Hi cruiserjules
Also on this cruise and have read everything. Don’t know how to
check in re photograph, can you help? Then we would know our
arrival time.
Have you ordered your PCR test? Thinking of using Boots, have
you any other advice?

Ask your steward to put a top sheet on the bed and then you can throw the duvet off whenever you need to. Have done that loads of times, no
problem.

We are booked in it for January.
Has anyone stayed in it before and, if so, can you elaborate on what is like (other than P&O's basic cabin plan) position-wise, noise-wise, balcony size, what it's like for not getting the sun on it, etc. etc. and anything else you can think would be useful to know before we travel? Thanks in advance.
And if you had any photos or videos that would be even better thanks.
Hi, obviously a good aft cabin, however it is quite overlooked by
sunbathers at the far end of the pool, I remember being in that
corner once and thinking the balcony was pretty close to the
public area. Not sure about noise either, you may get some
from the pool itself especially if a function/competition on in the pool which in the Caribbean is quite often. We are on the Azura over Xmas,
fly back 8 Jan so may just miss you. Hope you enjoy.

We were on this cruise too and had the best time! Iona is beautiful and there was just so much choice. We had suite 9739 which was great. The inside space wasn't huge but the very large wraparound balcony (best one we've had) and the bathroom more than make up for it. When we got allocated this cabin, I was worried about being above the clubhouse venue and also overlooking the sunset bar, however neither were an issue. I only noticed noise from clubhouse when the band were playing and it didnt bother us. With regards to the aft bar, it was actually quite nice being able to overlook it, as it felt like being part of the atmosphere whilst having a nice private area. It was pretty quiet and there was no smoking allowed there which I had been worried about.
Weather was fantastic as already mentioned and we saw so many dolphins.
Hi Naomi
Thanks for your review, I have been waiting for one from a person
having a suite over the aft. I am so glad the noise was not overly a
nuisance because I have been very concerned as we have a similar
suite on Arvia and I have seriously considered cancelling because
of the bars, entertainment, jacuzzis etc which are situated on aft.
So glad you enjoyed. Is it possible to PM you with further questions.

We decided to go for a walk and popped by our local cemetery where one
of our family is laid to rest . Late last week we put some flowers in the pots
only to find the flower heads had been snapped off and some nearby had the
same treatment or had the flower pot tops used as frisbiees .We have replaced
our flowers but cannot help wonder what goes through the morons head that
does this sort of thing . Thankfully it is not a common occurrence so we hope
it stays that way
.
Actually Kalos, I used to think the same as you until one day I actually
saw magpies doing exactly what you described. Squirrels also love
flower heads especially if seeded, so now I chase them off but obviously
does not do much good! For some reason they love carnations best.

Amazon do great e-ticket tags etc for all Carnival brands including
Princess and p and o. Just google luggage tags for cruises and you
will find a good choice.

Thanks for that review Welshy, really appreciated. Like you, we have
not been on Britannia previously and we also have a suite on her
next month. Am looking forward to it even more now!

So it's not only me then, I was beginning to think I wasn't doing things correctly. What has happened to their usually good customer service, you can't run a business with after sales service like this. Lots of complaints about this on one social media site.
No it’s not only you Thornegirl, we sent email with info and redactions,
over three weeks ago. No auto response. Will try again this week.

We are on the Med 9th Oct I think it is just freedom for the staycations we have booked first sitting
Yes, you are correct, I had originally booked freedom but have
now changed it to second sitting, it must have just been the
staycations which were all freedom. Did not want to be hanging
around for an hour or so as described by app users so am quite
happy with 8.30 club dining. Looking forward to it now, why don’t you
join the roll call which I started a while ago.

Yes, I rang this morning and was answered within 10 mins.
But that was not the number I rang, it was 0345 355 5111

Hi Debsjc
We are on Med 9 Oct cruise, I am a bit confused as to dining
arrangements, relating to the app.
Were you ALL on freedom dining? Is Club dining (6.30/8.30} no
longer on Britannia?
We have booked freedom dining but would now prefer the
8.30 sitting and am happy to change it via phone but am
concerned that freedom seemed the only option. Would appreciate
your thoughts.

I would stick with Ventura. The aft cabins are really at the aft.
Am seriously considering changing a booking we have made on
Arvia because on close inspection and hearing reports from Iona
which is more or less identical, and looking at the deck plan,
the aft suites are looking over the Sunset Club, some hot tubs
and a busy bar. Noisy? Certainly not the aft suites we are used to
on other P and O ships.Am awaiting some reviews from Iona aft suites to confirm, or
otherwise, my misgivings!

Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere but does anyone who is in a suite or ligurian tier for the iona staycation cruise have their arrival time yet, including the time for testing? We had planned to drive down (from Cheshire) in the morning given the covid situation to minimize our contacts, but seeing various threads it seems as though we might have to be there quite early, and I wouldnt want to miss out on any of the day! Wondering whether it would actually be hest to book a hotel?
Hi Naomi
We are also in Macclesfield and frequently get to Southampton by
11.30 am if we set off about 8.00 am. We have also stayed overnight
many times at Holiday Inn Express opposite the Hampshire cricket
ground, Ageas Bowl.Very good rates and it only takes about 20 mins
to drive to the docks.
It all depends what day, Weekends we always drive, Monday mornings not.
Our next cruise is Britannia in October and we will def.drive there.
We are in a suite so we can arrive early or late.
It’s all really depending on how you feel and how confident you are with
your car etc. If you have the slightest doubt, then book a hotel.
Hope you enjoy your cruise whatever you decide. Please report back!

We are due to be on the Azura Caribbean cruise on 4th December, flying from Manchester. Just did a dummy booking and the only flight option was London. Being optimistic, perhaps the Manchester flight is full (us on it). I am going to ring our TA tomorrow for clarification. It would be a pain for us to get to London with all our luggage, probably involving an overnight stay. We would probably want to cancel. I will report back if I get any info from the TA.
I thought the first Caribbean cruise on Azura was not until
the 10 Dec? Maybe I misunderstood.

Anyone on a fly cruise at the end of this year had their flight details yet?
No not yet updated, it’s says 8.00 am from Manchester but I thinkthat is a generic time as it has always been there!
however, I have booked some excursions now they are live. Have been
trying to visit Virgin Gorda for years but each time the sea was too
rough and it was cancelled, so fingers crossed for this time. Have also booked St Barts which is an island we have never visited (it does warn you on the excursion that everything is very expensive!)
Why not join the roll call I started for Azura, we are going on a special
28 day cruise but the roll call encompasses both 14 day cruises.

Looks like Xmas in Caribbean on Azura might just be on.
recommences 10 December and we are due to go on 11 December.
Fingers crossed yet again!

Just to let know that Jane Macdonald new series is on tonight channel 5 at 9 o’clock, first one is sky Princess ,
Yes, really enjoyed tonight’s programme, the Caribbean looked
fabulous and I can concur that the Everglades are exciting.
So sad for Jayne Macdonald, she has just within the last two
weeks lost Ed her partner, she was always talking about him
on these programmes. She deserved some happiness. Really,
really sorry for her loss.

SOA. we were on Ventura Feb 2020 and booked Epicurian on 14th.
It was fabulous, do go. But try and book as early as poss. We were on
the 35 day New Orleans cruise which left on 11 Feb. But booked
way before on board so was sure to get a table. Cannot recommend
it enough.
You can book it online on your cruise personaliser.

Yes Majortom, that is what confused me, because I thought if the
document is dated last year, how do they know I haven’t sold
the shares!
Nearer the time I will contact PandO share advice office to see
what they will accept and take it from there.
Terri

Thank you all, that is so helpful, I had in fact already seen the FAQs
but I was nonplussed as to what to send to them, I understand
now that they are able to check the share register so that’s really
clarified it for me. Thank you again.
Just as a matter of interest , do you all recommend putting my shareswith Equiniti or does it make no difference.

I see that Carnival shareholder Benefit has been continued for a further twelve months
I could do with some help re shares. Know nothing about shares!
I bought 100 carnival shares last March when they were very low priced.
Bought them through the Share Centre which has now been taken over
by Interactive Investments.
What do I actually need to prove to P and O or Princess that I have
these shares? Everything was done online. I have found something
called a Contract Note from March last year. Do I just print it out and
email it to them? Or do you recommend transferring them to
Equiniti which evidently, according to P and O , they will liaise with
them for proof of ownership.
We have three cruises this year and three next year so would really
appreciate someone’s help with this. Thanks.

Well, you did better than me! I have given up for the day, too
frustrating, cannot get beyond the page confirming last country
visited, just will not let me continue to checkout. So fed up with
the site, I rang the helpline at Boots, but they were useless, you give
them the reference number which was registered but they can’t get
into the system.
Think I will look at alternatives tomorrow!
