did a 14 night Baltic Cruise last year and our itinerary also said Muuga. We actually docked in Tallinn - it was just a 10 minute walk into the old city so I think you will find your cruise will also dock at Tallinn & not as stated Muuga

Don't know why Celebrity say docking at Muuga!

We enjoyed walking around Tallinn but be prepared - it is very touristy.

Stockholm - we docked right next to the Hop On Hop off boats - the ticket offices are immediately LEFT. If you want to go to the VASA Museum - make sure you get off 1st thing as queue's can be really long to get into the VASA. The 1st boats of the day will take you directly to the Vasa - normally they go to other drop off points first.

    You will love this cruise

  9. Our cruise in MAY was due to overnight in Istanbul but unlike yours this wasn't our final destination.

We have been recently informed that we won't be going to Istanbul but instead will have a Night stop in Athens.

I reckon you might get a Night stop in Athens

  10. We are gong to Istanbul on the Equinox in May 2016. Several people on our Roll Call have contacted Celebrity and they have confirmed that we will STILL be docking there. Due to construction work - from June Celebrity will NOT be docking there.

I guess circumstances can always change so we will wait & see.

  11. I was also thinking of rebooking to take advantage of the new offer but it would mean giving up our chosen cabin (Hump) and also we prefer fixed Late Seating in the MDR and now only Select is available so after a lot of debating we decided to stay as we are for the time being.

  12. We did this cruise August last year.

It is very port intensive it can be tiring as there is so much to do & see.

Take clothes for all types of weather as it can be very variable - even in August we were in sweaters most of the time.

BRUGES - the easiest way to get into Bruges is to pre book a Taxi /Van - they hold 8 people & costs 50 Euro's each journey (set fare) If you join a Roll Call this form of transport gets filled up really quickly - in the end I ordered 2 but in reality I could have filled many more. We used Rony's Taxis, there is also Taxi Snel + a few others recommended in reviews. The late joiners to the Roll Call found that all the taxi/vans were fully booked. The Bruges Canal boat trips open up at 10am & can get really busy so get there as soon as they open to avoid the crowds.

STOCKHOLM - The Vasa Museum was amazing but can get very busy with long lines so once again get there as early as possible. We were one of the 1st passengers off the ship and went straight to catch the 1st boat (shuttle) of the morning to take us to the Vasa. The boats were right by where we moored so we were lucky! Normally Vasa is the 3rd of 4th stop but if you get on the 1st boat it will take you straight there. If I remember correctly there are 3 boat/shuttle companies to choose from.

ST PETERSBURG - We went on a Privately Organised 2 day Tour - ALLA & SPB Tours seemed to be the most popular although there are many to choose from.

This was the highlight of the cruise and I think we saw all there was to see - it was well worth the money.

As you will have gather I would highly recommend this Itinerary but it is very tiring!!

  13. FCO have asked all European Airlines to reduce their flights by up to 40%.

This is the reason that passengers have found their B.A. flights cancelled or re-routed to Naples.

Long Haul Flights are said NOT to be affected.

It is an unfortunate situation for everyone including the Airlines who have no choice but to cancel flights

  14. Our British Airways filight to Rome is cancelled for this Saturday. We have to fly to Naples and transfer to Civi. Ba have cancelled many flights to Rome over this weekend. They use Terminal 3 so wonder if it is closed this weekend.

The airport has asked Airlines to cut back flights by up to 40% until 24th June ...that is a lot of flights.

A good website to check for airline travel disruptions is easytravelreport.com

  15. When we went to Zeebrugge we arrived on a Sunday. The train service schedule is reduced on Sundays so- we booked a taxi/van (they get booked up quickly) The vans hold 8 people and cost 50 Euro's each way - divided by 8 the cost is very reasonable. I then posted on our Roll Call and very quickly the van was FULL and in the end I had so many people wanting to join us that I ended up booking another Taxi Van which once again was filled.

Is there anyone on your Roll Call that has spaces in their transport.
