Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. The last night on our cruise our butler in the Retreat confirmed that he was being asked to move back to housekeeping or retire. 15 years as a butler and now will have to relearn his new role in housekeeping.(If Celebrity reads my post the butler took great care of us. He was careful not to say he was being demoted and was not negative in any way. ) We did not dig for more information so I cannot comment beyond what he told us.
  2. When we were on the Reflection in 2015 we were not allowed to have food from the lawn club in our cabana at dinner time, so I am not surprised you are having trouble getting it delivered to your room. The first thing we noticed on the Eclipse was how lightly staffed the ship is given that it is a very full sold out ship. No surprise that Reflection is also lightly staffed.
  3. Sorry I misunderstood your question. I don’t know the answer to what you are asking. No one has asked us to self identify but I have been wearing a badge holder with my color coded room key/sea pass.
  4. We have been to Michael’s Club twice already. It is quickly becoming our refuge. There are no plans to remove it until the ship gets refurbished according to our butler.
  5. Our thoughts are with the person who needs emergency medical treatment this evening. The Eclipse will be diverted for a few hours toward Prince Rupert so the person can be safely transported off the ship.
  6. Currently on the Eclipse heading to Alaska. In a sky suite in the Retreat. We just have a butler and a stateroom attendant. No mention of the new team approach.
  7. Looks like you got a lot of great advice. I was watching a Travel Agency's cruise review and they mentioned your cruise. They were really alarmed at that Celebrity had overbooked. Evidently there are some great deals to be had if your travel is flexible. It may be worth asking what Celebrity can give you if you rebook on another cruise at a later date.
  8. Some ships don’t have doors that magnets work on and I haven’t been on Celebrity for a while. I have been on Millie, Summit and Reflection a long time ago but never Eclipse. One of my favorite cruise memories was of a members fall foliage cruise and the entire ship seemed to be decorated with door magnets and banners. I definitely need new magnets. I dug my magnets out today and one said “I love my cats” and we are down to one now 😿
  9. I haven’t been on the Eclipse and would love to decorate the doors to our staterooms since my family are on different decks and it can be easy to get turned around. Will that work on this ship?
  10. True and they would probably say they have fire suppression bags stationed throughout the ship. I have no idea if they have suppression bags for electronics but they should.
  11. If they don’t care about the health risks maybe they would care about the fire risks?https://www.fda.gov/tobacco-products/products-ingredients-components/tips-help-avoid-vape-battery-or-fire-explosions
  12. Thanks! I emailed them! We have three sea days so that will be a lot of time spent avoiding smoking areas on the ship. Hopefully fumes stay out of our cabins. I have been on cruises where the smoking areas and the air return are oddly close to each other.
  13. Thank you all for trying to get Celebrity to do something about vaping. Will be on Eclipse later this summer (first cruise since ‘19 first Celebrity cruise since ‘15) and worry about my son’s and my enjoyment of the cruise. Both of us suffer from chest pain when around folks vaping.
