PS Ann, Azura is just approaching Barbados as I type. You will be
first on board for ages, hoping it looks good.

Hi Ann
We don’t go until Saturday, so won’t see you at station testing.
But will def. See you in Glass House, our favourite.
it’s never stopped raining here all day, just hope it doesn’t turn
to snow. Maybe while you are waiting for your flight you could
update the situation as to trolleys. Have just locked all the cases
up , very heavy! Dreading having to wheel them over to T2.
We are on D deck, have booked Epicurian first night even thoughI know we will be tired out!
Have a good journey and negative testing,
Terri

Great info, thank you so much.

Hi Simmydw
We fly from Manchester this coming weekend, please let me know
if any trolleys at station as we have loads of luggage and am worried
at having to drag it all to check in!
Off and on snowing today so enjoy while you can!
Terri

Hi Pennib
Because we are on board for a month, we have had to purchase
extra baggage allowance £40 per extra 5kg each but at least won’t be
worried now when approaching check in!
I think you have done the right thing with trolley, evidently takes 10 mins
between T2 and station. Still unsure what to do, just wish I knew if
trolley would available at station.

Hi again Pennib
Have just looked on CP and find that Xmas Eve booking now
available, so have done it, really pleased.

Hi Pennib
we are on for a month as well , we have booked Epicurian for the
evening we arrive, we are always tired and just enjoy being there
plus it’s usually half price although I was surprised at the price of
£22 for all week, it used to be £28! We were hoping to book for
Xmas Eve but as you say it does not quite go that far , will have to
hope to book it when we visit.
The entertainment listed on the CP does not look very exciting!
I noticed the same flight today for Britannia got off about half an hour late,
I am still feeling stressed about having to cart all the luggage from the
station to T2, I just hope someone who went today may read this and post to confirm it’s tricky or maybe alleviate my fears. I hope you are all
sorted parking-wise.
I see Azura is on her way , well past the Azores now, hoping for a newlooking ship after her refit.

Hi Jenn
My printer always lets me down when I need it!
if you are flying from Manchester , would appreciate any tips , we don’t
fly until the 11th. Azura is half way over the Atlantic near the Azores
at the moment, hoping to find a totally revamped ship after its refit.
Whatever, hope you have a fab trip and that all the pre cruise things
we have had to do will have been worth it.
Terri

Thank you Shipsareus, the more I hear, the less stress .
Would you please confirm availability of trollies within the
station compound.

Thanks for that info Tring, much appreciated.

Hi Pennib
Sounds like you’ve got it sorted, thought I had today when I saw
on Airports website an advert for a firm to collect and deliver your
luggage to plane provided you had checked in. Unfortunately they
have not yet started up after Covid so big disappointment there!
oh well, all dependent on taxi driver now! Will have to take it as it comes.

Wondered if anyone had flown from Manchester to Caribbean within last few weeks.
Have had all instructions from P and O and understand them all.
However, would be helpful if anyone could answer -
The walk-in testing is at The Station at Manchester Airport.
Are there loads of trollies there? It is a walk to Terminal 2 butas we have loads of luggage would it be a better idea to get the
taxi to wait for us being tested and then collect us to take us
to T2? He could wait in one of the short stay car parks until we ring him.
I know it says it may take up to an hour but am not looking forward
to the walk with all the luggage! We are going for a month so have even
purchased extra baggage allowance!
Would be really grateful of you letting me know your experience and give any tips.Terri

Glitterati, Silkworms - Interestedcruisefan is, as he says, entitled to his opinion. The thing is we don’t have to acknowledge his opinions. I am still looking forward to our Caribbean cruise next weekend. I know things are likely to be different due to the currently changing situation but I will be quite happy sitting on deck in the sunshine, being fed and watered, taking advantage of onboard activities and chatting with like-minded cruisers. I am not being flippant when I say this, we are all entitled to our opinions but we don’t need to try to inflict them on others. Smacks of bullying to me.
Agree with everything you say. We’ve already booked Epicurian online
for several evenings and really looking forward to the five excursions
already booked. Bring on the sun.

Errrm .. I've had absolutely nothing from P&O. Admittedly only booked last Monday but all my info has come from friends and contacts on this site.
We have received emails on a daily basis for quite a few days now.
Admittedly they are all repeated instructions which are already
available within your booking (before you sail etc) but I think we
are probably sailing before you (10 December) so I am sure
you will be receiving them shortly.

For those of us flying to Barbados for our Xmas cruises, I think
we would all agree that we are being kept well informed by P and O
as to what we need to do.

Hi Jen
You will enjoy Toyah W, she’s a little miss dynamite, can you believe
she’s 63!!
We saw her a few weeks ago on Britannia and thoroughly enjoyed
the evening in the Limelight, I had Seabass which was lovely.
We are in Caribbean over Xmas but on Azura so will miss the
Limelight😂😂.

The whole point of this problem is that people have had to be moved because of the cabins being put in the quarantine area, which nobody
can do anything about because of the situation.
However, it is totally unfair that having paid a select price in order to
choose a cabin and marked ‘do not upgrade’ that you are now in a
cabin you have not chosen. You have ended up with a saver/guarantee
type cabin but have paid many hundreds of pounds more because of
paying a select price. The very least P and O should do is up the obc or
allow cancellation and reimburse.

We absolutely love D deck on Ventura and Azura, love the open
balconies with full sun and appreciate the tub and shower in the
bathroom plus the sofa rather than just a chair on C deck.
You will enjoy.

We did this in late July/August a couple of years ago on Arcadia.
Did the usual things, whale watching etc. Can’t say I would want to
visit Iceland again but hey each to his own, there were three different
ports in Iceland but my favourite stop was Dublin! Arcadia we love and
you need to do it, you might love it.

The example given in advice from gov.website is that if arriving on a
Saturday in Barbados (we do) the test should be done Wednesday.
We are looking to go to site near Manchester airport which is about half
hour away from us. Results sent by email within 24 hours.
Terri
-
Hi Jennizor, have you sussed out yet where to have your pcr test
within the 72 hours of flying out from Manchester?
Terri

We have had this cruise booked for two years and we have been asking
the question between ourselves since then! We have actually stopped
worrying about it now and decided what will be will be!
Just looking forward to Azura in her new furnishings, she certainly
needed the refit.

£35 pp each way, ie £140.00 in total for two people.
-
We are also on board, enjoyed the Limelight last night and have booked again for next week Toyah Wilcox.
The Buffet is now self serve again. The Epicurian is as good as ever.
Just back from the Baltic lunch, no officers on tables, Captain made
a welcome back speech. Food OK.
Worst thing for me (thank goodness I made a note from Bestguessed)
the wifi system will not recognise iCloud. So no emails sent or received.
This is our first time on Britannia, has it always been like this.? Anyhow,
big disappointment and have actually written to IT manager on board to
complain.
