  1. Does Seaside has a free ice cream place?.  On Meraviglia just outside the Marketplace buffet (near the pool) there was a place that having free soft ice cream it was one of the best we ever had.  We will be on Seaside in a few week just want to know.

    Thanks

Yeah, booked through a TA. I have the app but no where on there says about checking in 😞

Yeah, the button is greyed out and not clickable.

I've logged into my account and can't see it at all, tried with booking number too. Email is greyed out with the selection for it, so it's not clickable.

Sorry it did not work out for you.  I am from USA just wonder if MSC system here is different than yours.  I did all this thru my laptop not thru MSC app.

How I did.  At MSC home page.

    Manage Booking

    View your cruise

    Login = Email address/password

The below is part of the page.

The gray section is shown with my email address next to it an orange box (send to your address).  I selected it and it went thru ok.

Hi RUYEN, your next cruise departs in 29 days

How do I get my e-Ticket?

    Hi,

I thought I'd put in here, before going to MSC. Usually get a response much quicker here. We have a cruise in 20 days and although all my information has been provided, I can't see any sort of e-ticket that I can access. Here is what I see:

    image.thumb.png.539e569efae4166a938c7020f97a42e8.png

After pressing Go to Web Check-in, it then displays with this, despite me adding a Credit Card on that will be used:

    image.png.64abd7977b147e0fc1d2d1d407fd5e8a.png

Finally, this is what I see, even though I have filled in everything:

    image.thumb.png.5254ae9a852ebd906c52b5c5477a7918.png

There feels like there's no option to select the passengers to select to web check in, and get sent the e-tickets.

Anyone else had these sort of issues, or any idea how to fix this?

MSC USA.  I did as you did above but would not be able to send e-ticket to my email either

This is how I did a couple days ago and it work for me and my cruise is 30 days away.  I just logged into my account (did not use booking number) just user id and password.  At the middle of this page it said HOW TO GET MY E-TICKET. there is a section GO INTO WEB CHECKIN  then below it - my email address already filled in by MSC and at right of it SEND TO MY EMAIL (just hit it and MSC sent it to my email address).  I had tried it several times and it worked each time.

Hope it would work for your site too.  I am glad to get this task completed before the cruise even if I have TA.

    Good Luck.

This is how we got our eTicket before 20 days.

Login your account.  You will see the above info and also there is a space that already filled with your email address then hit send to your email.  You will get the ticket before 20 days.  Ours is actually 30 days out and got it today  We have tried the other ways (download) but did not work.

  5. If the ship docks in Colon.  We had been through the canal a few times with many excursions some was good and some was not too good.

Good - a ferry trip to Panama city with a bus return.

Not too good - a train trip along the canal with a bus return.  Along the train road grass was very tall blocking some of the the view of the canal.

We also went with a cruise critic on excursion to the 1st lock (Mira Flores) to watch how each ship go through a lock and after that touring around the Colon area.  This one was good enough if a person already saw a canal a few times.

    Happy cruising.

  6. We have been on many cruises too with many different lines.  Our last two were with MSC and have 2 more on MSC Seaside.  Their price is low, their ships are beautiful, the cabin is good enough for a week (booked with Fantastica BR1 or BR2), their food has been improved a lot since re-opening it is a win win for us plus we like the cruise departs from Port Canaveral.

Give them a try, you will not find Celebrity or Royal Caribbean nor Carnival but a good cruise and will not go home hungry with saving you can cruise again.

    • Thanks 1
  7. I can answer on Caribbean sailing.  On Gala night the lobster is a COLD water kind (very good and fresh) the menu also has surf (beef tenderloin) and turf and the portions were large enough for us.  I am also unsure regarding a second lobster.

  8. With a  Diamond status MSC you will have a complementary dinner at Butcher's cut.  Remember to reserve your time slot asap once on board so you won't miss out because they will fill up fast.

  9. We are having the same problem as yours even though the past 2 cruises we went through very easy and was able to know the check-in time and printed document tickets after completing the check in.

Per MSC web within 20 days of departure we would be able to PRINT THE CRUISE TICKETS.  At this point we are under 50 days so we will need to wait a little longer if can't the TA will have to print the documents for us.  MSC is changing their procedures constantly.  Such a hassle!!

  10. The last 2 cruises with MSC we had no problem at all on the check-in but not this time MSC is shown with all the check marked however we still CAN NOT send document to our email address because an error and do not know what we did wrong it is very crazy.  We will wait a little longer then try again or TA has to print the doc for us.

We have always done RC, was looking in to trying MSC but want to be sure I'm understanding what is and is not included.

What about rooms, dining, any adult only areas (we are pool people)

We tried MSC first time in October 2021 after several cruises from many cruise lines.  Even though the food was not great at that sailing just after pandemic but we thought but the price was very good and the ship (Divina) was beautiful plus the service was wonderful. We gave MSC another try this past December on Meraviglia this time the price was also good and the food much improved.  Neither to say we already have 2 more cruises booked for later this year.  We only booked Fantastica with status match as Diamond member.

We also like RCI but their price is getting to expensive compares to MSC.

  12. I checked a big on line cruise company v*******.  Seaside will move from Barbados/Martinique to Port Canaveral in April 2023 and will be at Port Canaveral until November 2023 then will move back to Barbados/Martinique sailing until April 2024 and after that she will be move to Europe market.  MSC is moving ships around so American cruisers can sample their ships.

I was also expecting the langosta pier and was shocked and surprised they used the international pier.  It was more convenient for me as I walked only 15 minutes to sunset restaurant and bar as opposed to the 46 estimated minutes walk from the other pier.

We had been in Cozumel many times and the only one time docked at Punta Langosta it was on MSC Divina.  We like PL must better than other two piers so convenience to look/shop around (Mega store).  Just hope Seaside will be allow to dock at PL.

Back at the port area, we shopped in several jewelry shops. We ended up buying my son his birthday gift, a silver curb link bracelet. And I bought a silver ring with two zultanite stones that change color in the sun. It will remind me of this trip.

Back on the ship after four hours in Cozumel, everyone was hungry so we made the buffet our first stop.

Where did Meraviglia dock in Cozumel International pier or Punta Langosta?.  Love your review we enjoyed Mera very much beautiful ship.

  15. At Lighthouse beach there are umbrellas and bean bags and they are FREE.  On our last cruise in December 2022 we walked past the main buffet and stay right to that beach area (do not remember the name) but there are several shady trees and some chairs (the WC and another food truck are nearby plus very close to the main buffet.

    Enjoy.

  16. @turbotravelers.  Welcome to CruiseCritic.  MSC matched our status to Princess Elite.  We already had 2 MSC cruises Divina just after Covid 2021 and Meraviglia in December 2022 from Pt. Canaveral.  We will be boarding on Seaside in May too and already booked another one for July.  We enjoyed MSC very much so far with the price is very good and the food had been improved on our December 2022 cruise.  The price won't stay on this low very long therefore we will enjoy MSC while it lasts.

Hope your group will enjoy MSC.

I believe that there is an option to select the names to include on the card. If a name is not selected, that person registers their card information.  Not sure about debit, have only registered the credit card.

On our first MSC Divina did not accept my DEBIT and accepted regular credit card (with 3% foreign transaction charge).  On our second with MSC with a regular credit card they put a hold of $250 right the way for all the purchasing on board.  We ended spending more therefore no fund back into our CC.

Once on board MSC would remind people time and time over to register the CC.

Once a person learned MSC routine it is very easy.

  18. We booked thru TA whose tried to make the payment through MSC system it also shown the cost more than our invoice (under $100).  Our agent called MSC and their agent quoted from their system the same price as our invoice.  MSC system might have a problem.  You might need to invest a phone call to their customer service before calling your cruise.

We already got our cruise paid for May sailing (same price as invoice).

That seems to me to be a contradicting statement!

The MSC chocolate gift is a dark choloate bar about the size of US paper dollar or a little larger or so with MSC logo with the ship name on it and Venchi chocolate is a size of our US quarter coin that is the different.

  20. We got our status matched before Covid (nearly expired).

On the first cruise on Divina with MSC just after restarted they applied VC + military discount (10% totally) the diamond status was very nice with chocolate ships and commimentary dinner at Butchers Cut.

Our second on Mera there was a sheet in the cabin listing benefits for all levels.  We did receive Prosecco and macarons plus 6 Venchi chocolate pieces NO cholate gift and got to go to dinner at Butchers Cut with our Diamond status.  We also received invitations to Welcome Back Party and Diamond Members Party on sea days at 5 PM. Both of them were OK with a lot of wine/champagne it was nice for MSC to have them but not warm welcome as other lines such Princess or Royal Caribbean.  We also received 2 cheap bags with MSC logo on the day before departure.

With MSC price and status match we already 2 cruises booked for later this year.

    Happy cruising.

I got an email from MSC today Feb 13 saying if I didn’t pay my balance in seven days my cruise would be cancelled.  When I booked the cruise I was told final payment was due March 7 and that is what it shows in my booking. My cruise is for May 21. I would prefer to pay March 7 but on the other hand, I sure don’t want the cruise cancelled.  Is this a normal practice of MSC? If I call, I might get the wrong answer. If I paid in seven days, that would be three months before sailing so maybe payment  is required?

I booked my through a TA for my cruise sailing date May 14 the due date was February 13.  It seems right to me possible MSC system is a little confused.  If you really want to go just pay it a few days early (pay now or pay later you still have to pay).

    * MSC Voyagers Club Photo (at restaurant)

Is this just one photo that’s made in de restaurants or is there a specific place/ time for this?

On our December cruise (Meraviglia) it should be on the formal night in the dinning room only.  That night no photographer around so we did not get our picture taken. We will need to check on the next cruise because the picture and the chocolate GIFT (used to ship but MSC cut back to chocolate gift then no gift ???).
