Wifi was available pretty much everywhere, but can be spotty depending on the ship's location. I was able to make wifi calls, and facetime with my phone.

Just looked to see what the shows are for the October Mini Cruise, and it comes up with Grease, I thought this Show was on the Harmony now.
It's both Harmony and Independence when they announced it. :)

That's a weird issue alright. Thankfully I've never run into it. Good luck!
Yes, you're blessed. :D

Feel better now?
Why yes. ;)

We are coming from Canada, I do not have roaming data (very expensive!!) on my cell to be in touch with Uber or Lyft.. on disembarkation day... any recommendations on free wifi....
The Starbucks across the street does have free wifi, but like others have said, no go on Uber or Lyft as they are not allowed.
-
Neither are allowed in Galveston!
If you want one like those two,
a new one is GETME which meets all City of Galveton Criteria and Ordinances
Like Bob said see Gulf Coast Departures Forum for alternates
Hmmmmm. Bad info from galvestoncruisetips. Sorry.

Not sure of any specifics, but it may be cheaper for you to use Uber or Lyft?

I've already read about how inapt their IT department is, and today I've actually experienced it. It's incredibly frustrating!
So I tried to log into My Cruises account today, but it would not take my password. Yes, I had the right password as I've put in hundreds of times. A quick call to their tech support and the tech told me that IT did some upgrades last weekend and they probably lost my account in the database during the upgrade and told me to create a new one.
Dumbfounded (I don't think there are any IT department out there that rolls out updates without testing or losing client information), I tried to create a new account, but was told I needed to pick a new username. The problem with that is there is no field on the website for me to input a new username. A second call to their IT, and he was able to retrieve my account info and sent me a link to reset password (I've done this 4 times before I called and each time it told me it doesn't recognize my password or account.) I was able to reset my password and then it asked me to put in a new username. I asked the tech to see if I could use the same username and he said that I must pick a new one in (account must be an email address). I've done what was told and just for grins, I logged off and logged back on to see if that fixed my issue, but I am once unable to log in using my new username and password. Arrrrrrgh! After putting on hold for like 10 minutes, the tech came back and told me they are updating their database and told me to call back in 48 hours to get this corrected. Now I see light! :(

Thank you for your thorough report of your cruise. I have a few questions which I can't find an answer to. First, I have read some reviews that say that the refurb included a 3D theater, but I have never seen a picture or read where a cruiser actually used it. Did you see/use it on your cruise?
Second, I don't any listing of actual jazz or smooth jazz (sax, or other brass instruments) at Dizzy's Jazz Club. Is there?
thanks,
The theater is 3D capable, but I did not see any 3D movies showing on my sailing. Also no smooth jazz that I know of, but a lot could happen in a couple of months. :)

Thanks for taking the time to post your entire experience. It definitely made our August cruise easier. Your photographs were amazing and, quite frankly, I think Royal Caribbean should throw you a free cruise for all of your positive comments.
Ha! Free cruise would be heaven. [emoji16]. And thank you. [emoji3]

Forgive me if I missed this (I have done a relatively quick search), but were there any naturalists/rangers on board for any lectures? Did they have any discussions on what you were seeing/looking for while sailing through Tracy Arm or the other areas? We did Princess several years ago and they had one the whole time-- I didn't think to check this one before I booked. Although we did chose RCCL for the kid activities/amenities-- I do want them to learn a little something ; ) Trying to figure out if I need to get a couple travel books and have some family lessons before our departure!
There was one if I remember correctly. It was held at the Star Lounge. :)

Other than the suite, a Family Ocean View may fit your needs as well. They are typically at the very front.

This brings back some good memories. Your pics are wonderful. This makes me want to books another Alaska cruises. Maybe when I get on Oasis OTS next year. :D

Is that the evening temperature or daytime? If daytime, does it get much colder at night?
Is anyone using the pool? Riding the surfing simulator?
Thanks!!
As far as I know the pool and the flowrider was being used during the day. Its a bit cold for my taste, but I am from Texas. [emoji16]

Is free drinking water readily available on the ship? Or is bringing some bottled water a good idea? (We opted to skip all of the beverage package options.)
Thanks!
They do have drinking water but if you are sensitive to sodium intake, I would bring some bottle water. My Mom's feet were swollen drinking the ship's water and it went away after she switched to bottle water. The desalination of the water makes the water taste great though.

Harmony has a few studio cabins - is it possible you were seeing those?
They didn't list the category, but I bet you're right.

Also most cruise lines have sailing dates that has minimal to zero single supplement. Do a search on Google on cruises with no single supplement and ************* is usually the ones listing cruises of that nature. Last I looked, Harmony of the Seas has quite a few, but that ship is kinda pricey to begin with.

I'm traveling with a group of 6-8 people who want to book the Chef's Table on the Explorer in September. I do not want to book on lobster night in the dining room. Does anyone know how many nights they have the Chef's Table? Lobster is usually the second formal night but which night is that on this cruise. We sail on a Friday.
Thanks for your comments.
Not sure about Chef's Table, but Lobster night is on Day 5.

I was on this sailing, as mentioned previously.
Here's an album of photos- there are north of 400 of the 2000 I took. Tons of ship photos. Our cabin was 1854, one of the family panoramic ov's
Enjoy!!
Awesome photos! Thanks for sharing! :D

Thank you! Can I ask you guys a question about bottled water? Did any of you bring some on the ship? I really don't want to pay a heavy price per bottle and we only bought the soda package.

Yes, I would love to hear about this as well. Do they give you blankets? I heard they do not give popcorn or hot chocolate. Bummer.

No popcorn or hot chocolate. I am not sure about blankets because I did not ask for them.

Hi Kinny,
I love your review and pics...thank you, thank you, thank you! Would you mind commenting on the movies? I read on the RCL site that there is a 3d movie theatre on the boat but haven't seen anyone post or mention it. I also saw in one of your pics movies being played out on the pool deck but didn't see many folks out there with you. Not sure how cold it was but would love to enjoy some movies with the kids when I'm onboard.
Hello,
They play movie at the theatre as well. I am not sure if any of them are in 3D though. It is cold outside but people are hanging by the hot tub. The pic you see might be early in the morning like 5AM. The only movies I remember is How To Be Single and Star Wars Episode VII.

Yeah, their IT is currently having issues with this. They said they will need 72 hours to fix this. LOL.
